Who is Pinnacle? How long have they been in business?

Pinnacle got their start in 1998, so they’ve been in business nearly 20 years.

SportsBettingSites.org says that the group core of guys who started Pinnacle (which was first known as Planet Pinnacle, then Pinnacle Sports) came from Heritage Sports.

Heritage had their act together. When they were forced to temporarily close (due to the country they were in changing their gambling laws), they went as far as to send all their customers a FedEx package with an apology note and a check for their account balance.

Compare this to their competitors who were also temporarily forced to close, but instead of paying their customers, they skipped out on what they owed and changed their company names.

Heritage understood the meaning of trust. They’d never skip out on paying what they owed. And that’s something they took with them to Pinnacle.

Pinnacle has worked hard ever since to establish a good name in this industry. It looks like they’ve succeeded too, as they’re known for their fast payouts, competitive lines, and pro-friendly atmosphere.

As far as legalities are concerned – Pinnacle is licensed and regulated by the Government of the Netherlands Antilles (license number: 8048/Jaz). The benefit to this is that they’re required to always have the funds available to pay their customers at all times.

They’re also licensed in Malta and Curacao – both of which they mention on their website.

How is their reputation? What do others think of them?

They have a stellar reputation across the web. I’ve included several testimonials from sports bettors in the sports section below. What’s more is that I’ve not seen anyone recommend you not play here.

One unique thing Pinnacle does is offer support by email only. But before you complain or freak out, exclaiming that a big company should offer live chat or phone support, just know this –

Other reviews say Pinnacle does an excellent job at providing email support. They’re fast and helpful. And that’s only when support is needed – which many reviews say it’s not – because everything works so well.

Another thing to think about – as you’re about to find out, Pinnacle offers dirt cheap odds. This means they make a much smaller profit than their competitors. The tradeoff is that they don’t offer some of the same luxuries or features that other sportsbooks do – because they can’t afford to. One of those luxuries happens to be 1-on-1 support.

Clearly what sucks here are all the fees. Most international sites don’t charge fees, or only charge fees for select banking methods, such as bank wires.

But just about everything here will cost you.

Once again, this is the tradeoff to playing at Pinnacle. You get cheaper lines and all but guaranteed – and much faster – payouts. And I think that’s worth the nominal costs you have to pay to get paid.

Okay, time for another unique situation.

Pinnacle offers zero promotions for sports bettors. Z.E.R.O. And, the reason for this is simple –

They offer the best odds with lowest margins. For this reason, it likely makes little sense for them to offer big deposit bonuses or cashback offers. They can’t afford to, for one thing. And two, they’re already cutting you a massive deal.

Most bonus offers suck anyways. So, this shouldn’t be too big a deal.

Now, that said, casino players will receive unlimited .3% cashback on select casino games.

What’s neat about this offer is that it’s automatically deposited to your account after each bet. You can withdraw it at any time, and without having to roll it over first.

Pinnacle is one of the largest and most player-friendly sportsbooks online. Every non-US sports bettor should have an account here.

Here are the reasons why:

• They offer the best odds. Their average payout is 96.90%, which means they operate on (low) 3.10% margins. To provide some context, their major soccer margins are about 2% – which is 4% less than the industry standard of 6%.
• They don’t cap or ban winners. Instead of focusing on maximizing profits, Pinnacle focuses on maximizing the volume of bets made. Not only that, but Pinnacle offers the highest limits too.
• They welcome arbitrage bettors. As Pinnacle states – “…beyond abiding by our General Rules, the particular motivation behind bets doesn’t concern us – Arbitrage included.” They even explain what arbitrage is and how it works.

Now, there are some tradeoffs to all this.

For one thing, you’re not going to find any sportsbook-related promotions like deposit bonuses or cash back. Their margins are so low they simply couldn’t do it and run a profitable business. Not only that, but why offer all these deals – which aren’t often very good, to begin with – when you can instead offer the cheapest bets all the time?

But when you operate on such razor thin margins like they do, you need to make sure your lines are sharp – which Pinnacle’s is. This means you’re going to have a tough time finding an edge against them.

(Experts say it’s still possible to find one. It’s just not going to be easy.)

But all that said, I think having a safe place to bet, on top of the perks mentioned above, are more than worth the tradeoff. I simply can’t figure out why anyone wouldn’t want to bet here.

That’s not just hype, either. Just read what others have to say about them (a couple sections further down the page), or simply Google them.

What sports does Pinnacle cover?

Betting on CrossFit is an option I’ve not seen before. You can bet on the CrossFit Games, which includes markets such as:

Most of the options are the same – if you think so-and-so will win the games. But it’s a start, and this might be even more popular next year. This could mean more betting options.

Everything else on the list is pretty standard.

Another area we’ve been focusing on quite a bit lately is esports. These are video game competitions where both individuals and teams compete for hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars, in prize money.

With all that money at stake, it should come as no surprise that you can now bet on these matches.

Pinnacle was one of the first to take bets on esports back in 2010, and in 2017 they had one of the largest esports betting sections online.

They’ve even won a few awards for it, including esports Bookmaker of the Year from SBC and EGR esports Operator of the Year – both won in 2016.

It also looks like they offer live esports betting, though there weren’t any live matches going when I was there.

But that makes up the bulk of what Pinnacle offers. As matches come and go, then chances are what’s available to bet on will also change.

But that only covers your betting options – not everything esports-related Pinnacle offers.

One of the unique non-betting things from Pinnacle is their esports hub. You’ll find all sorts of things here, such as:

• Upcoming tournaments

You’ll also find an interesting timeline of their esports betting product, starting from the first bet they took back in 2010. The timeline leads all the way up to their 1 millionth bet, which they took in 2014.

What’s neat about this is that on their blog they also documented “the road to five million esports bets,” which you can see on their site. Notice how fast they went from 4 to 5 million – only a matter of months – which is pretty crazy.

Pinnacle also has dedicated social media channels for their esports hub, such as their Twitter account.

Overall – they have a lot to offer if you’re into esports betting. I only expect this aspect of their business to grow, too. What else would you expect from a company whose ‘Head of Sportsbook’ is an avid esports gamer?

What are their betting limits?

They offer some of the highest betting limits online.

It doesn’t look like they post them on their site, but they say they’re displayed at all times on the member’s side and are the same for all players.

I did manage to dig up some examples, though. For example, you can bet:

• As much as $30,000 on Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Budesliga and UCL handicaps.
• As much as $10,000 on NFL handicaps.
• As much as $30,000 on tennis Grand Slam Finals.
• As much as $10,000 on NFL sides.

And once you bet the maximum on your ticket, you can immediately wager the max amount again – and so on, and so forth.

But don’t think that Pinnacle’s only interested in bets from whales – they accept small bettors, too. You can bet for as little as $1 (or the equivalent in your currency).

How do you access their sportsbook?

You can access it from your browser – no download’s necessary. It’s mobile responsive too, which means you can go straight to Pinnacle from your mobile device and start placing bets. You can build a bet ticket without being logged in, fund your account and have access to one click live odds.

Opinions are overwhelmingly positive. I have yet to see a flat-out negative review. Here are some of the reviews/ratings I’ve seen thus far:

There are some that don’t like Pinnacle, but they’re the minority. Even then the reviews admit that they still bet at Pinnacle.

The bottom line – if you’re looking for a sportsbook and you’re able to make an account here, you should.

What software does Pinnacle use for their casino? What kinds of games can you play? How many are there?

They use Global Gaming Labs and MultiSlot. They cover the basics – slots, video poker, table games, keno, etc. Here’s how their games break down by category:

This gives you 75+ games to play. This is a much smaller casino than we’re used to, but I imagine most people come here for the sportsbook and then stick around to spend some of their winnings in the casino.

What are some examples of games you can play?

Slots

One thing that sticks out to me are the lack of licensed slot machines. For example, Monopoly, Life, The Dark Knight, 60’s Batman, Brides Maids, Terminator and Game of Thrones.

That sucks. Especially since Pinnacle is a legit (and licensed) casino. Why not add some Microgaming, NetEnt or Playtech slots to the mix?

The good news is they do have lots of fun themes to choose from. Slots that stick out to me include Space Bucks (space/sci-fi), Tropical Aquarium (fish), Goblin Hideout (fantasy) and Slot Boss (crime).

Video Poker

Not bad. Though I’d gladly trade the three 25-line machines for 3 completely different video poker variants.

Table Games

Card Games

This is a pretty weak selection overall. Where’s War? Pontoon? Caribbean holdem? Tri-card poker? Even if you could find additional (unique) games in their live dealer section, not everyone wants to play live dealer games (more expensive, slower, social, etc.). So, it’d be nice to see a few more regular table game options added here.

Live Casino

The good news is that they offer casino hold’em, which they don’t in their regular card game section. They also have different roulette games. Unfortunately, I feel like there’s already enough of those games, though. I’d like to see a little more variety.

Their limits for their live dealer games start at $5 and are as high as $5,000-$10,000 for the card games, and as high as $100,000 for roulette.

How do you access their casino?

I don’t see a download, only their browser casino. So, this means that Windows, Mac and Linux users should be able to access their casino just fine.

They advertise that Pinnacle’s casino is mobile-friendly. However, I couldn’t check them out on my phone without an account.

What do we think of their casino overall?

It’s okay. I’m not sure I’d sign up here solely for their casino – not when there are far bigger options out there (888, Bet365, Will Hill). But I think it makes a great addition to their sportsbook.

The exception is if you’re looking for an online casino. Because while Pinnacle does cover the basics – games like blackjack, live roulette and some slots – which will make most people happy for a LITTLE while – I think it’s a far better use of someone’s time to find a full-blown casino with hundreds of games.

If you’re into bonuses and fee-free banking, despite getting stuck with unfair rollover terms or high-priced bets, then you’re not going to be happy here, either.
