Playamo Casino Review

Chances are you’ve heard of Bitcoin before.

If not, it’s a crypto (virtual) currency that’s been in the news the past couple of years. This is partly because it’s a new “investment” vehicle, and partly because its value has fluctuated wildly since its inception.

We’re talking $500 one day, $5,000 the next. Or, $17,000 one day, a crash the next.

We’ve written plenty about Bitcoin elsewhere on the site. If you don’t know anything about it, much less care, that’s okay. Because Playamo is a hybrid casino, you can join and play with regular money instead.

But if you want to know about it, including why you might want to use it, we recommend you check out our other resources before continuing with this review.

It’s because Playamo accepts Bitcoin that we were so interested in writing this review. They’re one of those hybrid casinos that let you deposit and play in both crypto and fiat currencies.

There are several reasons why this matters:

  • It brings normal and Bitcoin software developers together to create a unique list of games rarely found elsewhere.
  • It means that there may be games you’ve never seen or played before.
  • Some Bitcoin games allow you to check whether they’re provably fair. You can’t do this with normal casino games.

No one ever complained about having too many banking options before either.

Anyway, those are a few of the many reasons why we were excited to review Playamo. We hope you’ll feel the same way, but you’ll have to read the review to find out.

We’ve done our best to present you with an honest, unbiased look at Playamo in 2020. That way you can make an informed decision about whether you think you’ll like playing here or not.

With that in mind, let’s jump into the review.

Basic Information

Playamo Casino is owned and operated by Direx N.V. The same company also owns other Bitcoin sites like BitStarz Casino, Play Casino and QueenSpin Casino.

Playamo launched in 2016, so they’re still shiny and new.

They have their license through Softswiss N.V. This is worth noting because Softswiss is a gambling software developer with a focus on Bitcoin casinos. They have more than 2,000 games on their platform from more than 20 of the industry’s best developers. That includes the likes of NetEnt, Microgaming, Evolution, Amatic and EGT.

You excited yet?
You should be!

Other players certainly are. Softswiss’ platforms process more than $10 million monthly, 100+ million bets, and have launched more than 40+ casinos in the past 3 years.

Maybe there’s something to this Bitcoin thing after all?

Restricted Countries

Players from the following countries cannot play at Playamo Casino:

  • Israel
  • Spain
  • UK
  • France
  • USA
  • Turkey

There are also many games that are prohibited to players in certain countries. If this is something you’re concerned about or if you have a specific software provider or game in mind you want to play, then we recommend you read their terms and conditions to see if it’s available to you.

The Casino

Let’s talk about Playamo’s casino.

As we mentioned above, what’s interesting about them is that you can play in Bitcoin. One benefit to playing in Bitcoin is that you can often play in smaller amounts. Another benefit is that some (Bitcoin) games let you check whether they’re provably fair.

We weren’t able to take advantage of these benefits during our review. We didn’t find any games that offered the provably fair option and we didn’t deposit any money. But keep your eyes out for those options because they do exist.

There’s one other thing to address before we get into the games you can play.

You’ll notice that there’s a little overlap between the games in the Bitcoin section and the other sections of the casino. Those are the games that accept both currencies. We only listed the games in the other sections to avoid confusion. Just make sure you check out their Bitcoin section if that’s something you think you’re interested in.

Also keep in mind that game selection varies from one country to the next.

Table Games

The first thing you’ll notice is that Playamo Casino doesn’t have your standard table or card games sections. Instead, you’ll find blackjack, roulette, live casino and Bitcoin games.

This is unnecessary. We’d rather have all the table and card games under one heading with filters you can use to weed out the games you don’t want to play.

This is especially important here, as they have several table games that aren’t easy to find. We didn’t know they existed until we used the search feature. Unfortunately, this means that lots of players don’t even know they exist.

If you make your web browser smaller, or visit their mobile casino, you’ll notice that they do have a table game heading. This combines their blackjack and roulette sections together. It’s not clear why they don’t do this for their desktop casino.

Anyway, here are some of the table games you’ll find here:

  • European Blackjack
  • Blackjack Multihand Pro
  • Blackjack Surrender
  • Pontoon
  • Double Exposure BJ
  • Blackjack
  • Single Deck Blackjack
  • Super 7 Blackjack
  • 21 Burn Blackjack
  • Blackjack Pragmatic Play
  • Atlantic City Blackjack
  • American Roulette
  • French Roulette
  • VIP European Roulette
  • VIP American Roulette
  • Caribbean Poker
  • Triple Edge Poker
  • Trey Poker
  • Ride’m Poker
  • Poker3 Heads Up
  • Oasis Poker

And more!

They offer live casino games, too. We’ll show you some examples of the live dealer games you can play in just a second.

The most difficult thing for us was finding all their card games. We had to use their search feature to uncover games we didn’t see in their main sections. We recommend you do the same if you know what games you’re looking for.

That’s about the extent of the downsides, though.

The graphics look good and the games are intuitive to use. You can also check them out for play money first before you commit to playing with real money.

Their table limits start at $1. The highest table limits we found are $500, though most tables we found peaked at $100.

You can also play their table games from your mobile web browser. This will go for iOS, Android and any other device that can use one of the popular web browsers and is compatible with Flash.

Their mobile selection is a tad smaller than what’s listed above.

We thought their mobile section was pretty good, regardless.

Video Poker

Next up, their video poker games.

It was difficult for us to see what video poker games they have because they don’t have a dedicated section for them.

We had to improvise by using their search bar and our knowledge of what video poker games exist. If you don’t have that knowledge, then you’re going to struggle to find their games.

The good news is that we listed the games we found below. Here’s what we found:

  • Pyramid Joker Poker
  • Pyramid Bonus Poker
  • Jacks or Better
  • Wild Texas
  • Joker Poker
  • Mutlihand All American
  • Pyramid Deuces Wild
  • Multihand Deuces Wild
  • Deuces Wild
  • Deuces and Jokers
  • Bonus Deuces

If you want to play any of them, simply type the game into the search bar and it’ll come up if it’s available to you.

You can’t fail typing in poker, video, jacks, pyramid or joker, either.

As for stakes, they vary; we found machines that let you wager anywhere from $0.40 to $100 for 100 hands.

The graphics looked okay, though this largely depends on the machine you play (and the software provider who created it). Some video poker machines look like they’re 30 years old, while others look like they were created recently.

What’s important, though, is that every machine we tested worked.

That goes for mobile users, too. However, because there’s not a dedicated video poker section, it was difficult to find any poker games from our smartphone. It’s also difficult to truly gauge how many titles they have for mobile users.

And while their mobile graphics looked good, we thought that the jacks or better machine we tested was too small. It didn’t utilize the full screen, which made it difficult to see and use.

That said, your mileage may vary since phone and tablet screen sizes vary.

Here’s a few of the slot machines you’ll find at Playamo Casino:

  • Aztec Magic
  • Arising Phoenix
  • Brave Viking
  • Platinum Lightning
  • Wild Shark
  • Desert Treasure
  • Princess Royal
  • Hot Star
  • The Viking
  • Temple Cats
  • The Vampires
  • Stone Age
  • Hot Seven
  • Zeus
  • Year of The Monkey
  • Zombie Slot Mania
  • Wizard of Gems
  • Wolf Gold
  • Winning Wizards
  • Wild Orient
  • Wild Blood
  • What on Earth
  • Wicked Circus
  • Weekend in Vegas
  • Weird Science
  • Wicked Witch
  • Wacky Panda
  • Victorian Villain
  • Under the Bed
  • Troll Hunters
  • Tomb Raider
  • Terminator 2
  • Tarzan
  • Spooky Family
  • The Slotfather
  • Rockstar
  • Rambo
  • Platoon
  • More Gold Diggin’

And more!

They have a unique and diverse selection of games.

Right off the bat, we noticed they had licensed slot machines. Those are slots that revolve around movies, TV shows, characters, celebrities, video games and more.

People enjoy playing these because they’re fans of the show, person, franchise, etc. Whenever we go to Vegas, these are the machines we look for first.

We saw several licensed machines browsing their slots section. A few examples include Terminator, Tomb Raider, Platoon, Rambo and Tarzan.

But those barely scrape the surface as to what you’ll find here.

Playamo also has a robust selection of 3D slots, thanks to their partnership with Betsoft. These are Betsoft’s claim to fame. They’re worth checking out, even if you only play them for free.

Some of our favorite 3D titles include Under the Bed, The Slot Father and Madder Scientist.

No matter what slots you enjoy playing, though, you’ll find them here. And that’s because Playamo works with some of the best software developers in the industry.

For example, you can play slots from:

  • Amatic
  • Belatra
  • Betsoft gaming
  • EGT
  • Endorphina
  • Evolution
  • Ezugi
  • GameArt
  • Habanero
  • iSoftBet
  • Play’n GO
  • Pragmatic Play
  • Quickfire
  • SoftSwiss
  • Spinomenal
  • Yggdrasil

It’s no wonder why this is the strongest section in their casino.

Live Dealer Games

Last up, Playamo’s live casino.

They offer a relatively large and diverse selection of live dealer games from Evolution Gaming and Ezugi. Some of the games you can play include:

  • Auto Roulette La Partage
  • Auto Roulette
  • Dream Catcher
  • Baccarat
  • Live Baccarat
  • Auto Roulette VIP
  • Baccarat Squeeze
  • Casino Hold’em
  • Blackjack VIP
  • Blackjack White
  • Blackjack Grand VIP
  • Immersive Roulette
  • Blackjack Platinum VIP
  • Bet on Numbers
  • Auto Roulette
  • Russian Live Blackjack
  • Live Keno

And more!

Right off the bat, we noticed they offered a few games you don’t see offered (live) often. For example, keno and bet on numbers.

We also found several variants. For example, you can choose between male or female dealers. You can also choose the language they speak; we found dealers that spoke Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

Another unique thing about their live dealer games is that the Ezugi tables offer the option to play for fun. This is almost unheard of, as live dealer games are like offline table games; seats are limited. Online casinos don’t let you play for fun because that’s a seat a paying player could otherwise occupy.

We couldn’t check out Evolution’s tables without creating a full-blown profile. But we checked out Ezugi’s and found that they offered limits ranging from $5-$1,000 for blackjack and roulette. Though, given our experience reviewing Evolution’s games, we would not be surprised if their table limits are high as $75,000.

We would rather play Evolution’s games, too. While Ezugi has some nice features and variants, the games we checked out looked like their resolution was low and fuzzy. A few of their games had considerable lag, too.

They were playable, though. We wouldn’t pass them up if that’s all we had to choose from.

Banking Options

The following are the banking options accepted at Playamo Casino. We’ve also listed their fees, processing time frame, limits and overall thoughts.

The payment options Playamo Casino accepts, as well as their limits and fees, include:

Payment Method Fee Processing Time Limits Per Transaction
Visa Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
MasterCard Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Maestro Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Skrill Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Neteller Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Wire Transfer Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Bitcoin 0.2% Instant $/€5 - $/€4,000
Webmoney Free Instant $/€10 - $/€10,000
QIWI 2.5% Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Comepay Free Instant $/€10 - $/€1,000
Trustly Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Paysafecard Free Instant $/€10 - $/€4,000
Ecopayz Free Instant $/€10 - $/€1,000

The $4,000 deposit limit on most of these options seem low. It’s also hard to believe that, being as they’re a hybrid casino, they charge a fee to deposit with Bitcoin.

With that being said, however, everything else looks pretty standard.

Your options for cash outs include:

Payment Method Fee Processing Time Limits Per Transaction
Visa Free 1 - 3 banking days $/€20 - $/€4,000
Webmoney Free Instant $/€10 - $/€10,000
Skrill Free Instant $/€20 - $/€4,000
Neteller Free Instant $/€20 - $/€4,000
Ecopayz Free Instant $/€10 - $/€1,000
Wire Transfer Free 1 - 3 banking days $/€20 - $/€4,000
Bitcoin 0.2% Instant $/€20 - $/€4,000
Comepay Free Instant $/€10 - $/€1,000

Other than there being fewer options, just about everything else about their cash out options are identical to their deposit options.

The minimum cash out is $40, except for Bitcoin, which has no minimum. This is great, as it’s within range of players on the tiniest of budgets.

They list a minimum cash out for Bitcoin ($20), but say in their terms that there’s no minimum cash out for it. We recommend erring on the side of the $20 minimum, and just being surprised if it doesn’t apply to you.

The max limit seems small, but only until you realize that it’s their DAILY limit. Not only that, but they have a $16,000 weekly and $50,000 monthly limit. Exceptions may be made for high ranking VIP members.

We can definitely get behind these limits, as most other casinos have limits that are a mere fraction of these. But while this is good news, it gets even better.

There are no limits on progressive jackpot wins. If you win a jackpot, Playamo Casino will pay you in full.

Playamo deserves major brownie points for that.

Bonus Promotions

Playamo has 5 bonuses running right now. Here are the details for each one.

  • First Deposit Bonus – Make your first deposit and you’ll receive a 100% match bonus up to $100. This bonus also comes with 100 free spins for you to use on the Lucky Lady’s Clover slot machine. You’ll receive the free spins twenty at a time, over a five-day period.

You’ll want to keep in mind that this offer has a 50x playthrough. That goes for your winnings from the free spins too.

  • Second Deposit Bonus – This is a 50% match bonus up to $200. You’ll also receive 50 free spins you can use on the Lucky Blue slot machine.
  • Friday Reload – This is a 50% match reload bonus up to $100. You’ll also receive 100 free spins for you to use on the Brave Viking slot machine. You’ll receive the first 50 free spins within 24 hours. You’ll receive the 2nd batch of 50 about a day later.
  • Monday Free Spins – Make a deposit on Monday and you’ll receive 100 free spins for you to use on the Jack and the Beanstalk or Evolution slot machine. You can claim this offer every week.
  • High Roller Bonus – This is a MASSIVE deposit bonus. Make a deposit of at least $1,000 and receive a 50% match up to $2,000.

And that’s it for their evergreen offers.

Unfortunately, none of these offers are available to BTC players. Each offer also has a base 50x playthrough. But it’s higher if you choose to play games like video poker, baccarat, blackjack and roulette.

You’ll want to see their terms and conditions for a full break down of what requirements you need to fulfill before you can cash out your winnings.

VIP Program

Playamo also has a VIP program. The premise is pretty simple – play games and you’ll earn points (called CPs). The more points you earn, the higher up the ladder you’ll climb.

There are 10 levels to this program. Those include:

  • Amateur – For everyone who signs up.
  • Rookie – 50 CPs
  • Intermediate – 200 CPs
  • Pro – 600 CPs
  • Star – 1,500 CPs
  • Superstar – 4,000 CPs
  • VIP – 15,000 CPs
  • Diamond – 200,000 CPs
  • Royal – 750,000 CPs
  • Godlike – 5,000,000 CPs

Along the way you’ll collect prizes. The first few levels offer free spins. Levels 6-9 offer cash prizes as high as $10,000.

If you manage to get to level 10, not only will you collect more than $11,000 and 325 free spins, but you’ll also win a Ferrari 488 GTB.

That’s pretty cool... and unique.

Points are awarded at the rate of 1 point for every $12.50 wagered. You got a lot of work ahead of you if you’re goal is to collect the keys to that Ferrari.

For those of us with lower ambitions, it looks like you can exchange your points for cash back too. The exchange rate is $1 for every 100 points you turn in.

While this isn’t the most in-depth or sophisticated VIP program we’ve ever seen, it’s unique in its simplicity …and the fact that you can win a luxurious sportscar.

But only once you spend $62,500,000 ($12.50*5,000,000 CPs).

Good luck!

Mobile Friendliness

Playamo Casino Screenshot from iPhonePlayamo Casino doesn’t have a download. They have an instant play casino instead. This means that you’ll access their casino and play their games from your browser.

This works across all the major web browsers. That includes Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. We recommend Chrome.

This applies to mobile users, too. Playamo doesn’t have native apps, so you’ll access their casino from your mobile browser. This goes for iOS, Android and Windows devices.

We checked their mobile casino out from our newer iPhone. We had no problems, other than a few games running a little slow. But we think it was an issue with the game, as we experienced the same issue on the same game from our desktop.

Our other complaint is that their navigation is a little different from their desktop navigation. This can cause some initial confusion for some people.

They also don’t have any filters. This makes it harder to find the games you want to play given the smaller and more vague navigation.

Everything else worked fine for us.

Customer Support

Playamo Casino offers support via the following channels:

You can also send an email using the form on their contact page.

We sent them an email and heard back from them in less than 2 hours. We’ll give them two thumbs up for that!

We’re impressed with Playamo.

There are a few things we’d like to see changed or improved. For example, they need to organize their games better. Using standard tabs like table games and card games would work. Filters would be a big help too.

That’s our biggest complaint though. Everything else about them is pretty solid.

For example, they have a neat VIP program. You don’t get a lot from it, just some free spins or cash bonuses. But if you’re loyal enough and have deep enough pockets, you can eventually earn a Ferrari.

Other casinos could definitely take a page from Playamo’s banking playbook, too. You can cash out as much as $50,000 per month here. They pay progressives in full, too.

Like we said, we’re impressed with Playamo Casino!

For that reason, it’s easy for us to recommend them to our readers. Check them out now if you’re in the neighborhood for a new online casino.

You can thank us later.
