Detailed Review of High Country Casino

Up for review is High Country Casino. If you’re an online gambling veteran, there’s a good chance HighCountryCasino.com will look familiar to you. They’re part of the Main Street brand of online casinos, which includes casinos like Las Vegas USA.

Most people aren’t excited to check out sister casinos since they’re often the same, but we have a different perspective.

We like reviewing similar online casinos because we want to see if they bring anything new to the table. We’re excited to see what new games and promotions they might have.

So, we were excited to conduct this High Country Casino review…and they didn’t disappoint.

We found a few new RealTime Gaming slot machines we’ve not seen from RTG in the past. And High Country Casino has a massive deposit bonus that you can use for slots and table games if you join today.

We’ll tell you all about their games and promotions in our review below. You’ll also learn about the things we didn’t like. We hold nothing back in our reviews, good or bad.

High Country Casino Basic Information

High Country Casino is a new online casino. You’re not going to find any information about them online other than what their parent company Main Street shares. And that’s not much.

What we can tell you is that Main Street has run online casinos for at least two decades now. Here are a few of their more popular brands.

  • Las Vegas USA
  • Slots Plus
  • Vegas Casino Online
  • Sun Palace Casino

Main Street’s casinos don’t have a perfect reputation or rating at every site on the web. But the consensus is that they are plenty safe to join and play at. There’s no reason to think High Country is any different.

Restricted Countries – Who Can Play

High Country Casino doesn’t state who they prohibit from using their site. Their terms say it’s up to each user to determine if they can use their site legally.

Though, if their sister site is any indication, we’d assume players from the following countries are prohibited from using High Country Casino for real money.

  • Bosnia
  • Herzegovina
  • Costa Rica
  • Germany
  • Spain
  • France
  • Morocco
  • Malaysia
  • Netherlands
  • Russian Federation

We recommend you read their terms and conditions before you sign up if you have any questions about whether you can play here. You can also reach out to their customer support.

Reviewing the Online Casino Platform

We were impressed with High Country Casino during our review. Main Street upgraded their software some time ago, and the improvements are clear. It’s now mobile responsive and has a modern look.

You can still tell their age, though, by the fact that they still offer a download. Most of the best online casinos nowadays have you play their games from your browser. You can do that at High Country too, if you prefer. They offer both a download for Windows and an instant play casino for everyone else.

We used their instant play casino for our review where we tested a handful of their 150+ slots, table games, and video poker games.

In the following sections of our High Country Casino review, we share a little about the games you can play here, the stakes you can play for, and the good and bad things we spotted when assessing the site.

Table Games

Their instant play casino lists 15 table games. They have separate tabs (Caribbean and 21) to help you find the games you want to play faster.

Here are the table games you can play.

  • Suit ‘Em Up Blackjack
  • Face Up 21
  • Blackjack
  • Pontoon
  • European Blackjack
  • Baccarat
  • Blackjack + Perfect Pairs
  • Let ‘Em Ride
  • Super 21
  • Caribbean Hold’em
  • Match Play 21
  • Tri Card Poker
  • Caribbean Stud
  • Pai Gow Poker
  • Vegas Three Card Rummy

Their table game software looks great. It’s a mix between realistic and animated graphics. It’s a higher quality than most casino mobile apps. This means it’s worth creating an account with High Country Casino even if you only want to play casino games for free.

Each game opens in a new browser window. We have mixed feelings about this because it was hard to keep track of all the games we were playing.

On the other hand, we like having the option to play more than one game at a time. This is a way to play more money/hands per hour, especially if the table limits are too low for you.

The table limits start at $1 which, when compared to betting $5 per hand playing live, is a bargain. The table maximums will vary, but the games we played had a $250 max. If this is too low, we recommend you play another game.

Overall, we’re happy with High Country’s table game selection. They have a nice mix of table games, variants, and even progressive games with jackpots which were as high as $200,000 during our review.

Video Poker

Here are some of the video poker machines you can play at High Country Casino.

  • Bonus Poker Deluxe
  • Jacks or Better
  • Double Jackpot Poker
  • Deuces Wild
  • Double Double Jackpot Poker
  • Sevens Wild
  • Joker Poker
  • All American Poker
  • Aces and Eights
  • Bonus Poker
  • Loose Deuces

High Country has roughly 12 to 14 video poker machines. The remaining 46 to 48 machines are multi-hand variants. You have the option to play three, ten, or 52 cards at a time.

The games we tested were great. They remind us of the machines we play whenever we visit our local casino. One thing we liked about their machines is that they have a double-up feature. Whenever you win a hand, you’re given a double or nothing offer. You play a mini game and, if you win, you’ll double your winnings and, if you lose, you lose everything.

We’ve seen these in the past, but we haven’t seen this specific game before. You play another video poker hand. You have one card and you can hold another. Then, the game replaces the remaining three cards. You win the gamble if you make a pair.

We don’t recommend you play the game if you want to reduce the house edge as much as possible. But if you like to gamble, check it out.

The highest stakes we found were $25 per hand. It’s possible you can find higher if you dig around, though $25 should satisfy most people.

Budget video poker players are good to go here, too. You can play for as little as $0.25 per hand, assuming you bet the max credits. And we recommend that you do.

Slots

High Country Casino has more than 125 slot machines. Here are some of the slot machines that stood out to us during our review.

  • T-Rex
  • Vulcan
  • Wild Wizards
  • Witch’s Brew
  • The Three Stooges II
  • Scuba Fishing
  • Jumping Beans
  • Magic Mushroom
  • Vulcan
  • Trigger Happy

High Country has a solid variety of slot themes. You can play slots based on fables, seasons, holidays, animals, money, and more.

One type of slot they don’t have is branded slots. These are slots based on movies, TV shows, and celebrities. This is a minor complaint, though. They have so many other fun and exciting slot machines that you probably won’t notice what they don’t have.

We tested a few machines during our review. We found that you can play for as little as $0.01 per line and that some machines minimum bets are relatively low. For example, you can play one machine for $0.13 per spin, which is dirt cheap.

The max stakes you can play depends on the machine. We found machines that allow you to wager $20 to $30 per spin. We didn’t check all 125+ of their machines, though, so you might find a machine with a higher maximum bet if you look around.

Our biggest complaint about their slots section is that they don’t have many filters you can use to quickly find a specific slot machine. The only filters they have are for reels, slots with bonuses, progressives, and floating symbols.

What’s more is that their filters aren’t accurate. For example, they have only three machines listed under their progressive jackpot filter. But they have many more than that.

This is a small complaint, though.

High Country Casino’s slot selection is impressive overall, and we think you’ll like it too.

Banking Options at High Country Casino

You won’t find many banking options at High Country Casino. This is a bummer since they accept American customers and it’s sometimes hard for Americans to make deposits or withdrawals.

There’s good news, though, the banking options they do accept have high success rates. The other good news is that High Country doesn’t charge fees for deposits or withdrawals. This is a pleasant surprise considering that most online casinos charge fees on at least withdrawals.

What’s frustrating about their banking options is their high minimum cash-out limits. The smallest minimum is $150, which will impact players on a budget.

On the bright side, the maximum cash-out limits start at $2,000 per week and peak at $5,000 per week for Diamond VIP members.

Withdrawal limits are much higher at High Country Casino than what you’ll find at many other online casinos.

Though, you’ll want to keep in mind that once you exceed $2,500 per week, you’ll have no choice but to use Bitcoin to cash out.

And then there’s their payment processing times. High Country says it takes up to two days for them to start processing your payment, which can take up to two weeks to complete. This is slow. That said, there are other benefits Americans can enjoy if they use banking options like Bitcoin, such as anonymity, speedy deposits, and higher success rates.

You’ll have to decide if their higher withdrawal limits and deposit success rates is worth the tradeoff for slower cash-outs.

Deposits

  • Visa | $20 – $5,000
  • Mastercard | $20 – $5,000
  • American Express | $20 – $5,000
  • Bitcoin | $5 – $5,000
  • Neteller (limited availability)

Withdrawals

  • Check by mail | $15 – $399.99
  • Check by courier | $400 – $2,500
  • Direct deposit | $150 – $1,250
  • Bitcoin | $150 – $5,000

Bonus Promotions at High Country Casino

High Country Casino offers multiple bonuses. The first bonus you’ll probably claim is the welcome bonus if you decide to join, so let’s start this section of our High Country Casino review there.

Welcome Bonus Plus Cash Back

High Country’s welcome promotion is a 500% match bonus up to $2,500. This means you need to only deposit $500 to claim the entire bonus. You don’t see offers this large that often anymore.

What’s also neat about this offer is that you can use it for select table and video poker games in addition to slots. What you’ll want to keep in mind is the playthrough.

The standard playthrough is 45 times the deposit and bonus which is high even for slot players. And the playthrough doubles if you choose to play table and video poker games. This is very high.

The second half of the offer is 50% cashback. You’ll receive 50% of your deposit paid back to you, the max is $250. This, too, will have a 45x playthrough. The game restrictions on the cashback is tighter than the welcome bonus, so you’ll want to read their terms if you plan to play anything other than slots.

Blackjack Reload Bonus

This is a reload bonus for blackjack and other “21” games.

Make a deposit of $25 or more and you’ll receive a 100% match bonus up to $250. You can use this offer for blackjack games only. Other casino games DO NOT count.

The playthrough on this bonus is 100x the deposit and bonus. And the most you can cash out is 20x the deposit, or $5,000.

Slots Reload Bonus

This is a reload bonus for slots, keno, bingo, and scratch card players. You can redeem this offer up to three times per day.

Make a deposit of $25 or more and you’ll receive a 200% match bonus up to $1,000. This means you only need to deposit $500 to fully claim this offer.

The playthrough on this offer is 40x the deposit and bonus. The maximum cash out is 20x your deposit, or $1,000.

Other High Country Casino Promotions

High Country Casino has an offer for every day of the week for existing players. Here are some of the promotions you can claim.

  • 200% match bonus
  • $500 bonus with no playthrough
  • 300% deposit bonus
  • 250% deposit bonus (for the weekend)
  • 20% cash back on Mondays for deposits made the previous week

High Country also has offers for special occasions such as your birthday, player anniversary, and the season of the year.

You can also earn $25 for every friend who makes a deposit of $50 or more through their Refer-a-Friend promotion.

VIP Program

High Country Casino has a VIP program, but their site doesn’t make it clear how their VIP program works.

What we do know is that there are five tiers — Regular, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Your level is determined by the number of comp points you earn, which you earn by playing real money games.

You’ll receive 1 comp point for every $8 to $15 you spend (which is high). And you can convert every 100 comp points into $1 in cashback.

We also found that your wager requirements drop the higher your VIP status. The playthrough varies from 30x to 90x depending on your VIP status and the games you play.

What’s not clear to us is whether you need to apply that number to your deposit and bonus, or if High Country Casino does the math for you.

The last benefit we dug up is the higher withdrawal limits posted in the previous section. We tried to find out more about their VIP program by sending High Country Casino an email. But all they told us is that a VIP representative will reach out if and when we qualify for the program.

Mobile Friendliness

Main Street’s casinos are all more mobile-friendly.

Their mobile casino is on a different platform. High Country Casino will redirect you automatically when you visit their site using your phone’s web browser.

Unlike their desktop casino, High Country forces you to create an account before you can access their mobile casino. This is a bummer since you can’t test their mobile games out before you join.

This is a minor complaint, though. Overall, they have a solid selection of mobile games that both Apple and Android users can play without downloading a native app.

High Country’s Customer Support

You can contact High Country Casino customer support by email or live chat.

We contacted them once during our High Country Casino review. They did a good job getting back to us. We received a response from them within a couple hours.

Unfortunately, they didn’t answer our question about their VIP program, sending us to their promotions pages instead. Had they read that page, they’d know that it wouldn’t answer our question.

So, we followed up and, once again, they responded fast. But they didn’t do any better answering our question about their VIP program than the first time. And instead of sending us any details, all they said was that a VIP rep would reach out once we qualified for their VIP program.

Ultimately, we have mixed feelings about their customer support. They responded quick, which was great, but they didn’t do the best job at answering our questions.

We think they can put forth a little more effort in this department.

Conclusion of Our High Country Casino Review

High Country Casino is a brand-new online casino, but they’re backed by a company that has more than two decades of online gambling experience.

They have more than 150 casino games, made up of a nice variety of slot machines, video poker, and table and specialty games.

High Country also has a generous deposit bonus. And you can claim their daily offers once you’re done with that.

The bottom line — our High Country Casino review revealed a solid online casino, and you should create your account today to give it a try for yourself.

Waiting for a payout its been a month

Slowest Payouts Ever! First, they will deceive you into thinking you’ve met the requirements for playthrough and bonus. Then, when you request a withdrawal, they deduct for a max cash out amount for a bonus code. Next, they will take 2 weeks to process your payout. Once they send the email that says the payout has been processed and
complete, it’s really not! There is a confirmation from “the provider” that is yet to be received via email. Finally, unlike other BTC payments, this payout can take hours up to a few days to be credited! When/IF I ever see my payout, I am shutting my account down. Steer clear of this casino!

  4. Amanda August 17, 2020 at 12:08 pm

The withdrawal amount after playthrough and bonus is deceiving. Where I had a withdrawal balance of $2300 after playthrough and bonus, this casino deducted even more stating that on top of the bonus and playthrough, I had winnings in excess of the bonus code used and, therefore deducted, leaving $848 eligible for withdrawal! It has been 2 weeks and now the excuse is that their 3rd party hasn’t processed the payment and will do so when it’s my turn! I probably should just kiss that $848 goodbye too! I will not play or recommend High Country to anyone in the future.

Beware! They don’t payout what you win and take away your winnings with various deductions and they don’t respond to your e-mail questions
