Our 2024 Play Fortuna Casino Review

Have you heard of Play Fortuna Casino?

I haven’t heard of them until today. Which I find a bit odd because they’ve been around for 4+ years now.

But maybe it’s because of their reviews and ratings.

The majority of reviews I’ve come across (from websites I trust) have mixed feelings about them. They gave PlayFortuna.com average ratings, for many reasons I can totally understand and get behind.

That said, they do have a good rating/review or three. Which makes my job of deciding whether we can recommend them to our readers a tad harder to do.

Curious to know what I ultimately decided on?

Keep reading to find out.

The Company Behind PlayFortuna.com

Who owns and operates Play Fortuna? How long have they been in business?

Playfortuna.com is operated by Netglobe Services Ltd. Their parent company name (according to their Curacao license) is Globonet LTD.

PlayFortuna.com has been online since 2013.

How’s their reputation? What do others think of them?

Funny thing – there’s not much about them around the web. Not as much as you’d think, at least, considering they’ve been online for 4+ years now.

Here’s what others say about them:

  • Casinomeiser.com – In the Grey Zone (6.5/10). They’re in the Grey Zone since they’re solely licensed in Curacao, which according to CM means they’re basically unregulated. Other than that, CM isn’t a fan of their withdrawal limits.
  • LatestCasinoBonuses.com – (2.4/5) The biggest complaints from LCB.com are the cash out limits based on player status. Cashouts are only processed from Monday to Friday, which is another complaint.
  • AskGamblers.com – A Certified casino (8.07/10). There are 4 complaints here – 3 are resolved and 1 is rejected (in favor of the casino).

You could say their reputation is average-ish.

The regulation thing is a bit worrisome, but that’s the case at many casinos these guys recommend. If you want tight regulations and rules – something most people would agree is a good thing – then you should be playing at the Bet365s, 888s and Will Hills of the world. Not some random casino.

So, I’m not sure I feel the same way about that.

That said, I DO feel the same way about Play Fortuna’s cash out limits. I think they’re too restrictive, and I wouldn’t play here because of them.

But, it’s not as if Play Fortuna is hiding them. You know what you’re getting yourself into – assuming you read their terms and/or every word of this review – as you should be doing.

The bottom line – you know what you’re getting into BEFORE you sign up. I saw no danger outside of this in terms of scam/scandal accusations, so I think their reputation is fine.

Banking Methods Accepted

What payment methods does Play Fortuna accept?

You can make a deposit using:

  • Credit cards
  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • WebMoney
  • Mobile phone
  • Qiwi
  • Interkassa
  • PayAnyWay
  • Perfect Money
  • Bitcoin
  • Neteller
  • Skrill

What are your cash out options? Are there any limits or fees?

Your cash out options include:

  • Credit cards
  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • WebMoney
  • Yandex
  • mobile phone
  • Qiwi
  • Skrill
  • Bitcoin
  • PayAnyWay
  • Neteller
They process cash outs Monday to Friday.

The amount you can cash out depends on your player account/status. Here’s what that looks like:

Status Daily Limit Weekly Limit Monthly Limit
New $750 $2,250 $6,000
Silver $1,200 $3,000 $7,500
Gold $1,500 $4,500 $12,000
VIP $2,250 $7,500 $22,500
Platinum $3,000 $11,250 $30,000

They also have this rule, which I think is a bit messed up:

The amount of bets for the player must exceed their deposit(-s) at least three times from the moment of the last payout or zero balance. Should the player refuse to make the required amount of bets, Play Fortuna reserves the right to withhold a 10% commission on the withdrawn amount and to nullify winnings coming from bonuses, free spins or added points;

I think that’s a pretty steep requirement, in terms of both the rollover and 10% commission. Both are much higher than you’d see at other casinos.

Promotions

Do they offer a welcome bonus? What are the terms?

I think so.

I’m not 100% sure because their Bonuses link from their main navigation is broken – it goes to a 404 page. The only offers I was able to find was in their content slider at the top.

Here’s what I managed to find out:

  • Welcome Bonus – This is a 100% match bonus. Deposit $10 and you’ll get your $10 bonus and 15 free spins to use on the Fairytale Legends: Hansel and Gretel. Deposit $30 and get your $30 bonus plus 50 free spins.

The max you can claim from this offer is $500. The playthrough is 20x the bonus.

What additional promotions can you claim?

I didn’t see any other offers, but I did email them to ask what else they may have. I haven’t heard back yet. I’ll update this if/when I do.

One thing that’s sort of promo-ish are their slot tournaments. It looks like these run for a week or so at a time. The winners share a 3,000,000-point prize pool.

What’s neat about these tournaments is that the games you can play change from tournament to tournament. It keeps the tournament from getting stale.

It looks like they run these tournaments every week or two weeks. You can see them all on their site.

Do they have a comps and/or VIP program?

It looks like it.

Their VIP program, or rather your player status, is largely, if not completely determined by the number of deposits you make in a 30-day period.

Here’s what that looks like:

Status Amount of Deposits for the Month
Silver $250 or equivalent
Gold $1,000 or equivalent
VIP $2,500 or equivalent
Platinum $5,000 or equivalent

Once you reach a tier you’ll need to do it again the following month to keep it. That may or may not be worth it to you depending on your opinion of the following VIP perks:

Status New Silver Gold VIP Platinum
Weekly return Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
Coefficient of point calculation 1 1.05 1.1 1.15 1.2
Wagers of bonuses x45 x40 x35 x35 x30
Participation in promotions and sweepstakes No No Yes Yes Yes
Free entry to special tournaments No No No Yes Yes
Personal Manager No No No Yes Yes

I think these are okay. It’d be better if they let you keep your status for a few weeks or an extra month. Because I can see how it could get a bit tiring and expensive to maintain the higher VIP levels each month.

They should at least let the higher tiers keep their statuses for 1-2 months at a time.

But there’s that. They do a points-for-cashback program, too.

You’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend. Every 1,000 points will be worth $1 in cash back.

However, as you move up you’ll earn cashback at a faster rate – somewhere between 5-20% depending on your status.

You can also get an improved exchange rate, depending on your status and the number of points you have.

Here’s what that looks like:

Points Exchange Ratio Level
0 0 Newcomer
1 000 1 000 First-timer
5 000 975* Junior
10 000 950* Amateur
20 000 925* Active player
50 000 900* Eхpert
100 000 800* Professional
200 000 700* Master
500 000 600* Reputable player
1 000 000 500* Sage

It’s pretty cool you can basically cut the exchange rate in half with enough deposits and points. Though you have to spend a lot of money before you’ll have 1,000,000 points to turn in.

I wonder if anyone has actually managed to pull that off.

Games

What software providers do they work with? What kinds of games can you play?

The software providers that PlayFortuna.com works with include:

  • Elk Studios
  • Microgaming
  • NetEnt
  • NextGen Gaming
  • Push Gaming
  • Quickspin
  • Thunderkick
  • Yggdrasil

These are top-notch software companies with some of the best games in the business. You’ll get to choose from a variety of slots, progressive jackpot games, live dealer, table and video poker games.

We’ll look at some examples here in just a minute.

What devices are compatible with their casino? Are they mobile compatible?

PlayFortuna.com is an instant play casino – no download’s needed – you play all their games from your browser window.

Their casino is mobile-responsive, too – this means you should have no problem playing their games from most modern mobile devices.

What are some examples of games you can play?

Here are some examples of the games you’ll find at Play Fortuna and any thoughts we may have about them.

Slots

  • 300 Shields
  • Sticky Bandits
  • Bikini Party
  • Valley Of The Gods
  • Chibeasties 2
  • Crystal Queen
  • Dragon Sisters
  • Emoticoins
  • Oinks Country Love
  • Playboy
  • Rainbow Ryan
  • Age of Discovery
  • 5 Reel Drive
  • 108 Heroes
  • Alice In Wonderslots
  • Arctic Fortune
  • Alaskan Fishing
  • Andre The Giant
  • Asian Beauty
  • Attack of The Zombies
  • Avalon And Avalon Ii
  • Bar Bar Black Sheep
  • Beauty & The Beat
  • Big Blox
  • Bullseye
  • Bridesmaids
  • Break Da Bank Again
  • Bobby7s
  • Bride Zilla
  • Big Kahuna
  • Candy Dreams
  • Castle Builder
  • Cashville
  • Clash of Queens
  • Cool Wolf
  • Cool Buck
  • Cosmic Cat
  • Couch Potato
  • Dino Might
  • Doubles
  • Dr Watts Up
  • Diamond Chief
  • Fish Party
  • Game of Thrones
  • Galacticons
  • Foxin Wins
  • Genie Wild
  • Golden Dragon
  • Goldilocks and The Wild Bears
  • Golden Fish Tank

Most of what I saw were your generic slot machines. The ones where you wouldn’t recognize the title, but you’d recognize the theme; the type of slots that make up 90% of a casino’s slot selection.

In other words, they have slots revolving around:

  • Sci-fi
  • Halloween
  • Horror
  • Asia
  • Fairytales
  • Racing
  • Music
  • Fruit
  • Candy
  • Animals
  • Sports
  • Cats
  • Money
  • 80s

And so on.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t have any licensed titles. They do – you just have to search for them. For example, here are a few licensed slot titles I found:

  • Game of Thrones
  • Hellboy
  • Hitman
  • Jurassic Park
  • Jurassic World
  • Playboy
  • Terminator 2
  • Tomb Raider

And so on.

One type of slot I didn’t see much of – other than Hellboy – are slots revolving around comic book heroes. But that’s not as much a complaint as it is an observation.

Live Games

  • Roulette
  • Blackjack
  • Hold’em
  • Baccarat
  • Playboy Baccarat
  • Playboy Blackjack
  • Playboy Roulette
  • VIP Roulette (Min $2 Bet)
  • Live Blackjack (Min $5 Bet)
  • Automatic Roulette (Min $2 Bet)

Most of the games here are the same, but with different dealers or table minimums.

What I liked about some of these is that they post the min/max limits. What I liked even more is that some of these games have min betting limits as low as $2, which isn’t much higher than your traditional online table game.

Table Games

  • Big Five Blackjack
  • Baccarat
  • Atlantic City Blackjack
  • American Roulette
  • Double Exposure
  • Cyberstud Poker
  • Classic Blackjack
  • European Blackjack
  • French Roulette
  • High Limit Blackjack
  • Vegas Downtown Blackjack
  • Hilo 13 European Blackjack
  • High Limit European Blackjack
  • Multi Wheel Roulette
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Spanish Blackjack
  • Super Fun 21
  • Vegas Single Deck
  • Triple Pocket Hold’em Poker
  • Premier Roulette Diamond Edition

There were almost 50 table games unavailable to me (using a VPN thru Canada). But even the list above and the games available that I DIDN’T include would be more than enough. So, they have a good selection of table games for sure.

Video Poker

  • Aces & Eights
  • Aces & Faces
  • All Aces Poker
  • All American Poker
  • Bonus Deuces Wild
  • Bonus Poker
  • Double Bonus Poker
  • Jacks or Better
  • Flash Double Joker Poker
  • Double Double Bonus
  • Tens or Better Power Poker
  • Louisiana Double Poker

There were a few other duplicate variants, as well as nearly 10 video poker games that were unavailable to players in Canada. Overall, they have more than 20 different video poker machines.

Lottery

The following list of games are from their lottery tab that’s within the row of other game tabs. This isn’t the main lottery link in their main navigation, which I was unable to access without an account.

  • Monkey Keno
  • Bunny Boiler
  • Bubble Bonanza
  • Dawn of The Bread
  • Darts
  • Electro Bingo
  • Four by Four
  • Halloweenies
  • Hairy Fairies
  • Golden Ghouls
  • Granny Prix
  • Samba Bingo
  • Six Shooter Looter

Nothing to add here. This is just your standard list of scratch tickets and general games.

Overall Thoughts

They have an excellent casino. Plenty of volume and variety – two things all casinos should have.

There’s nothing that stood out as something I wish I had or could play.

One thing to keep in mind while playing here is that there may be games unavailable to you due to where you’re playing from. This isn’t because of PlayFortuna.com, but instead the software provider and the rules they have to follow.

You’ll know when this is happening when a game has “This Game is Currently Unavailable in This Country” written over it and is unclickable.

That’s probably my biggest complaint, yet it’s no one’s fault, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

Conclusion

What do we think of PlayFortuna.com? Do we recommend them to our readers?

They seem like a solid casino. It’s funny I haven’t heard of them until now.

I wish they had more offers. But they do have a VIP program and comps-to-cashback incentive.

Other than that, my biggest complaint is how they tie their cash outs to your player level. You have to deposit so much money to be able to cash out a max of $30,000 per month.

That’s bogus. If you have $5,000 to spend per month gambling, there’s a good chance you can wager enough to hit a jackpot or big win here and there. In other words, it’s very possible with that bankroll to 6x it playing slots and table games.

My point — $30,000 is a bit restrictive. And I think it’s only worse for players on the bottom tiers.

I didn’t see anything about excluding VIPs or progressive jackpot winners from this rule, either. That’s a bummer.

Last thing – their 3x rollover on your deposit prior to cashing out or else you’ll get hit with a 10% penalty, is over the line. I’ve seen this rollover rule before, which I assume is to reduce deposits-to-immediate-cash outs, thus high processing costs.

But this is too much.

All that said, they have a solid casino and an okay reputation. Any negatives I mentioned are largely due to their crappy banking/cash out terms.

I don’t think PlayFortuna.com would be my first choice because of their terms and cash out limits.

But if they don’t bother you, then I see no other reason not to check them out.
