Experienced players looking to exert a diverse skillset may enjoy other high RTP (99.6%) variants like Pirate 21 or Rolling Stack.

The live casino lobby consists of a number of standards, VIP (high-stake), and early payout blackjack tables with limits suited for all types of players. These limits range from as little as between $5 (early payout) to $20,000 (VIP). Providers of this lobby include Visionary iGaming and Fresh Deck Studios.

We particularly enjoyed the availability of daily blackjack tournaments with prize pools between $5-20K. These tournaments aren’t subject to any entry fees, and rebuys are only $5.

The blackjack lobby boasts an impressive collection of 14 software-based blackjack variations, provided by five leading software developers, including Betsoft, Nucleus Gaming, and Rival Gaming.

The lobby contains multiple listings of titles like multihand or single deck blackjack, each offered by a different developer. Multiple developers contribute to a vibrant landscape of unique game features. For instance, there is a Visionary iGaming Wild Diamonds 7’s side bet for $1. This bet offers players a shot at 3 prizes – $100 for any 3 7s, $1,000 for any 3 red 7s, and a progressive jackpot for 3 diamond 7s.

Best Site for Live Dealer Blackjack: Bovada

Bovada Casino

Live blackjack takes center stage at Bovada with an array of 34 live tables, all offered at various stakes to complement the budgets of all players. While the standard blackjack rules that apply to all live tables provide a solid foundation for a live experience, we believe that the introduction of other blackjack variants would enhance the overall appeal further.

One unique feature of live blackjack at Bovada is the integration of a “blackjack strategy calculator” feature into regular play. With each hand, the calculator suggests the most optimal play based on the cards that are dealt. New players can use to the calculator to learn strategy, but even experienced players will find it useful.

Speaking of expert play, the early payout tables boast an RTP of 99.5% and introduce additional rules that allow players to get paid early after a successful hit. The range of betting limits for these tables are $5-$100, $25-$1,000, and $100-$2500.

What sets these tables apart, considering that they all follow the same format, is the betting limits and live dealers. Traditional blackjack table limits vary greatly from $10 to $50,000. There is an unlimited number of players per table, meaning that you can access a seat at your favorite dealer’s table without having to wait.

Best Blackjack Bonus Site: BetUS

BetUS is a one-stop shop for blackjack players looking to boost their bankrolls from the moment they make their first deposit. With the promo code PUMPKIN50, players can take advantage of a bonus of 50% up to $500 exclusively for blackjack.

If you’re a cryptocurrency player who also likes wagering on sports, you can take advantage of the 200% first-time crypto bonus. The 200% is split thusly: 150% for the sportsbook and 50% for the casino (including blackjack, of course). The sports portion of the bonus matches deposits up to $3,750, while the casino portion matches up to $1,250. Best Site for Blackjack Tournaments: Everygame

Everygame logo

Everygame has managed to muster up one of the best blackjack tournament offerings on the market. There are two separate tournament schedules: one for Everygame Casino Red and one for Everygame Casino Classic. Blackjack players will want to navigate to the Casino Classic lobby to take part in the site’s blackjack tournaments. Buy-ins average $2, and rebuys are roughly the same and unlimited.

We enjoyed that the blackjack tournaments were fairly diverse in terms of game variations. Some of these include Classic, Vegas Strip, Perfect Pair, and Vegas Single Deck blackjack. Blackjack freerolls can also be found regularly, with the prize pools ranging upwards of $500 to $1,000 depending on player participation.

In addition, the site rewards players with 3 comp points for every $10 wagered on blackjack tournaments. These can be exchanged for cash at a rate of $1 per 1,000 points.

How We Choose the Best Blackjack Sites

At GamblingSites.com, we’re dedicated to providing objective and accurate evaluations of the sites we review. In order to do so, we implement an in-house developed evaluation system called the B.E.S.T. system. Each site is assigned a score based on the following four key factors:

  • Bonuses – It’s not enough for a site to offer a large welcome bonus; there are other considerations, such as the T&Cs attached and the variety of other rewards for long-term players. We also consider the eligible games and their wagering contributions when assessing sites based on a specific offering like blackjack.
  • Entertainment Features – Every blackjack casino we recommend must deliver concrete value to players. We look at the number of variations of blackjack a casino offers, as well as assessing their house edge, community chat features, multi-platform support, and interface.
  • Safety and Security – Safety is the most heavily weighted category in our evaluation, as it is the most crucial element to be considered when playing online blackjack for real money. We take into account factors including the legitimacy of the site’s licensing and the technology they implement to ensure provably fair gameplay.
  • Transactions – Transaction efficiency is seen throughout our list of the best blackjack online casinos. Our expectations include a good variety of payment options, low deposit and withdrawal limits, and fast payment processing times.

How to Find the Best Blackjack Site for You

Depending on player preferences, the perfect blackjack casino for someone else may not be a good fit for you. Some players may prefer a site with a large selection of games, while others prioritize a long-term selection of bonuses and promotions.

How Much Would You Like to Bet?

The best online blackjack casinos provide a range of blackjack tables, each with its own set of minimum and maximum betting limits. If you favor smaller limits, whether to reduce your risk or for budget purposes, it’s best to opt for a casino featuring tables with lower minimum bets. Likewise, if you’re a high-stakes player, you’d be better off committing to a casino that offers tables with higher maximum betting limits.

Before signing up, you should also take note of the betting limits set for each blackjack variation, as they often vary from game to game and provider to provider. For instance, BetOnline’s standard blackjack tables can be accessed with varying betting limits ranging from $10-$10,000, whereas Bovada’s limits range from $10-$50,000. Although each casino’s minimum bet limit is competitive, Bovada’s higher maximum bet limit could make it a better fit for high-rollers.

Do You Want to Play Live Dealer Blackjack?

Every online casino offers at least one RNG blackjack game, in which the outcome of each hand is decided by a Random Number Generator. However, many players enjoy seeing the dealer shuffling cards and dealing them out in real-time – adding an additional level of trust.

Live blackjack dealers are real-life dealers streaming from a live casino studio. This realistic element creates a life-like casino experience in which you can engage with dealers, and oftentimes, opponents too. If trustworthiness, social interaction, and an authentic experience are important to you, you should opt for a casino that offers live dealer blackjack, such as Bovada or Wild Casino.

What Variety of Blackjack Do You Want to Play?

Gameplay, strategy, and winning odds are all directly affected by the type of blackjack you play. Each poses a different house edge while introducing special rules or additional side bets. It’s essential that players understand the rules of each variant and adapt their game strategies accordingly in order to win.

Blackjack is played with anywhere between two to eight decks depending on the casino. More decks result in an increased house edge. This classic variant is offered at most top blackjack casinos, including BetOnline and Wild Casino.

Blackjack Double Exposure

European blackjack, offered at Everygame Casino, differs slightly from standard blackjack in that the dealer only receives a second hole card once the player has made all his decisions. The game is played using six decks and these are reshuffled after every hand. Winning hands pay 1:1 and hitting blackjack (an ace and a ten-value card) pays 3:2. Single-deck blackjack also pays 3:2. The dealer hits on soft 17 and players may split up to two hands.

Double deck blackjack, playable at BetUS, pays 2:1, while the voluntary side bet of insurance pays 2:1. The dealer stands on soft 17 and players can split once per round.

Played with 8 decks, Pontoon 21 poses a 1:1 payout for winning hands, while Pontoons (a hand that adds up to 21 with just 2 cards) and a 5-card-trick pay 2:1. Dealers hit on a soft 17 and all Royals count as 10. This blackjack variant can be found at Bovada.

How to Play Blackjack

To play blackjack online, simply navigate to the lobby of your preferred online casino and select “table games”. Alternatively, some casinos have a separate designated “blackjack” category. Search “blackjack” or use the filter tool. Once you load a game, you must place a bet before the game can begin. The amount you bet is up to you, but it must fall within the minimum and maximum betting limits set by the casino.

Blackjack Game Rules

The basic concept of blackjack is that players must attempt to create a hand that is higher in value than that of the dealer, without exceeding a total value of 21. Both the player and dealer are dealt two cards. One of the dealer’s cards must face up. Players may choose to hit (request another card) or stand (hold your total and end your turn). If either the player or the dealer goes over 21, the other person wins automatically, regardless of their hand value.

Deck combination

There is an option to surrender if you don’t feel confident in going forward with your hand. The forfeit credits the player with 50% of their bet and the rest goes to the house. If the dealer’s score totals 21 with three or more cards, the player wins. Players can double down after receiving their first two cards, meaning the bet amount is doubled and an additional card is dealt.

Some casinos offer a side bet to players called insurance, which is half of the original bet. This bet can be made when the dealer shows an ace. If the dealer has blackjack, the player wins the insurance bet at 2:1. If the dealer does not have blackjack, the player loses the insurance bet, and the hand proceeds as usual. If the dealer and the player both have blackjack, the game is a push and the player wins what the insurance bet pays.

Blackjack Strategy

Blackjack is a game of both chance and skill. Every hand dealt is completely random, adding an indisputable element of chance to the game. However, it is the player’s decisions that ultimately determine the outcome of the hand. For example, players can decide whether to hit, stand, surrender, double down, or split (you can choose to split doubles, resulting in 2 separate hands).

By making the right decisions, players can reduce the house edge and improve their chances of winning. To determine the best course of action, it’s best to familiarize yourself with the game rules and follow a strategy. Some common blackjack strategies include:

  • Double down on 11 – Players with a hand of 11 have a good chance of hitting 21 without running the risk of busting. The only time this strategy isn’t recommended is if the dealer’s up card is an ace. This is because the chance of them having 21 (or being close) is too high to risk losing double your bet.
  • Split pairs of 8s and Aces – Before splitting 8s, your hand is valued at 16. This is considered a weak hand, and the chances of busting are fairly significant. By splitting into 2 hands, each starting with 8, your chances of improving your hand are far greater, and the risk of busting is decreased. As for Aces, the same applies. The chances of you hitting a blackjack are also doubled, and far greater than the dealer’s chances, even if his upcard is an Ace.
  • Never split a pair of 5s or 10s – Before splitting 5s, your hand is valued at 10. You are at an advantage because it is not possible to bust on your next hit and your chances of hitting 21 or getting fairly close is pretty good. By splitting, the closest another card will get you is a weak 16. At this point, your chances of busting have increased significantly. As for a pair of 10s, your hand is valued at 20 before splitting. You would need to hit two Aces after splitting in order to better the outcome of your game.
