Jalen Hurts+400
Lamar Jackson+650
Patrick Mahomes+700
Tua Tagovailoa+850
Tyreek Hill+1800
Christian McCaffrey+2000

Above are the most current 2023 NFL MVP odds from BetUS. As you can see, there are about three players who are setting themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Those three players include Brock Purdy, Dak Prescott, and Jalen Hurts.

Hurts was expected to be a top contender this season, but the other two were longshots to win. The current favorite is Brock Purdy, who had a price above +6000 prior to the season start. That goes to show that betting on the NFL MVP is not as easy as it seems.

After the top trio, we have some other big names who could easily jump a few spots up the list within the next few weeks. Lamar Jackson, Tua Tagovailoa, and Patrick Mahomes are in the hunt, and there’s still plenty of time left.

The NFL MVP odds have a lot of value right now, but they’ll continue to change each week. Be sure to place your wagers on whoever you think will win before their price drops even more.

The best place to do this is at BetUS.

Best Site for Betting on the NFL MVP: BetUS

BetUS logo

If you’re looking to bet on your 2023 NFL MVP prediction, I strongly recommend doing so at BetUS. They have one of the best sportsbooks for this market and offer better prices than a lot of other sites.

Not only that, but BetUS has arguably the best welcome bonus at 125% (up to $2,500). You can use their welcome bonus to wager even more on the NFL MVP odds for 2023 than you originally planned.

There are many reasons to join BetUS. Yes, they are one of the top sportsbooks for the NFL MVP, but they offer so much more. You can bet on other NFL props, or you can bet on completely different sports as well.

Will Brock Purdy Win the 2023 NFL MVP?

Brock Purdy

If I were to tell you Brock Purdy would be the favorite to win the NFL MVP in the offseason, you would have been shocked to say the least.

Well, that’s exactly where we are at. After 12 stellar weeks, the 49ers’ quarterback has led them to a 9-3 record.

It’s impossible to ignore just how amazing the 49ers are in all phases. Purdy is having a nice season, but the reason why they are doing so well this year is because they are a complete team.

That’s not to say that Purdy isn’t worthy of recognition. He’s played well himself, with an average of 265.4 passing yards per game, along with 25 total touchdowns (23 passing, 2 rushing).

We can certainly make the argument against Purdy, but we might be forgetting one thing; quarterbacks have a massive advantage when it comes to the NFL MVP. If all he does is keep the 49ers moving right along, it could be enough to win the award.

San Francisco is also a team that has their eyes on the Super Bowl. Make sure you know how to bet on the Super Bowl if you think Purdy can take them all the way.

You should also know that the 2023 NFL MVP odds for Purdy are different at every sportsbook. BetOnline and MyBookie are two great sites to consider joining, even if you aren’t going with the 49ers’ QB.

Can Patrick Mahomes Repeat as MVP?

Patrick Mahomes is coming off an exceptional season to say the least. He led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory and also took home the MVP.

It’s been a bit of a down year for him so far, but there’s still plenty of time for him to catch up to Purdy and the rest of the bunch.

Mahomes ranks eighth in passing yards and fifth (tied) in passing touchdowns. He also has the fourth-most interceptions with 10, and the Chiefs are scoring 22.9 points per game (tied for 11th).

His numbers are still better than most, but this is a step down from what we usually see. Mahomes is averaging 260.4 passing yards per game, which is 23.6 yards less than his career low.

If he wants any chance of winning the award again, he’ll have to kick things up a notch. The thing is, Mahomes is more than capable of going nuclear down the stretch. His slow start has also given his odds a ton of value at +700.

Why Mahomes Might Not Be the Best Bet

Back to Back Winners

It might seem foolish to ever doubt Mahomes’ abilities, but we have to make sure we are doing our due diligence for every player here.

Mahomes makes for a fine NFL MVP pick, but history tells us that it’s pretty uncommon for a player to win back-to-back awards.

The last player to do so was Peyton Manning in 2003 and 2004. Mahomes would likely have to top his performance from last season. He threw for 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns last year, so the bar is already unbelievably high.

With just five games to go, Mahomes likely won’t have enough time to eclipse last year’s totals.

Other 2023 NFL MVP Contenders

This MVP race is far from over. Purdy is the top dog right now, but you get more money betting on someone else.

The 2023 NFL MVP odds have loads of value, so let’s look at two other top contenders that could beat out Purdy.

Dak Prescott (+350)

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott is another player with a high chance of winning the MVP.

The NFL MVP betting odds on some sites have him as a co-favorite along with Purdy. Dallas has been on fire these last few weeks, and a lot of it is because of their quarterback.

From Week 8 to 13, Prescott has 21 total touchdowns, 1,901 passing yards, and just two interceptions. No other QB has more than 12 touchdowns during that span.

Dallas is riding a four-game winning streak, but their next four games are going to be tough. If Prescott can put together big performances against the Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, and Lions, he can win the MVP.

Jalen Hurts (+550)

Philadelphia has the league’s best record after Week 13 at 10-2. Jalen Hurts has been a big contributor to a lot of their success. The quarterback has 3,425 total yards and has scored a remarkable 31 times this year.

Apparently, Roger Goodell wants to remove the “Tush Push” play, but that won’t happen this year.

Hurts runs the play to perfection and he will continue to do so. The Eagles have a lot of success in short yardage situations, whether it’s in the red zone or on third down.

If Philadelphia’s quarterback keeps stacking together touchdowns and wins, it’ll be hard to see someone else getting the award. BetOnline is offering Hurts at +550, while other sites are under +400.

Top 2023 NFL MVP Sleepers

Brock Purdy was a longshot coming into this season, and there’s still time for another sleeper to make their case for the MVP. It’s riskier betting on a longshot, but the potential payouts make it worth it.

There are a lot of great players out there, but my favorite three sleepers for the MVP include Lamar Jackson, Tyreek Hill, and C.J. Stroud.

Jackson doesn’t have great counting stats, but he’s led the Ravens to an impressive 9-3 record. They sit as the second best team in the AFC and their quarterback is a big reason why.

I don’t advise betting on non-QBs, but if anyone’s going to win it this year, it would be Tyreek Hill. He’s on pace to break the NFL record for receiving yards in a single season with over 2,000.

C.J. Stroud has all but locked up the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, and he should be in MVP discussions as well. The Tank Dell injury is a bummer, but Stroud looks to be the next big thing.

Some sites have Stroud around +2000, but BetOnline has him at +5000.

NFL Betting Strategy for 2023

This might be your first time looking at the 2023 MVP odds for the NFL. In that case, it’s a good idea to refresh your memory with some helpful betting tips.

Here are a few things to remember before placing your final bets.

Bet on a Quarterback

Who Wins NFL MVP

For starters, you want to make sure you are betting on a quarterback when it comes to the MVP. Quarterbacks have dominated this award in recent memory, and every year, it feels like it becomes even harder for a non-QB to win.

Some people, including myself, wish they would just declare the MVP as a QB-only award and the Offensive Player of the Year award for non-QBs. That way, we don’t act like another position player has a chance when they really need to break a major record to even be considered.

Even then, I’m still not sure they would win. You might be tempted to make your 2023 NFL MVP pick on your favorite running back or wide receiver, mainly because you could get a huge payout. However, I strongly advise against it.

Quarterback is by far the most important position on the field. It’s hard to argue that someone else could have more value than a QB, so keep it simple and bet on one when betting on the 2023 NFL MVP betting odds.

Bet on a Playoff Contender

Building an NFL MVP

Another thing you want to do is bet on a quarterback who is on a playoff contending team. This takes a little bit of skill to predict, but it’s necessary when betting on the NFL MVP odds for 2023.

Only two NFL MVPs have missed the playoffs. I doubt this would happen again, just because you need to have a remarkable season to win the MVP. If you do have an incredible season, there’s a high chance you helped your team make the playoffs.

It’s also hard to justify a player winning the award when their team didn’t perform well. To be safe, make sure you are betting on a quarterback that will help his team make the playoffs.

Look for the Next Big Thing

It’s not going to be easy to make your 2023 NFL MVP pick. You might feel confident in the player you ultimately decide to bet on, but there’s a good chance you are completely wrong. One thing you can attempt to do is to predict the next big thing.

Obviously, Patrick Mahomes is going to have a great season, barring a disaster. But as I mentioned earlier, his standards are incredibly high. Not only that, but his betting odds don’t have nearly as much value as other picks.

So, what should you do? If you are able to correctly predict the next breakout QB in the NFL, you very well could win your bet. Last year was Jalen Hurts, who might have won with +2500 odds had it not been for his late season injuries.

It’s a good idea to place a bet on a player who has a very high ceiling and the tools to get the job done. View our expert football betting strategy guide for more help, and brush up on some more tips for predicting the next NFL MVP below.

Updated 2023 NFL MVP Winner Prediction

NFL MVP Award

This NFL season is flying by, and the MVP race is as close as ever. The 2023 NFL MVP odds have a ton of value in them, no matter if you’re betting on a top contender or a sleeper.

As we’ve discussed, Brock Purdy is the favorite to win, closely followed by Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts.

Patrick Mahomes always remains a threat to win, as well as Lamar Jackson and Tua Tagovailoa. Tyreek Hill’s putting together such an impressive season that he could be the first WR ever to win the award.

So, who is my NFL MVP pick? There are a ton of great players to consider, but I can’t believe C.J Stroud has a +5000 price. The rookie is having a phenomenal season and is carrying more of the load than any other player. Isn’t that what the MVP award is all about?

If you like C.J. Stroud’s 2023 NFL MVP betting odds, then visit BetOnline to place your bets along with me! For those of you who would like to learn more before betting on your 2023 NFL MVP prediction, be sure to read our guide to the top football betting sites!
