Despite a disappointing end to their championship defense last year, the Liberty are +240 favorites at top basketball betting sites to win the 2026 WNBA Championship.
New York had one of the best offenses in the league last season, averaging 84.4 PPG. However, their losing road record was a major factor in the Liberty’s failure to secure homecourt in the playoffs.
Indiana and Minnesota are tied for the next-best odds at +450 each. The Fever won the Commissioner’s Cup but lost to the Aces in the Semifinals. Minnesota earned the top seed in the postseason but also lost in the semis, falling to the Mercury in four games.
The defending champion Aces and the Dream round out the top five at +550 and +650, respectively.

Why are the New York Liberty The WNBA Title Favorites?
The Liberty won their first title in 2024. New York swept Atlanta, dominated Las Vegas, and won an exciting five-game series against Minnesota. All eyes were on the Liberty last year as they looked to defend their title.
New York had five players average double digits and ranked fourth in scoring at 84.4 PPG. They also had a solid defense, giving up just 80.3 PPG.
Their stats looked impressive on paper, but Sabrina Ionescu and company struggled to win, especially on the road. After a 32-8 season in 2024, the Liberty went 27-17 last season. They were also one of just two playoff teams to have a losing road record.
Last year did not end the way the Liberty expected. However, they added to their depth by signing three-time WNBA All-Star Satou Sabally. They also resigned Jonquel Jones, and sport two of the biggest WNBA stars in Ionescu and Breanna Stewart.
Top 2026 WNBA Title Contenders
The Liberty have plenty of star power and are ready to bounce back from last year’s shortcomings. These are the top contenders to prevent New York from winning its second title in three seasons.
Indiana Fever (+450)
Indiana is tied for the second-best odds to win the 2026 WNBA Championship at +450. The Fever opened with the second-shortest odds last year, and hopes were high after Indiana won the Commissioner’s Cup.
They won the mid-season tournament without star Caitlin Clark, who was out with a groin injury. Clark’s sophomore season was plagued by injuries, and she only appeared in 13 games in 2025.
Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston led the team in Clark’s absence, averaging 20.2 PPG and 15.0 PPG, respectively. Boston also led the team in rebounds (8.2 RPG), assists (3.7 APG), and blocks (0.9 BPG).
Assuming Clark is healthy this season, she and the Fever are a lock to make the playoffs. Mitchell was third in scoring in all of the WNBA last season. If she can repeat that production while playing alongside Clark, one of the best scorers in the league, Indiana will be one of the best offenses.
Minnesota Lynx (+450)
Minnesota is also listed at +450 odds to win the championship in 2026. The Lynx lost to the Fever in the Commissioner’s Cup finals but finished the season 34-10, the best record in the league.
Their dominance in the regular season, including a 20-2 home record, did not carry over into the playoffs. Minnesota lost in the semis, losing in four games to Phoenix.
Napheesa Collier averaged 22.9 PPG last season, second only to A’ja Wilson (23.4 PPG). She also led the team in steals (1.6 SPG) and tied for the lead in rebounds (7.3 RPG).
The Lynx will go as far as Collier, who fell just short of winning the MVP last season, can carry them. However, Collier is recovering from offseason surgery on both ankles, so Minnesota could struggle early.
Las Vegas Aces (+550)
Las Vegas has won three of the last four WNBA titles, and A’ja Wilson has been the driving force of the team’s success. Wilson has won four MVPs since 2020 and claimed Finals MVP honors in two of Vegas’s three championships.
Wilson led the WNBA in scoring last season. She also became the first player in the NBA or WNBA to win the MVP, Finals MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and the scoring title in the same season.
As long as Wilson is in her prime, the Aces will be title contenders.
Las Vegas continues to lean on a three-guard scheme. Jewell Loyd replaced Kelsey Plum last season, while Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray continued to play at a high level. The Aces are a veteran team with more championship experience than anyone and should not be counted out.
Best 2026 WNBA Finals Sleeper Pick
- Dallas Wings (+4500)
My top sleeper pick to make a run at the 2026 WNBA is the Dallas Wings. The Wings only won 10 games last year, tying for the worst record in the league.
Despite the team’s poor record, Paige Bueckers won WNBA Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 19.2 PPG and 5.4 APG in her first season. Bueckers will also have a familiar face to play with this year after Dallas drafted her former UConn teammate, Azzi Fudd, with the first overall pick.
The Wings also re-signed Arike Ogunbowale to a multi-year deal. If Dallas can figure out a rotation that works, the guard trio of Bueckers, Ogunbowale, and Fudd could lead the Wings on a surprising playoff run.
