Golden Nugget Secures Vegas First

Golden Nugget, the second-biggest casino on Fremont Street, introduced 3-Dice Yahtzee in August. The downtown property is the first casino in Las Vegas to offer the new table game.

Las Vegas-based Galaxy Gaming developed the house-banked title, which adapts Hasbro’s familiar Yahtzee brand for casino play. The game had previously appeared in other markets before its planned Las Vegas debut.

“There’s a reason Yahtzee has been a favorite around kitchen tables for generations, and we wanted to bring that same fun to the casino pit,” noted Galaxy Gaming’s director of product management Tyler Knight. “3-Dice Yahtzee takes the excitement of Yahtzee and turns it into a fast, head-to-head table game.”

Galaxy Gaming unveiled 3-Dice Yahtzee earlier in 2026 at the International Casinos Exhibition in Barcelona. The game joins a growing selection of unique casino games online designed to give players alternatives to traditional blackjack, roulette, and baccarat

How 3-Dice Yahtzee Works

The game uses two sets of three dice, identified as Red and Blue. Players can wager on which side wins or whether the two hands finish tied.

Three hand rankings determine the winner: Yahtzee, Straight, and Chance. A Yahtzee, made up of three matching dice, ranks highest. A three-dice straight comes next, while Chance compares the total value of the dice when neither side produces one of the higher-ranked combinations.

Most standard wagers pay even money. However, a winning Chance score of 10 against a losing score of 8 results in a push. An optional wager on that exact outcome pays 35 to 1.

Bonus Bets Add More Ways to Play

Casinos can configure enhanced payouts for a 6-6-6 Yahtzee. Depending on the version offered, the result can pay either 6 to 5 or 3 to 2 instead of even money.

3-Dice Yahtzee also includes optional bonus wagers, similar to other games offered at Nevada casinos, and a progressive bet based on all six dice across the Red and Blue hands. Progressive payouts can cover five- and six-dice Yahtzees and straights, with a jackpot available when all six dice show sixes.
