Jiří Procházka is a slight favorite in the latest UFC 327 betting odds to claim the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight belt. Winning the belt will be easier said than done, though, as Carlos Ulberg (13-1) stands between Procházka (32-5-1) and the title.

The original main event was delayed, but UFC 327 still has a dozen exciting fights for fans to wager on. Keep reading to see the latest betting lines and my best bets for this weekend’s UFC card.

Jiří Procházka vs. Carlos UlbergJiří Procházka (-117)Carlos Ulberg (-102)

The top UFC betting sites have Jiří Procházka as a slight favorite at -117 odds to defeat Carlos Ulberg. This is Procházka’s third attempt at winning the belt, and he is 3-2 in his last five appearances in the Octagon.

Ulberg, who lost in his UFC debut, is riding a 9-fight winning streak and competing in his second UFC main event. Murzakanov (16-0) is a -197 favorite over The Eraser in this fight.

Joshua Van was originally scheduled to defend his Flyweight title against Tatsuro Taira in the co-main event. However, the fight was moved to UFC 328 after Van pulled out due to injury.

The new co-main event promises to be just as exciting, with Azamat Murzakanov taking on Paulo Costa at Light Heavyweight.

Aaron Pico is the biggest favorite on the card. Pico is listed at -335 for his upcoming Featherweight fight against Patricio Pitbull (+270). His current odds give Pico an implied win probability of 77.01%.

UFC 327 Main and Co-Main Event Preview

Icon of mma
  • Azamat Murzakanov (-197) vs. Paulo Costa (+165)
  • Jiří Procházka (-117) vs. Carlos Ulberg (-102)

Paulo Costa (15-4) started his career 13-0, including five straight wins in the Octagon. His hot start earned Costa a shot against Israel Adesanya for the UFC Middleweight title at UFC 253.

Costa lost that fight by TKO and has not been the same since. Including his loss to Adesanya, Costa is 2-4 in his last six appearances. Given his inactivity and lack of success, it is no surprise that Costa is a +165 underdog in the co-main event this weekend.

Murzakanov, who faces Costa on Saturday at Light Heavyweight, is undefeated, including a 6-0 start to his UFC career. He has earned 12 of 16 career wins by KO, nine of which came in the first round.

The main event will also be contested at 205 pounds. Jiří Procházka (-117) is a slight favorite over Carlos Ulberg (-102) with the LH belt on the vacant line.

Procházka won the belt from Glover Teixeira at UFC 274 but later vacated it due to a shoulder injury. He attempted to win it back at UFC 295, but Procházka lost by second-round TKO to Alex Pereira.

Ulberg has not challenged for gold in the UFC, but he is riding a 9-fight win streak. His most recent appearance was a first-round KO of Dominick Reyes in Ulberg’s first-ever main event.

Best Bets for UFC 327

Icon of mma
  • Tatiana Suarez (-160)
  • Nate Landwehr (-110)

Tatiana Suarez (11-1) takes on Lupita Godinez (14-5) in a Strawweight fight this weekend on the UFC 326 undercard. Suarez, who has defeated everyone she has faced not named Weili Zhang, is the -160 favorite.

Godinez has won back-to-back fights and recently broke into the top 10 of the division. However, she is three inches shorter than Suarez and gives up five inches in reach.

Both women prefer grappling, and Suarez’s size advantage should give her an edge.

Another favorite I am riding with this weekend is Nate Landwehr, who is listed at -110 odds to beat Cub Swanson (-108). This fight is essentially a pick’em and should be a great matchup to kick off the main card.

Swanson is a well-respected veteran of the UFC and has 13 career knockouts. However, he is just 15-10 in the Octagon during his career.

Landwehr is 2-3 in his last five fights, and Swanson is 3-2 over that stretch. In his last 12 fights, though, Swanson is only 5-7. Swanson has also been finished in 10 of his 14 career losses, including being submitted seven times.

If Landwehr can get this fight to the ground, he can minimize his recent struggles on the feet. It would also allow Landwehr to take advantage of one of Swanson’s biggest weaknesses.

Top UFC 327 Upset Picks

Icon of mma
  • Josh Hokit (+117)
  • Carlos Ulberg (-102)

My top underdog pick for UFC 327 is Josh Hokit, who is listed at +117 odds to beat Curtis Blaydes (-132) in their Heavyweight fight this weekend. Hokit is a perfect 8-0 so far in his professional MMA career, but he will be at a massive size disadvantage this weekend.

The 28-year-old Hokit is 6’1 with a 73.5-inch reach. Blaydes, for comparison, is 6’4 with an 80.0-inch reach, giving the veteran a major advantage in size.

Both Heavyweights have plenty of KOs on their records, but Hokit is the better grappler. Three of his eight career finishes have been submissions, while Blaydes has zero. Hokit can hold his own striking, but if he needs to take the fight to the mat, he will have the advantage over Blaydes.

Another underdog to bet on this weekend is Carlos Ulberg (-102). He is not a major underdog, but Ulberg’s odds are slightly longer than Jiří Procházka’s (-117).

Procházka is significantly more experienced, but he also has one of the riskiest fighting styles in MMA. He is also moving forward, and blocking opponents’ shots is often an afterthought for Procházka.

His style has overwhelmed most of the fighters Procházka has faced. However, it cost him dearly in both of his matchups with Alex Pereira. Eight of Ulberg’s 13 career wins are by KO, and he will have plenty of chances for his ninth this weekend.

Full UFC 327 Fight Card Predictions

  • Charles Radtke (-179)
  • Vicente Luque (+220)
  • Chris Padilla (-176)
  • Tatiana Suarez (-160)
  • Mateusz Gamrot (-180)
  • Kevin Holland (+105)
  • Aaron Pico (-335)
  • Nate Landwehr (-110)
  • Dominick Reyes (-139)
  • Josh Hokit (+117)
  • Azamat Murzakanov (-197)
  • Carlos Ulberg (-102)

Vicente Luque (+220) is an underdog against longtime veteran Kelvin Gastelum (-275). Both fighters have struggled in the Octagon in recent years, and Luque is moving up to 185 pounds for this fight. The move up in weight should benefit Luque, and he will get the win over Gastelum this weekend.

Aaron Pico (-335) is the largest favorite on the card for his upcoming fight against Patricio Pitbull (+270). After impressive Bellator careers, Pico and Pitbull are a combined 1-2 in the UFC. Pico’s striking will help him right the ship this weekend and earn him the first win of his UFC career.

Azamat Murzakanov (-197) is a heavy favorite for his co-main event against Paulo Costa (+165). The Eraser has lost four of his last six fights and has not finished an opponent since he beat Uriah Hall by TKO at UFC 226 in 2018. Costa’s struggles will continue this weekend, and Murzakanov will keep his perfect record intact.

UFC 327 Betting Tips & Strategy

Consider these betting and strategy tips before wagering on UFC 327.

Styles Make Fights

One of the oldest adages in combat sports is that styles make fights. Understanding each fighter’s style and how they have matched up against different styles in the past will help you pick the winner of any given matchup.

Limit Your Underdog Picks

Underdogs typically offer exciting payout odds that can lure in inexperienced bettors. However, you should limit the number of underdogs on your betting slip. Otherwise, you are likely to be in for a disappointing fight night.
