Drake Maye Over 0.5 Total Interceptions (+131)

Patriots’ QB Drake Maye’s breakout season has landed the second-year star in the MVP race. Maye and the Pats face a tough test this weekend against the visiting Falcons. 

Atlanta was embarrassed at home last week against Miami. Despite the loss, the Falcons still boast the best passing defense, allowing fewer than 150 passing YPG. Atlanta’s 11 passing TDs allowed ranked ninth in the NFL. 

Maye threw an interception last week, his third of the season, and was also sacked a season-high six times. 

The Falcons have six interceptions, but they will have plenty of opportunities to force turnovers against a pass-happy New England offense. Maye is listed at +131 to have over 0.5 picks this week, and I believe he will throw at least one interception against one of the top passing defenses in the NFL. 

Rico Dowdle Anytime TD Scorer (+260)

The Rico Dowdle hype train hit a major roadblock last week when the RB carried the ball just eight times. On the bright side, Dowdle was efficient with his carries, totaling 54 yards with his limited workload. 

Dowdle had just eight carries to Chuba Hubbard’s 12, but he outgained him by 20 yards. Hubbard did score the team’s only TD of the game, though, finding the endzone in the fourth quarter. 

Carolina was forced to abandon the running game after the Bills scored early and often in the 40-9 blowout. Dowdle must be a bigger part of the game plan this week on the road in Lambeau. 

He is listed at +260 to score, and Dowdle will find pay dirt this week. Green Bay typically starts slow, which will allow Carolina to rely on its rushing attack early. Once Dowdle finds his rhythm, it will be impossible to keep him from scoring. 

Jonathan Taylor Over 116.5 Scrimmage Yards (-115)

Speaking of talented running backs, Jonathan Taylor is having an MVP-caliber year in Indianapolis. He leads the NFL in rushing yards (850), scrimmage yards (1,056), rushing TDs (12), and total scrimmage TDs (14). 

Taylor is averaging over 130 scrimmage yards per game this season and easily covered his Week 8 NFL props. He is listed at -115 to have over 116.5 scrimmage yards against Pittsburgh this season. 

The Steelers went all in on the Aaron Rodgers experiment this season, spending heavily on their defense to support the four-time former MVP. It is safe to say their attempt failed, as Pittsburgh allows the most passing yards (273.3 YPG) in the NFL. 

On the bright side, Pittsburgh only allows 112.7 rushing YPG, which ranks 18th in the NFL. 

Chase Brown, who was averaging under 35 rushing YPG before the game, lit this Steelers’ defense up for 108 yards on the ground two weeks ago. Taylor will do even more damage to Pittsburgh this Sunday, easily covering this scrimmage yard total. 

Xavier Worthy Over 46.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

The Bills’ baffling decision to trade with the Chiefs in the 2024 Draft allowed KC to grab Xavier Worthy, the fastest receiver in the history of the combine. Worthy has made the Bills pay for that decision, racking up 146 total receiving yards and two TDs on 10 catches in his two matchups against Buffalo last season. 

He had over 60 receiving yards and at least one TD in both games against the Bills last year. Worthy is listed at -115 odds to have over 46.5 receiving yards again this weekend. 

After missing time due to injury early this season, Worthy has caught 21 passes for 233 yards this year. He has at least four targets in every game since returning from injury. Buffalo’s defense struggled to contain him last season, and Worthy will have another big day against Buffalo this week. 

Best Week 9 NFL Game Prop Bets

Minnesota Over 2.5 Points in the 1st Quarter (-170)

The Vikings’ offense has been limited by QB injuries so far this season. Detroit, on the other hand, has been one of the highest-scoring teams in football. 

Considering that, it is not surprising that the Lions are laying more than a TD this weekend against their division rivals. However, I doubt the Vikings will be shut out on Sunday. 

Minnesota only needs a field to cover over 2.5 points in the opening quarter. The Lions’ defensive injuries make them a risky bet to cover any given week. Justin Jefferson will take advantage of Detroit’s secondary issues and help the Vikings get at least three points in the opening quarter. 

Jacksonville Wins Both Halves (+245)

The Jaguars were outscored 55-19 in their losses heading into the team’s bye last week. On the bright side, Jacksonville has a prime opportunity to bounce back this week against the Raiders. Las Vegas also had a bye, but it entered its week off with a 31-0 loss in KC. 

Jacksonville is listed at +245 to win both halves this week against Las Vegas. The Jaguars’ defense has been one of the best this season when it comes to forcing turnovers. Las Vegas, conversely, has a -5 turnover differential, tied for the third-worst in the NFL. 

The Raiders’ turnover issues are the driving force behind the team’s -77 point differential this season. Jacksonville struggled before its bye, but it will rebound in a big way with a dominant wire-to-wire win this week.  

Seattle Over 5.5 Points in the 1st Quarter (-110)

The Seahawks were also on a bye last week, but thanks to the 49ers’ loss, Seattle assumed control of the NFC West. Sam Darnold and company can take another step toward winning a division title with a win over the Commanders this weekend. 

Seattle is a 3.0-point road favorite this week against the Commanders. They are also listed at -110 to score over 5.5 points in the first quarter. 

Washington allows 24.8 PPG, the 12th-most in the league. The Commanders also surrender over 370 total yards per game, the sixth-most. Seattle’s offense averages over 350 YPG and 27.6 PPG. 

Seattle’s explosive offense will score over 6.5 points in the opening quarter against a struggling Commanders’ defense. 

Arizona is the First Team to 10+ Points (+110)

Arizona and the Cowboys square off on Monday Night Football this week. Both teams have losing records, but a win this week could spark a midseason turnaround for either franchise. 

The Cardinal’s offense is bad, averaging just 21.9 PPG. Dallas’s defense is worse, though, giving up the second-most points (31.3 PPG) so far this year. Also, the anticipated return of Kyler Murray could provide a much-needed spark to the Cards’ offense. 

Dallas suffered a demoralizing loss last week in Denver. That sting of that loss will linger this week, giving the Cardinals an advantage. With that in mind, I expect the Cardinals to be the first team to score 10 points (+110) in this MNF game.
