Half a dozen ranked-vs-ranked matchups headline my college football picks for Week 4. Arguably the biggest matchup of the week pits #1 Texas against #14 Tennessee in Knoxville. Other must-see matchups this week include #4 Ole Miss vs. #21 Florida, #17 Iowa vs. #18 Michigan, and #20 Oregon vs. #12 USC.

I break down my NCAAF picks for those exciting matchups and more in the guide below. Also, I highlight my favorite college football props for this weekend’s games.

Missouri State vs. #22 SMU#22 SMU Missouri State#22 SMU -35.0 (-110)

#6 Miami is the biggest favorite of Week 4. The Hurricanes are laying 41.0 points on the road against Central Michigan.

#20 Oregon vs. #12 USC has one of the smallest spreads of the weekend. The Ducks are 3.0-point road favorites over the Trojans in a massive matchup between ranked Big Ten teams. Both teams have struggled at times this season, and this will be their toughest test so far.

The biggest game of the week is #1 Texas vs. #14 Tennessee in a ranked-vs-ranked SEC showdown. Arch Manning and the Longhorns are laying 4.0 points as road favorites over the Vols on Saturday.

One AP Top 25 team, #9 BYU, is not playing this week.

Best Week 4 College Football Picks

The best football betting sites are loaded with enticing odds for this weekend’s matchups. Here are my top college football predictions for Week 4.

Straight Up/ML Picks

Icon of football
  • #1 Texas (-190)
  • #2 Georgia (-625)
  • #10 LSU (-360)

#1 Texas is a -190 road favorite over #14 Tennessee (+162) in Knoxville. The Longhorns’ defense has allowed only 12.0 PPG and has held two of their three opponents to single digits. Tennessee is averaging over 40 PPG, but they have not played anyone even close to being ranked, and the step up in competition will derail the Vols’ undefeated start.

#2 Georgia is another excellent favorite to back this weekend at -625 versus Oklahoma (+430). The Sooners dropped 51 points in their opener but have scored just 24 points since. John Mateer and company will struggle again this weekend against a Bulldogs’ defense that has allowed only 13.3 PPG.

#10 LSU is a -360 favorite at home against the visiting #23 Texas A&M Aggies. Both teams are coming off losses, with the Tigers losing to Ole Miss and the Aggies falling to Kentucky. LSU should be better with a healthier Sam Leavvit under center and will hand Texas A&M their second straight loss.

Best ATS Picks

Icon of football
  • #16 Louisville -13.0 (-115)
  • #4 Ole Miss +4.5 (-120)
  • #8 Alabama -12.5 (-112)

My favorite ATS pick of Week 4 is #16 Louisville to cover -13.0 against Wake Forest. The Cardinals’ offense is averaging 46.0 PPG this season. Louisville’s defense has been less impressive, giving up over 28 PPG, but Lincoln Kienholz and the offense will do enough to cover the spread on Saturday.

#4 Ole Miss is a 4.5-point underdog against the #21 Florida Gators in Gainesville this weekend. The Rebels are coming off an emotional win over LSU and their former head coach, Lane Kiffin. It will be challenging to win again this weekend after such a large adrenaline dump last week, but I think Trinidad Chambliss, a Heisman favorite, and Ole Miss can at least cover the spread against Florida.

#8 Alabama is laying 12.5 points as home favorites against the visiting South Carolina Gamecocks. SC started hot, but its defense could not stop Mississippi State last week. It should be more of the same on Sunday with the Crimson Tide, averaging 47.7 PPG, scoring early and often.

Top CFB Upset Picks

Icon of football
  • #17 Iowa (+185)
  • #12 USC (+135)
  • #19 Missouri (+190)

#17 Iowa (+185) takes its top-ranked scoring defense on the road to face #18 Michigan in The Big House. The Hawkeyes have surrendered just 4.3 PPG this season, the fewest in the country, and the Wolverines’ offense has been unwatchable at times, scoring 17 or fewer in two of its three games thus far. Iowa’s defense will shut down Bryce Underwood and company, leading the Hawkeyes to an upset win.

Another underdog I like this weekend is #12 USC, which is available at +135 for its home date with #20 Oregon (-160). The Trojans’ defense and the Ducks’ offense have had their fair share of issues this season. USC’s Jayden Maiava has outplayed Oregon’s Dante Moore this year and will lead the Trojans to victory.

#19 Missouri is also the underdog in a ranked-vs-ranked matchup against Mississippi State. The Bulldogs’ offense has averaged 544.7 total YPG this season, the second-most in the country. However, Mizzou’s defense will be a tougher test than Mississippi State has faced so far, putting the Tigers in a great spot to secure the win.

Top Week 4 College Football Prop Bets

Icon of football
  • Charlie Becker (Indiana) anytime TD scorer (-197)
  • J’Koby Williams (Texas Tech) 1st half TD scorer (-162)
  • Rocco Becht (Penn State) over 1.5 passing TDs (+115)

The best college football betting sites are offering -197 odds on Charlie Becker (Indiana) to score a TD this weekend against Northwestern on Friday. Becker is the Hoosiers’ leading receiver with 12 catches for 272 yards and leads the team with six receiving TDs.

Another player who should score this weekend is Texas Tech’s J’Koby Williams. He is averaging 6.2 YPC and has three rushing scores this season. Williams is listed at -400 odds to score, but you can boost your odds to -162 by wagering on him to score in the first half.

Penn State’s Rocco Becht is listed at +115 to have over 1.5 passing TDs against Wisconsin this week. Becht is averaging three passing TDs and over 250 passing yards per game this year. Wisconsin has a great pass defense, giving up just 180.3 passing YPG, but Becht will throw for at least two scores this week in a PSU win.
