#7 Miami opened the season with a 45-6 win over Stanford thanks to a three-touchdown game from WR Malachi Toney. The Hurricanes are big favorites again this week, laying 56.5 points against Texas A&M.

#1 Ohio State, the top-ranked team in the country, is the only ranked team that is an underdog this weekend. The Buckeyes are getting 2.0 points against the #4 Longhorns in Austin. Arch Manning and Texas are -125 favorites over Ohio State this Saturday.

Another intriguing matchup pits #11 Oklahoma against Michigan in the Big House. The Wolverines opened the season as the 16th-ranked team and won their matchup over Western Michigan. However, the controversy surrounding Michigan’s close win led to the Wolverines falling out of the AP Top 25.

Best Week 2 College Football Picks

Here are my top college football predictions using odds from the best football betting sites.

Straight Up/ML picks

Icon of football
  • #23 Missouri (-210)
  • #12 Alabama (-430)
  • #15 BYU (-300)

#23 Missouri opened the year with a dominant 54-14 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Tigers face a tougher matchup this weekend against rival Kansas in the Border War. Mizzou has won six of the last seven matchups against KU, and QB Austin Simmons will ride the momentum of his four-TD performance to give the Tigers their fifth straight win over the Jayhawks.

Another SEC team hoping to start the year 2-0 is #12 Alabama, which is a -430 road favorite over Kentucky. QB Keelon Russell had 256 passing yards and 86 rushing yards in the Crimson Tide’s win over East Carolina. Kentucky contained Youngstown State QB Beau Brungard to 29 yards on 12 attempts, but the Wildcats will not have the same success against Russell, and Alabama will win.

My final moneyline college football prediction of the week is #15 BYU at -300 odds to take down Arizona. The Cougars’ defense forced four turnovers in BYU’s 63-7 win over Utah Tech last week. Arizona should have a cleaner game, but BYU’s defense will lead the Cougars to another win.

Best ATS picks

Icon of football
  • #6 Oregon -23.5 (-110)
  • #11 Oklahoma -5.0 (-110)
  • #21 Iowa -14.0 (-108)

Oregon opened the year at #2 but dropped to #6 after its close win over unranked Boise State. The Ducks are favored by 23.5 points this weekend against Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Now that Oregon has shaken off the rust, the Ducks should roll a Cowboys team that lost 24-10 against Tulsa last week.

Another favorite that should cover is #11 Oklahoma, which is a 5.0-point road favorite over Michigan. The Wolverines’ offense struggled to move the ball against Western Michigan, and it should be another long day against the Sooners. Oklahoma QB John Mateer has won in tough road environments before and will continue his Heisman campaign with a win in the Big House.

My final point spread pick for Week 2 is for #21 Iowa to cover the 14.0-point spread against Iowa State. Iowa State has won three of the last four Cy-Hawk Trophies. Iowa’s strong running game, which had 289 combined rushing yards last week, will help the Hawkeyes win and cover against their in-state rivals.

Top CFB Upset Picks

Icon of football
  • Georgia Tech (+375)
  • #1 Ohio State (+105)
  • Arkansas (+375)

Georgia Tech is one of my top underdog picks in week 2. The Yellow Jackets host #18 Tennessee this week and are hoping to bounce back from a 14-13 loss to Colorado. If GT’s defense can slow down the Vols’ high-powered offense, it can shock Tennessee this weekend.

#1 Ohio State (+105) is the only ranked team not favored in this matchup this week as the Buckeyes head to Austin to face #4 Texas. The Buckeyes’ defense shut down Arch Manning and co. last year, but the Longhorns’ offense has improved significantly since then. Ohio State is also better than it was a year ago, and the Buckeyes’ running game will help them take down the Longhorns this weekend.

Arkansas is listed at +375 to beat #20 Utah in Salt Lake City this weekend. The Razorbacks had over 400 yards of offense last week, including nearly 150 rushing yards. A run-heavy game could be the key to Arkansas pulling off the upset against a Utah team that allowed over 100 yards on the ground to Idaho last week.

Top Week 2 College Football Prop Bets

Icon of football
  • #10 Texas A&M -16.0 (+106)
  • Utah State +28.5 (-160)
  • #8 LSU over 44.5 points (-132)

College football betting sites have valuable player props for week 2, including Texas A&M -16.0 at +106 odds against Arizona State. This alternate spread prop offers plus-money odds for only 1.5 points more than the normal spread. Both teams won by 50+ points last week, but the Aggies’ defense will be a major step up for ASU that the Sun Devils are not ready for.

Another alternate spread prop I like is Utah State +28.5 against Washington. The Huskies’ offense struggled in the Apple Cup last weekend, and an expanded point spread will make it that much easier for Utah State to cover.

My final week 2 college prop pick is #8 LSU to score over 44.5 points (-132) against Louisiana Tech. The Tigers dominated Clemson in Week 1, winning 51-10, and LSU is a 35-point favorite this weekend. LSU has plenty to prove, and Louisiana Tech will bear the brunt of the Tigers’ frustration this week.
