UFC 318 walkout songs are already stirring buzz, with fans eagerly expecting to learn what will Dustin Poirier play on his final walk to the Octagon.

Will it be Rihanna’s “Diamonds” in honor of his nickname? Or maybe “The Boss” by James Brown, which he played the last time he beat Max Holloway? Speculation is heating up, not just for Holloway vs. Poirier III, but for other July 19 fights as well.

That’s why I decided to do some speculating on my own. Once the official list drops, I’ll update this page; until then, here are my UFC 318 walkout song predictions.

What Will Dustin Poirer’s Walkout Song Be at UFC 318?

  • “The Boss” by James Brown

Dustin Poirier made his UFC debut in 2011 against Josh Crispy and his walkout song for that fight was “Drop the World” by Lil Wayne.

It marked the beginning of a very illustrious career that saw the Louisiana native beat the who’s who of the featherweight and lightweight divisions – Connor Mc Gregor, Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway, and others.

According to the man himself, he’d love to wrap up his UFC story with Lil Wayne by his side. The plan is that the rapper will accompany him during the walkout at the Smoothie King Center in NOLA.

But which song will be played in the background? The most logical answer would be “Drop the World” by Lil Wayne, but I have another prediction.

Nothing’s yet been confirmed, however, leading to speculation that Poirier might go with James Brown’s “The Boss” – his walkout in the 2019 fight with Holloway when he became the UFC Lightweight interim champ.

He’ll get another shot at the gold in his retirement fight. This time around, it’s the BMF (Baddest MotherF*****r) title.

This title’s name is what actually makes me think he’s gonna go with the James Brown track. The thing is that the lyrics include “Look at me, know what you see? You see a bad mother… Huh.

He made his greatest UFC achievement accompanied by this song, so playing it at UFC 318 could boost his confidence. And he’ll need a confidence boost, given that MMA sportsbooks see him as the underdog with odds of +110.

Predicting the Other UFC 318 Main Card Walkout Songs

  • Kevin Holland: “Kickboxer” by NBA YoungBoy (YoungBoy Never Broke Again)
  • Roman Kopylov: “Hriste Bože,” Serbian traditional

Kevin Holland has used NBA YoungBoy’s tracks two times already. His walkout song for the UFC 272 fight with Alex Oliveira was “Emo Rockstar.” For his fight with Stephen Thompson at UFC on ESPN 42, he used “Ghost.”

Given that NBA YoungBoy is a Louisiana-based rapper, I think it would be suitable for Holland to use one of his songs in New Orleans. Another reason for this is that the 25-year-old hip-hop artist has just recently released a new album.

Titled “MASA” (stands for “Make America Slime Again”), the album features 10 tracks, one of which is called “Kickboxer” – and Holland’s favorite fighting style is kickboxing.

I also have a prediction for Roman Kopylov’s entrance song – the traditional Serbian song “Hriste Bože.” Sounds strange but hear me out.

This was one of the walkout songs used by legendary Fedor Emelianenko, who, according to Kopylov, is his idol.

Further, even though he’s from Siberia, Kopylov is of Serbian heritage. Those two places may sound similar, but the distance between them is almost 3,300 miles (roughly the same distance as Florida to Alaska).

UFC 318 Walkout Song Predictions for the Prelims

  • Marvin Vettori: “The Italian Dream” by Greg Willen
  • Brendan Allen: “Fireman” by Lil Wayne

Marvin Vettori’s nickname is “The Italian Dream” so it’s only logical for his walkout song pick to be Greg Willen’s song of the same title. Actually, he’s used it many times in the past, including in his most recent event.

As a reminder, the last time he fought, he lost to Roman Dolidze by decision. But at least he didn’t get finished – and he’d love to stay without such a loss for at least another fight.

It won’t be easy as he’s locking horns with Brendan Allen, a guy famous for his ability to put opponents to submission. He hasn’t done it, though, in his last three fights, but maybe an intense walkout song could put him in a finishing mood.

One such song is “Fireman” by Lil Wayne. He used it in the past and I predict he’ll use it again. First of all, it would serve as an homage to the rapper who’s gonna be in attendance (and possibly even in Poirier’s corner).

What Will the UFC 318 Walkout Songs Be?

In my opinion, predicting UFC walkout songs is even more difficult than predicting who’s gonna win. It’s just that there are so many songs to choose from. After all, there are over 100,000,000 songs on Spotify alone.

You may think that some music genres aren’t suitable for the UFC. But I remember when Khalil Rountree Jr. – who’s got a hardcore punk band – used Ariana Grande’s “Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” as his walkout song in 2019. More recently, Payton Talbott used a darkwave track by Crystal Castles called “Kerosine” at UFC 317.

That said, I’m gonna be satisfied even if one of my predictions comes true. We’ll probably find it out 1-3 days before the event. And as soon as UFC 318 walkout songs are announced, I’ll make sure to update this post.
