Take a look at the UFC 316 odds and you’ll see that the June 7 event in Newark is expected to be a real spectacle. The main event is Merab Dvalishvili vs. Sean O’Malley 2, which is a fight for the Bantamweight title.

The co-main event – Julianna Pena vs. Kayla Harrison – is also a fight for the title (Women’s Bantamweight). Most other matchups seem spicy as well, as you’ll see if you keep on reading this betting guide.

UFC 316 odds are available at practically all leading MMA betting sites. My pick was BetOnline for a simple reason – this sportsbook is giving the best value on some underdogs that could stage an upset.

For example, Sean O’Malley is priced at +235, while most other sites are giving odds of somewhere in the ballpark of +210 on the former champ. It’s a similar case when it comes to Kelvin Gastelum’s odds (+290), Vicente Luque (+210), and so on.

So, if you wish to back any of these guys, BetOnline is the place to visit.

UFC 316 Main Event Preview

Sean O’Malley may be the #1 contender at Bantamweight but the UFC 316 odds are stacked against him. This is because, in their first fight, Merab Dvalishvili totally ragdolled him, making six takedowns and landing almost twice as many strikes as Suga Sean.

But here’s the part most people miss – O’Malley came into that one with an injured leg. He took the fight anyway because the UFC needed a big headliner at the Sphere. He saved the day for the company, but he lost his championship belt.

To win this rematch, though, just being fit isn’t enough. He needs to change gears and do much better striking-wise, utilizing his long arms and legs to keep Merab at a distance. If he can keep it standing, “Suga” has the weapons to flip the script.

Best Bets for UFC 316

  • Kayla Harrison to Beat Julianna Pena (-600) – Bet Now!
  • Wang Cong to Beat Ariane Da Silva (-360) – Bet Now!

Kayla Harrison rolls into UFC 316 with an 18-1 record, two Olympic gold medals, and a plan to become the champion.

Before coming to the UFC, she ran through the PFL, grabbing two million-dollar belts along the way and establishing herself as one of the toughest women on the planet.

On her debut in Dana White’s promotion, Kayla ragdolled Holly Holm – a former champ and legit striker with a boxing pedigree – and is now planning to do the same to Pena.

Oddsmakers from top online sportsbooks agree with me. They’re giving -600 – the shortest odds on the card – on Harrison becoming the new champ.

Another woman who I expect to see put on a great show in Newark is Wang Cong a.k.a., the Joker. She’s a real hard hitter, with great wrestling skills, who averages 1.61 takedowns per fight.

She’s had issues with top-tier grapplers in the past, but Ariane da Silva doesn’t fit that mold. Da Silva is a striker first, and that’s exactly the type of matchup Wang thrives in.

Top UFC 316 Upset Pick

  • Kelvin Gastelum to Beat Joe Pyfer (+290) – Bet Now!

Joe Pyfer is the man who broke Francis Ngannou’s PowerKube score by over 30%, showing that he’s one of the most powerful hitters on the planet. But that machine doesn’t win fights. He needs much more than just raw power to defeat such a seasoned veteran as Kelvin Gastelum.

The man’s never been knocked out – not by Adesanya, not by Whittaker, not by Belfort. Gastelum’s also got slick wrestling, a BJJ black belt, and a chip on his shoulder. The thing is that Pyfer pulled out of their March fight with food poisoning, then took shots at Mexican food.

Gastelum wants to teach him a lesson, and I think there’s a good chance he might do it. With UFC 316 odds of +290, this bet is too good to miss.

UFC 316 Card Predictions

  • Sean O’Malley to Beat Merab Dvalishvili
  • Kayla Harrison to Beat Julianna Pena
  • Kelvin Gastelum to Beat Joe Pyfer
  • Patchy Mix to Beat Mario Bautista
  • Vicente Luque to Beat Kevin Holland
  • Joshua Van to Beat Bruno Gustavo da Silva
  • Brendson Ribeiro to Beat Azamat Murzakanov
  • Serghei Spivac to Beat Waldo Cortes-Acosta
  • Wang Cong to Beat Ariane da Silva
  • Yoo Joo-sang to Beat Jeka Saragih
  • Quillan Salkilld to Beat Yanal Ashmouz

As you can see, I’m backing more underdogs than usual. I think O’Malley will reclaim his belt against favored Dvalishvili, and I think Gastelum has what it takes to beat Pyfer.

I also suspect we might see a surprise in the Luque vs. Holland fight. Although I understand why Holland’s UFC 316 odds are so short, I don’t think his opponent should be underestimated.

When it comes to my safest bets for this Saturday’s event, it’s two ladies – Harrison and Wang Cong.

Betting on UFC 316

  • Sean O’Malley to Beat Merab Dvalishvili (+235) – Bet Now!

If you’re a passionate MMA bettor, the UFC 316 main event is something you mustn’t miss. Not only I’m sure this is going to be a hell of a fight, but I suspect we could see O’Malley put on a vintage performance.

If you agree with me, what you need to do is head over to BetOnline and back Suga at +235. And if you feel really adventurous, putting some money on Gastelum would be the right thing to do – his UFC 316 odds are +290.
