2025 Tony Awards Betting Odds

BetUS has competitive odds on multiple categories for the upcoming Tony Awards. Here are the latest betting lines for this year’s awards.

Best Musical

MusicalBest Musical Odds
Maybe Happy Ending-200
Death Becomes Her+300
Dead Outlaw+400
Buena Vista Social Club+400
Operation Mincemeat+700

Maybe Happy Ending, a Korean musical that originally premiered in 2016, made its way to Broadway in 2024. It is now listed at -200 odds to win the Best Musical. The show is tied for the most nominations of any musical this year with 10.

Death Becomes Her, which also has 10 nominations, has the next-best odds at +300. Dead Outlaw, seven nominations, and Buena Vista Social Club, 10 nominations, are tied for third at 4-1 odds each.

Maybe Happy Ending opened on Broadway in mid-November, giving it a head start on the other top nominees. It has already won the Outstanding New Broadway Musical award at the Outer Critics Circle Awards. Also, it won the Best Musical award at the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards.

Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical

ActorBest Musical Actor Odds
Darren Criss in Maybe Happy Ending -300
Jonathan Groff in Just in Time+400
Tom Francis in Sunset Boulevard+500
Jeremy Jordan in Floyd Collins+500
Andrew Durand in Dead Outlaw+1200
James Monroe Iglehart in A Wonderful World+1600

You can also wager on individual awards, such as the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical. The leading favorite is Darren Criss, who starred in Maybe Happy Ending

Other top nominees include Jonathan Groff for Just in Time (+400), Tom Francis in Sunset Boulevard (+500), and Jeremy Jordan, who played the titular character in Floyd Collins (+500)

Despite the odds, Criss has not fared well so far this award season. His only win so far was at the Broadway.com Awards, where he took home Favorite Leading Actor in a Musical.

On the other hand, Maybe Happy Ending has performed well in many award shows already. Also, one of Criss’s biggest rivals so far has been Nicole Scherzinger (Sunset Blvd.), who beat him for the Distinguished Performance Award at the Drama League Awards. Since Scherzinger is not eligible for this category, that could clear the way for Criss to take home the award.

Best Play

The Hills of California+100
Oh, Mary!+125
John Proctor is the Villain+250
Purpose+1400
English+1600

Best Play is another major category up for grabs at this year’s Tony Awards. The Hills of California is the even-money favorite for this category. It is closely followed by Oh, Mary! (+125) and John Proctor is the Villain (+250).

The Hills of California, written by Jex Butterworth, tells the story of the Webb Sisters suffering through the dry summer of 1976 while caring for their dying mother. In Oh, Mary!, Cole Escola provides a comedic retelling of the lives of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln.

John Proctor is the Villain also reimagines history, providing a different perspective of the characters in Arthur Miller’s The Crucible. It won Outstanding Play at the 2024 Elliot Norton Awards for its Boston production before moving to Broadway.

Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play

ActorBest Play Actor Odds
Cole Escola in Oh, Mary!-400
George Clooney in Good Night & Good Luck+500
Daniel Dae Kim in Yellow Face+600
Jon Michael Hill in Purpose+800
Harry Lennix in Purpose+2000
Louis McCartney in Stranger Things the 1st Shadow+2000

Cole Escola is the -400 favorite to win Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a play. Escola wrote and starred in Oh, Mary!, and won multiple awards during its off-Broadway run.

George Clooney has the second-best odds in this market, listed at 5-1 for his role in Good Luck & Good Night. Daniel Dae Kim (Yellow Face) and Jon Michael Hill (Purpose) are also top contenders at +600 and +800, respectively.

Cole earned a Special Citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle for his performance. Clooney should not be counted out, though, as he and Grant Heslov won the 2025 John Gassner Award.

Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play

ActressBest Play Actress Odds
Sarah Snook in The Picture of Dorian Gray-350
Sadie Sink in John Proctor is the Villain+300
Laura Donnelly in The Hills of California+500
LaTanya Richardson Jackson in Purpose+900
Mia Farrow – The Roommate+1000

Finally, we have the odds for the best leading actress in a play. Sarah Snook is the -350 favorite for her work in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Snook played over 20 characters in the play, which was adapted from the Oscar Wilde novel of the same name.

Sadie Sink has the best odds to upset Snook at +300. Sink, best known for her role as “Max” in Stranger Things, played “Shelby Holcomb” in the Broadway production of John Proctor is the Villain

Laura Donnelly, who plays Veronica and Joan in The Hills of California, rounds out the top three at +500.

Donnelly won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Play. Snook, on the other hand, took home Outstanding Solo Performance that night. She also won Best Actress at the 2024 Laurence Olivier Awards.

Best Bets for the Tony Awards in 2025

  • Maybe Happy Ending wins Best Musical (-200) – Bet now!
  • Darren Criss wins Best Leading Actor in a Musical (-300) – Bet now!
  • Laura Donnelly wins Best Leading Actress in a Play (+500) – Bet now!

Maybe Happy Ending is nominated for 10 awards, and I think the Tonys will be a very productive night for the musical.

It has dominated award shows dating back to its premiere in 2017, and the Broadway production will continue that trend. The show will win Best Musical, and Darren Criss will take home Best Leading Actor in a Musical.

One underdog I would recommend betting on is Laura Donnelly, who is listed at +500 to win Best Leading Actress in a Play. Donnelly won Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Play at the 2025 Outer Critics Circle Award but is listed at 5-1 to win a similar category at the Tonys.

2025 Tony Awards Winner Predictions

  • Maybe Happy Ending wins Best Musical (-200) – Bet now!
  • Darren Criss wins Best Leading Actor in a Musical (-300) – Bet now!
  • John Proctor is the Villain wins Best Play (+250) – Bet now!
  • Cole Escola wins Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play (-400) – Bet now!
  • Laura Donnelly wins Best Leading Actress in a Play (+500) – Bet now!

I am picking three favorites in my Tony Award predictions. Maybe Happy Ending, Darren Criss, and Cole Escola are all favored in the updated Tony Awards odds for their respective categories, and they will win.

There are bound to be at least a few upsets during the show. Two underdogs I am predicting to win are John Proctor is the Villain, which is listed at +250 to win Best Play, and Laura Donnelly, a 5-1 underdog to win Best Actress in a Play.
