Top NFL Player Props for Week 18
Lucky Rebel provided the following odds for my top Week 18 player prop odds.
Bryce Young (CAR) 2+ Passing TDs (+100)
Bryce Young and the Panthers have emerged as division contenders in the lowly NFC South this season. Carolina has struggled to string together wins, but it did take down Tampa Bay in Week 16.
Young and company were underdogs in that matchup, and they are underdogs again. To pull off another upset, Young needs to take advantage of the Buccaneers’ poor passing defense. Tampa Bay allows 236.4 passing YPG, the seventh-most, and has allowed 28 passing TDS.
When these teams met two weeks ago, Young only had 191 passing yards. However, he also had two passing TDs in the upset win.
Young is listed at even money to have 2+ passing TDs again this week. The Bucs have allowed at least two passing TDs in each of their last three games, and that streak will continue this week with Young racking up at least two passing TDs on Saturday.
Sam Darnold Over 251.5 Combined Pass and Rush Yards (-115)
The other division title on the line Saturday is in the NFC West. Seattle (13-3) takes on San Francisco (12-4), with the winner claiming not just the NFC West crown, but the number one seed in the NFC as well.
Sam Darnold has proved many doubters wrong this season by leading one of the league’s best passing attacks.
Darnold has averaged 240.6 passing YPG, the second-most in his career. He has also averaged 3.0 YPA on his scrambles this season.
San Francisco’s defense allows 235.6 passing YPG, the eighth-most in the league. The 49ers also have a league-low 18 sacks, so they are unlikely to get pressure on Darnold to disrupt the Seahawks’ passing game.
A clean pocket will allow Darnold to have over 251.5 combined pass and rush yards this week.
Derrick Henry 2+ TDs Scored (+390)
After a 1-5 start, the Ravens (8-8) are one win away from winning the AFC North and punching their ticket to the postseason. To do it, Baltimore will need to knock off the Steelers (9-7) in Pittsburgh.
Derrick Henry had 94 rushing yards when these teams met in Week 14, but he did not find the end zone. Henry has more than made up for that since, scoring six touchdowns over the last two games.
King Henry is listed at +390 to score 2+ TDs this weekend.
Baltimore could be without Lamar Jackson again as the two-time MVP deals with a back injury and a contract dispute. If Jackson is out, then the Ravens will lean heavily on Henry again. A heavy workload allowed Henry to easily cover his Week 17 props.
Pittsburgh’s run defense has been good on paper, holding teams to 4.2 YPC and 10 rushing TDs, but teams like the Bills have gashed them on the ground. Baltimore should be able to replicate that success on the ground, and Henry will have his third multi-TD game in a row.
Best Week 18 NFL Game Prop Bets
Top NFL betting sites offer exciting game props for the most anticipated Week 18 games, too.
Browns vs. Bengals Under 0.5 TDs in the 1st Quarter (+200)
Cleveland came up just short in its 17-16 loss to Cincinnati in Week 1. After 16 weeks, the Browns finally get another shot at their in-state foes.
The Bengals have struggled with slow starts this season, and they could be in store for another one against this Browns’ defense. Cleveland’s offense has also been nothing to brag about, scoring 20 or fewer points in four of its last five games.
Myles Garrett is also hunting the sack record and is just one sack away from breaking it. That added motivation will make Garrett unblockable early, derailing the Bengals’ offense.
Oddsmakers have this prop, under 0.5 TDs in the first quarter, available at +200 odds. With both offenses struggling, the 2-1 odds make this prop worth the risk.
Indianapolis Colts Under 14.5 Points Scored (-152)
The Colts started 7-1, but their six-game losing streak has eliminated Indianapolis from the playoffs. After three games of the Philip Rivers experience, Indy will turn to rookie Riley Leonard for their season finale.
Leonard will face a Texans defense that allows just 177.8 passing YPG, the fourth-fewest in the NFL. They also give up fewer than 95 rushing YPG, which is bad news for a Colts team that relies heavily on its running game.
To make matters worse for Leonard in his debut, Houston allows a league-low 16.6 PPG. The Colts’ offense should struggle throughout this game, and the Texans will hold Indy under 14.5 points on Sunday.
Jacksonville Jaguars -14.0 (+107)
Speaking of the AFC South, the Jaguars (12-4) can clinch the division title this week with a win over the Titans (3-13). Jacksonville is a 12.0-point home favorite, but they should easily cover this alternate spread prop of -14.0.
When these teams met at the end of November, Jacksonville secured a 25-3 win.
Tennessee has one of the worst offenses in the league, ranking 30th with 17.3 PPG. Jacksonville, for comparison, has averaged over 27 PPG this season. The Jaguars also have a great defense, forcing the second-most turnovers (30) this year.
Trevor Lawrence has also been playing lights out lately, scoring 16 total TDs with just one turnover in his last five starts. Another MVP-level performance from Lawrence, combined with a great showing from the Jags’ defense, will help Jacksonville cover this alternate spread of -14.0.
Detroit Lions Over 23.5 Points Scored (-130)
Detroit’s season has not gone to plan, with the Lions already eliminated from playoff contention. The Lions have lost three straight games and are 1-4 against divisional opponents this season.
On the bright side, Detroit’s lone win in the division came against the Bears. The Lions take on the Bears again this week and are listed at over/under 23.5 points scored.
When these rivals met in Week 2, Detroit dropped 52 on Chicago in a blowout win. The Bears’ defense leads the league in turnovers with 32, but they have struggled to keep teams out of the end zone.
Detroit, which has had its fair share of struggles, is averaging 28.9 PPG this year, the third-most in the NFL. A proud Lions team will put up points again this week, covering their total in this prop wager.
Jets vs. Bills Under 30.5 Total Points (+255)
The Jets and Bills face off this week in the final game at Highmark Stadium. Buffalo is a Wild Card team, but it can give its stars a de facto bye week by sitting its starters for most of the game.
Josh Allen is likely to start to keep his streak of 126 consecutive starts active. Allen’s streak is the eighth-longest in NFL history.
Assuming Allen and the Bills’ other starters miss most of the game, the Bills’ offense will be in trouble. Allen and James Cook are the driving forces behind the Bills’ league-best rushing attack. Without them, Buffalo will not be able to move the ball.
New York’s offense is bad even with their starters playing, averaging 18.3 PPG, the fifth-fewest in the league. The Jets have also scored 10 or fewer points in three of their last four games.
With that in mind, this alternate point total of under 30.5 points offers a lot of value at +255 odds.
Week 18 NFL Prop Betting Trends and Tips
Check out these betting trends and tips before placing your Week 18 wagers.
Teams Without Byes Could Rest Starters
As mentioned above, teams like the Bills are likely to rest their starters for most, if not all, of their Week 18 games to create a bye week ahead of the postseason. Some teams, like the Chargers, have already announced they are resting starters. You should consider how not having key players will affect each team in the final week of the regular season.
Bad Weather is Bad for Offenses
The first week of January football brings with it winter weather. Much of the Midwest and Northeast is dealing with Winter Storm Ezra, which has created snowy, icy conditions in addition to frigid cold. These conditions could severely impact offenses in Week 18.
