The four teams on a bye in Week 5 are: Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Green Bay Packers.

Minnesota continues its European road trip this week, taking on the Browns in London. The Vikings were 3.0-point favorites last week but lost to the Steelers. This time around, they are laying 3.5 points against Cleveland (1-3).

Buffalo also failed to cover its Week 4 spread, but the Bills still earned a double-digit win over the Saints. The Bills are laying 7.5 points at home this week as they attempt to continue their undefeated start against the Patriots on SNF.

Week 5 concludes with the Chiefs taking on the Jaguars in Jacksonville. KC is a -3.5 favorite to secure its third straight win after its 0-2 start.

Week 5 NFL Picks

Here are the Week 5 NFL picks I recommend betting on at the top NFL sportsbooks.

Best Week 5 NFL ML Picks (Straight Up)

Icon of football
  • Seattle Seahawks (-192) – Bet now!
  • Philadelphia Eagles (-214) – Bet now!
  • Kansas City Chiefs (-193) – Bet now!

Seattle is 3-1 after taking down the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football last week. The Seahawks (-198) will be well-rested after the mini bye, and I think they will beat a Buccaneers team that is hampered by injuries on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Tampa Bay also must travel across the country for this game, which will negatively impact their performance.

Philadelphia (-214) improved to 4-0 after handing the Bucs their first loss of the season last week. Their offense has not been pretty, but the Eagles (-214) are back at home this week against the Broncos. Denver looked better in its MNF win over Cincinnati, but the Broncos will come up short on the road this week in Philly.

The Chiefs got back to .500 on the season thanks to victories over a then-winless Giants team and a 1-2 Baltimore squad that was depleted by injuries. Kansas City is a -193 road favorite this week in Jacksonville. The fraudulent Jaguars are not nearly as good as their 3-1 record would imply, and the Chiefs will win this prime-time matchup easily.

Week 5 NFL Picks ATS

Icon of football
  • Los Angeles Chargers -3.0 (-103) – Bet now!
  • Detroit Lions -10.5 (-108) – Bet now!
  • New England Patriots +7.5 (-117) – Bet now!

It was only a matter of time before the Chargers Chargered, and it unfortunately happened last week against the Giants. They face Washington this week, who will either roll with Marcus Mariota or start Jayden Daniels, who is coming off a knee injury. Neither will be good enough to cover, and I am siding with LA in my NL picks against the spread this week.

The Lions are the biggest favorite of the weekend, laying 10.5 on the road against the Bengals. I typically recommend staying away from double-digit favorites, especially on the road, but Cincinnati has lost back-to-back games by 25+ points. Detroit is the highest-scoring team in the NFL through four games, and they will cover this week.

Buffalo is 4-0, but they have failed to cover double-digit spreads in back-to-back games. The Bills are only laying 7.5 at home this week against the Patriots on SNF. New England’s offense has been hit-or-miss at times, but I think they will do enough to cover the spread this week.

Best Week 5 NFL Upset Picks

The Jets could not get out of their way in Monday’s 27-21 loss to the Dolphins, racking up 13 penalties for 101 yards. They are +122 underdogs at home this week against the Cowboys. Dallas’s offense is great at home, but they struggle on the road, and I believe the NYJ will pick up their first win of the season this week.

I am doubling down on Big Apple teams this week and picking the Giants (+109) to also secure the upset. The G-Men won last week in Jaxson Dart’s debut, upsetting the previously undefeated Chargers. They should win again this week against a hapless Saints (0-4) team.

Finally, the Dolphins (1-3) won their first game of the season against the aforementioned Jets, despite a potentially career-ending knee injury to Tyreek Hill. Miami (-102) will build on the momentum from that win this week and take down the Panthers (-120) in Carolina this week.

NFL Week 5 Predictions

  • Los Angeles Rams (-260)
  • Minnesota Vikings (-185)
  • Miami Dolphins (-102)
  • Indianapolis Colts (-310)
  • New York Giants (+109)
  • New York Jets (+122)
  • Philadelphia Eagles (-214)
  • Arizona Cardinals (-525)
  • Seattle Seahawks (-192)
  • Detroit Lions (-550)
  • Los Angeles Chargers (-157)
  • Buffalo Bills (-410)
  • Kansas City Chiefs (-193)
  • Houston Texans (-126)

Minnesota’s two-game trip across the pond concludes this week as they take on the Browns. The Browns have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but the Vikings are -185 favorites in this matchup. If this were a true home game in Cleveland, then the Browns could win, but they will drop this game and fall to 1-4.

A few costly mistakes ended the Colts’ perfect record last week in LA. Daniel Jones and company should bounce back this week against Las Vegas. The Colts (-310) are heavy favorites at home, and they will win.

Arizona has lost back-to-back games to division opponents to fall to 2-2. On the bright side, the Cardinals (-525) should get back in the win column this week with the 0-4 Titans coming to town.
