The 20th-ranked Tigers of Mizzou are the biggest favorite of the weekend, laying 44.5 points against UMass. Conversely, #24 TCU (+117) is the only team in the AP Top 25 that is an underdog against an unranked team.

Best Week 5 College Football Picks
Let’s dive into my college football picks and best bets for Week 5.
Straight Up/ML Picks
Despite being the top-ranked team in the country, Ohio State is only a -345 favorite on the road this week against Washington. The Buckeyes were off last week, so they had extra time to prepare for this cross-country road trip against the Huskies. Ohio State will pick up the road win on Saturday.
Next on my college football predictions for Week 5 is #14 Iowa State to beat Arizona. These Big 12 teams are both undefeated, but the Cyclones have been the more impressive team this season. Rocco Becht, who has a 7:1 TD: INT this season, will lead Iowa State to their fifth straight win to start the season.
Lastly, I think #5 Georgia (-152) will take down #17 Alabama in a battle of SEC heavyweights. The Bulldogs’ defense struggled early against Tennessee in Week 3, but they still managed to win and looked much better last weekend. Alabama, on the other hand, lost to a then-unranked Florida State in Week 1 and will lose its second game of the season this week.
Best ATS Picks
There are exciting point spread wagers available this week, too, including #23 Illinois +7.0 against #21 USC. The Fighting Illini dropped 14 spots in the rankings after their 63-10 blowout loss to Indiana. Despite last week’s embarrassing loss, I think Illinois can keep within a touchdown of the Trojans this week.
Lucky Rebel lists #8 Florida State as 7.0-point road favorites this week against Virginia. The Seminoles have averaged 58.0 PPG this season, the most in the country, and have over 1,000 rushing yards through their first three games. Florida State will knock off Virginia for its first ACC win of the season.
I also think #15 Tennessee is a good bet to cover at -7.5 against Mississippi State. The Volunteers continued their streak of scoring 41+ points in every game with their 56-24 win over UAB last weekend. The Bulldogs have been good this season, even beating a ranked Arizona State team, but they will struggle to keep up with Tennessee’s offense.
Top CFB Upset Picks
My CFB upset picks for Week 5 are Arkansas (+156), #4 LSU (-101), and #6 Oregon (+144).
The Razorbacks host #22 Notre Dame, which just picked up its first win of the season last week. Arkansas nearly upset Ole Miss two weeks ago, and I believe they can finish the job this time around against the Fighting Irish.
Speaking of the #13 Rebels, they are home favorites this week against #4 LSU. The Tigers dropped one rank despite winning 56-10 last week. LSU will take down SEC rival Ole Miss and climb back into the top three.
Another ranked underdog who will secure the upset this week is #6 Oregon, which is listed at +144 against #3 Penn State. Like LSU, the Nittany Lions dropped one spot in the rankings this week. They will fall even further next week after James Franklin, who is 4-20 against Top 10 teams, loses another big game as Penn State’s head coach.
Top Week 5 College Football Prop Bets
Lucky Rebel offers exciting college football props, such as the ones listed above.
#18 Vanderbilt is a -2000 moneyline favorite against Utah State this week. The Commodores should lead for most, if not all, of the game, and I like them to cover -7.0 in the first quarter against the Aggies.
Speaking of favorites, #9 Texas A&M is laying 6.5 this week against Auburn. This should be a good test for A&M, but I expect them to lead throughout. They will win both halves (-117) against the Tigers this week.
Mizzou failed to cover its Week 4 spread, but it still won and is listed at -44.5 this week against UMass. Lucky Rebel offers an over/under on Missouri’s total points scored at 49.5. The Tigers have averaged 46.0 PPG this year, the 10th most in the country, and they will top 50 this week against UMass.
