Conference championship weekend pits the best of the best from each conference with bragging rights and a conference title on the line.

This year’s championship games feature the much-awaited battle between #1 Ohio State and #2 Indiana. The Buckeyes are favored by 4.0 points in this Big Ten battle of undefeated teams.

In the SEC, #3 Georgia looks for revenge against #10 Alabama after the Crimson Tide handed the Bulldogs their only loss of the season in Week 5. Georgia is laying 2.5 in this showdown between familiar SEC opponents.

Ten teams in the AP Top 25 qualified for their respective conference games. Some notable missing teams include:

Best Week 15 College Football Picks

Let’s take a closer look at my college football predictions for conference championship weekend.

Straight Up/ML Picks

#16 Virginia earned the best record in the ACC, going 10-2 this season with a 7-1 conference record. The Cavaliers lucked out with Duke (7-5) making the conference game over #12 Miami (10-3) or #24 Georgia Tech (9-3).

Virginia is a -172 favorite in the ACC Championship game. The Cavs beat Duke in mid-November, handling the Blue Devils 34-17 in Durham. Virginia will win again this week, earning its first ACC title since 1995.

Another favorite to bet on this week is #3 Georgia, which is listed at -130 to beat #10 Alabama. The Crimson Tide beat the Bulldogs 24-21 when they met between the hedges in Week 5.

Georgia is technically the road team for this rematch, but there will be plenty of Bulldog fans in Atlanta for the SEC Championship game. The Bulldogs have not lost since that game, reeling off impressive wins against then-#5 Ole Miss, #10 Texas, and #23 Georgia Tech. Georgia will avenge its early-season loss with a win over Alabama this weekend.

    Best ATS Picks

    Icon of football

The #5 Texas Tech Red Raiders host the #11 BYU Cougars in the Big 12 Championship. Texas Tech is laying 13.0 points in this conference title game.

Both teams are 11-1, but Texas Tech dominated BYU when they met last month. The Red Raiders won 29-7, so it is no surprise that they are heavy favorites in the rematch. Texas Tech will win in impressive fashion again, covering the 13.0-point spread.

Troy’s 8-4 record did not earn it a spot in the Top 25, but it was enough for the Trojans to make the Sun Belt Championship. They face #19 James Madison (11-1), which is favored by 23.5 points.

James Madison is undefeated in conference play and should win this matchup. However, the Trojans’ offense can keep this game close enough to cover the 23.5-point spread.

    Top CFB Upset Picks

After weeks of being the top-ranked teams in the country, #2 Indiana and #1 Ohio State will finally face off. The Hoosiers are +157 underdogs against the Buckeyes in the Big Ten Championship.

Ohio State’s defense is the best in the country, but they are also coming off a major, emotional win after ending their losing streak to Michigan. The Buckeyes covered their Week 14 odds, but it will be challenging to reset after that victory, opening the door for an Indiana upset.

In the American Championship, #20 North Texas (11-1) takes on #21 Tulane (10-2). The Mean Green, which averages the most yards (511.8) and points (46.8) per game in college football this season, are slight favorites.

Tulane is a +114 underdog, but the Green Wave is ranked ahead of North Texas in the CFP standings and will not go down without a fight. Its offense has been highly productive lately, which could allow Tulane to secure an upset this weekend.

Top Week 15 College Football Prop Bets

    • Cameron Dickey (#5 Texas Tech) anytime TD scorer (-250) – Bet now!
    • Chauncey Bowens (#3 Georgia) 40+ rushing yards (+140) – Bet now!
    • Fernando Mendoza (#2 Indiana) 2+ passing TDs (+130) – Bet now!

The best NCAAF betting sites have thrilling prop bets for Championship weekend, too.

Texas Tech’s Cameron Dickey is listed at -250 to score a TD this week against BYU. Dickey is the team’s leading rusher with 1,023 yards and also paces the team with 13 rushing TDs. He scored against BYU the first time around, and Dickey will find pay dirt again this weekend.

Another running back to wager on this week is Georgia’s Chauncey Bowens. Bowens had 119 rushing yards against Alabama in Week 5 and is listed at +140 to have 40+ rushing yards this weekend. Running the ball will be vital to Georgia’s chances of winning, so expect Bowens and fellow RB Nate Frazier to be heavily involved.

Fernando Mendoza can cement himself as the Heisman favorite by leading #2 Indiana past #1 Ohio State this weekend. The Buckeyes have the best defense in college football, but Mendoza and the Hoosiers’ offense are tough to stop. I think Mendoza can throw 2+ TD passes (+130) with the Big Ten title on the line.
