Week 12 kicks off with a highly anticipated matchup between two division winners from last season as the Texans (5-5) host the Bills (7-3). Houston has won five of its last seven, including back-to-back games, but it may be without C.J. Stroud for the third straight game.

Two teams, the Ravens and the Seahawks, are laying 13.5 points this weekend, the most in the NFL. Baltimore looks to win its fifth straight game, taking on the lowly Jets. Seattle, which had its 10-game road winning streak snapped last week, hopes to bounce back against the Titans.

There are four teams with byes in Week 12, including Miami, Washington, Denver, and the LA Chargers.

Week 12 TNF Best Bet: Houston Texans +5.5 (-110)

Icon of football
  • Texans’ defense allows 16.3 PPG, the fewest in the league
  • Josh Allen has four turnovers in his last two starts
  • Buffalo is 3-3 in its last six games, scoring 20 or less in its three losses

At the start of the season, this TNF matchup was circled as one of the best Thursday games of the year. Now, with Houston (5-5) and Buffalo (7-3) clinging to their hopes of repeating as division champs, there is even more intrigue heading into this AFC clash.

The Texans could be undermanned for this game. C.J. suffered a concussion in the team’s Week 9 loss to Denver and has not yet cleared protocol. However, Davis Mills has led the Texans to back-to-back wins in Stroud’s absence.

Houston also has arguably the best defense in the NFL, allowing the fewest points (16.3 PPG) in the league.

Buffalo’s offense has been inconsistent recently, and the team is just 3-3 in its last six games. They showed out at home last week, with Josh Allen scoring six total TDs. However, it will be challenging to replicate that performance on a short week.

The Bills’ defense has also struggled lately, allowing 30+ points in back-to-back weeks. Buffalo’s 153.0 rushing YPG allowed is the second-worst mark in the NFL. With that in mind, I think the underdog Texans can at least cover the 5.5 points at home this week.

Week 12 NFL Picks

The top NFL betting sites offer thrilling odds for the other games this week, too. Here are my favorite Week 12 NFL picks.

Best Week 12 NFL ML Picks (Straight Up)

Icon of football
  • Chicago Bears (-172) – Bet now!
  • Kansas City Chiefs (-186) – Bet now!
  • Philadelphia Eagles (-179) – Bet now!

Starting my NFL picks for Week 12 is Chicago, which took over first place in the NFC North thanks to a game-winning field goal last week. The Bears are -172 favorites at home this week against Pittsburgh. Steelers’ QB Aaron Rodgers has a long history with Chicago, but he also fractured his wrist last week, making Pittsburgh an easy target for a red-hot Bears team this Sunday.

No team is more desperate for a win this weekend than Kansas City (5-5), which hosts the Indianapolis Colts (8-2) at Arrowhead. Patrick Mahomes and company have lost back-to-back games and are now in danger of missing the playoffs. The Chiefs play at their best when their backs are against the wall, and they will take down the Colts this weekend.

Philadelphia improved to 8-2 with its 16-9 win over the visiting Lions on SNF, easily covering its Week 11 spread. Now, the Eagles have their rematch against Dallas, which Philly beat 24-20 in the opener. Philly’s defense will shut down the Cowboys’ offense this time around, leading the team to its fifth straight win.

Week 12 NFL Picks ATS

Icon of football
  • New York Jets +13.5 (-115) – Bet now!
  • Cincinnati Bengals +8.0 (-112) – Bet now!
  • Seattle Seahawks -13.5 (-111)- Bet now!

The Jets pulled the plug on the Justin Fields experiment after the team lost to New England last week and fell to 2-8. Tyrod Taylor will have a tough time against the Ravens’ defense, but changing the QB should provide a spark for New York’s offense. Taylor almost led the team to an upset over the Buccaneers when he started in Week 3, and he will help the Jets cover +13.5 points this Sunday.

Cincinnati is also a heavy underdog, getting 8.0 points at home against the visiting Patriots. The Bengals will likely be without Ja’Marr Chase, who was suspended without pay after spitting on Steelers’ Safety Jalen Ramsey. Losing Chase hurts, but Tee Higgins and the rest of the Bengals’ offense are still good enough to cover 8.0 points at home.

Seattle made plenty of mistakes last week, including four interceptions by Sam Darnold, but they still almost won the game. The Seahawks face a much easier opponent this week in the Tennessee Titans. Covering 13.5 on the road is easier said than done, but Seattle averages nearly 30 PPG this season and should blow out the Titans (14.3 PPG).

Best Week 12 NFL Upset Picks

Icon of football
  • Arizona Cardinals (+129) – Bet now!
  • Cleveland Browns (+147) – Bet now!
  • Atlanta Falcons (+110) – Bet now!

Jacoby Brissett completed 47 of 57 passes for 452 yards in last week’s loss to the 49ers. Brissett and the Cardinals are +129 underdogs this week against the Jaguars. Arizona’s offense has been improved with Brissett under center, and this has all the makings of a trap game for the Jags, who had a major win over the Chargers last week.

Another underdog to watch this week is Cleveland, which is listed at +147 against the Raiders. The Browns led for most of the game against Baltimore, but they could not seal the deal. Cleveland’s defense should dominate a Raiders team that has been embarrassed in back-to-back prime time games, helping the Browns get their third win of the year.

Atlanta has lost five straight games, and they will be without Michael Pneix Jr. (knee) and Drake London (knee), who were hurt last week. On the bright side, Kirk Cousins knows this offense, and Atlanta faces a favorable matchup against the 2-8 Saints. Cousins will lead the Falcons to a road upset over their divisional rival.

NFL Week 12 Predictions

  • Buffalo Bills (-260)
  • Baltimore Ravens (-1200)
  • Chicago Bears (-172)
  • New England Patriots (-390)
  • Detroit Lions (-625)
  • Green Bay Packers (-310)
  • Kansas City Chiefs (-186)
  • Seattle Seahawks (-1200)
  • Arizona Cardinals (+129)
  • Cleveland Browns (+147)
  • Philadelphia Eagles (-179)
  • Atlanta Falcons (+110)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+260)
  • San Francisco 49ers (-330)

Detroit has not been as dominant as they were last year, and the Lions (6-4) have already doubled their losses from a year ago. The Lions lost in Philly on SNF, but they will bounce back this week against the Giants. Assuming they can protect Goff better this week, the Lions will cruise to a win over the injury-depleted Giants.

The Packers, who beat the G-Men last week, are another NFC North team that will win this Sunday. Green Bay hosts the Vikings, whose QB issues have made their offense inconsistent at best this season. Micah Parsons and the Packers defense will get after J.J. McCarthy early and often, leading Green Bay to its first home win since Week 6.

Tampa Bay has lost three of its last four, all but squandering its lead in the NFC South. The Bucs are +260 underdogs on the road against the Rams this weekend. LA is coming off a huge win over Seattle, and the emotional letdown will open the door for a Bucs upset this week.
