Neon Staxx Slot Game Review

Neon Staxx is a hugely popular NetEnt slot game with an authentically eighties theme. Everything from the synth music backing track to the neon symbols reeks of the ’80s.

If you are nostalgic about that decade or just enjoy playing an entertaining slot game, then Neon Staxx may just fit the bill. The reels are set against a blue and purple future-scape, and theyscroll away towards the top of the screen.

There are eight regular game symbols in this game, with the low-value images being A, K, Q and J.

The four high-value images are fearsome predators: a stylized snake, eagle, tiger and lion.

Neon Staxx features 5 reels, each one displaying four symbols rather than the traditional three.

Neon Dreams and SuperStaxx

The ‘Neon’ from the title of this game is apparent as soon as you glance at the reels, as neon pinks and blues predominate.

So what about the ‘Staxx’?

This comes into play with the SuperStaxx feature.

At the start of every spin one symbol is chosen at random to be the stacked symbol. This is a set of icons which fills the entire reel. Of course, what you want to happen is to get two, threeor more of these lined up on adjacent reels from left to right.

If that happens, you are in for some monster winnings.

The SuperStaxx feature is available in both the regular game mode and also in free spin mode.

Predators Take Over

Speaking of which, the free spin rounds are triggered when you land three or more of the lurid pink triangles anywhere on the board.

Three of these gives you 10 spins, four gives you 15 and you get 20 spins if five triangles show up. In free spin rounds the SuperStaxx option is still active, but this time it’s even better.

During the free spins, the SuperStaxx will only feature the four high-value predator symbols along with the pink and gold Wild symbol. As you can imagine, stacks of wild symbols will lead to somemajor celebrations.

The only drawback is that it is not possible to re-trigger free spins.

Going Back to the Future

This 2015 release from NetEnt may not look like anything exceptional at first glance, but once you start playing you will become hooked by its charms. The 1980s soundtrack is spot on, and thefuturistic backdrop adds to the atmosphere.

Seeing those stacked reels line up next to each other is one of the joys of this game, especially during the bonus rounds. The graphics are perfect for the era this game is trying to capture, andwe defy anyone who remembers the 80s not to fall for Neon Staxx.

This game looks and plays great, whether you are accessing it via desktop or your phone.

Take a trip back to the future and enjoy the crazy stylings of this modern classic from NetEnt.
