Our Space Casino Review for 2021

Let’s talk about Space Casino, the brand-new hybrid casino who launched in 2017.

Hybrid casinos are casinos that accept both cryptocurrencies – like bitcoin – as well as fiat currencies – like the dollar – for payments.

That makes Space Casino unique and worth talking about.

However, it’s no guarantee we can recommend them to our readers. After all, they’re a brand-new casino – we know very little about them, or how they do business.

What we’ll have to rely on in the meantime is what we can see. Things like their banking options, promotions, games and terms.

We’ll gauge the quality of their casino that way until they develop some sort of reputation.

Interested in learning what we found out? Then continue reading below.

For this review, I needed to use a VPN to access Space Casino (because they don’t accept customers from the United States). I reviewed their site from a German server.

I mention this to point out that your experience – be it the banking options, limits, games, etc. – may be a little different than what you’ll see in our review.

Who owns and operates Space Casino? How long have they been in business?

Space Casino is owned and operated by Direx N.V. Direx N.V. is licensed and regulated by Antillephone N.V.

Space Casino launched their brand in 2017.

How’s their reputation? What do others think of them?

Since they’re new, it’s hard to gauge what their reputation is like. I’ll tell you what I can based on the little information available to me.

They have an 8.95/10 rating on AskGamblers.com. There are no complaints, and the only user review is a 5/10 rating. Their only complaint was that they were prohibited from playing some of the games there. That has nothing to do with Space.Casino, though – that’s on the software provider.

Space.Casino responded by copying/pasting their terms and conditions, which I feel lacks empathy and is sort of robotic. Not only that, but they suggested the player try a VPN and change the country in their player profile to try to solve the problem.

Tone aside, I’m not sure it’s a good idea for a casino to give workarounds like that to customers. Especially since they, and the software companies they work with, are under so much scrutiny from gaming regulators and authorities.

But, maybe that’s just me?!

Anyway, that’s all I managed to find out from casino review portals I trust.

Their weekly cash out limit is $600,000 USD, though this will vary based on your currency. The monthly cash out limit is $1.8 million.

I wasn’t expecting that. But I’ll take it.

What’s more is that they say that may make exceptions for VIP members or progressive jackpot winners.

I bet they don’t have to make those kinds of exceptions often.

Do they offer a welcome bonus? What are the terms?

They do – actually, they offer a little welcome bonus combo pack.

There are 4 bonuses total you can claim. You can claim the first 3 on your first 3 deposits to Space.Casino.

Let’s look at those now.

  • 1st Deposit – This is a 110%match bonus up to $150. If you deposit with bitcoin, you can get the same match up to 1 BTC. On top of this you’ll receive 150 free spins.
  • 2nd Deposit – Get a 75% match bonus up to $150. Again, if you deposit with bitcoin you can get as much as 1 BTC. You’ll also receive 50 free spins.
  • 3rd Deposit – Get a 50% match bonus up to $150 or 1 BTC. You’ll also receive 50 free spins.

What I like about these offers is how you can get significantly more - $2,000 more, depending on bitcoin’s value that day – when you deposit with bitcoin. That’s a pretty cool incentive.

Then there’s the reload bonus.

  • Reload bonus – Get a 50% match up to $150 or 500 mBTC and 50 free spins.

This isn’t as much as the last offer (in bitcoin), but that’s okay – it’s still $1,325.

Overall, this is a nice selection of offers. The dollar amount is pretty low for fiat currencies, but that might just be their way to encourage you to use bitcoin instead. And you can get more than enough if you use bitcoin, so I don’t think there’s anything to complain about.

Now let’s look at their terms.

  • If you receive more than 30 free spins, they’ll be given to you at the rate of 30 spins per day.
  • The default playthrough for their offers is 40x before you can cash out.
  • The max bet while clearing a bonus is $5 or 10 mBTC.
  • Each game will have a different value in terms of clearing a rollover requirement.

Here’s how Space Casino’s works:

  • Slots – 100% of bet
  • Table games (roulette, blackjack, baccarat, any kind of poker) – 10% of bet
  • Video poker – 10% of bet
  • All Live games and other games – 0% of bet

There are several slot machines that are worth less than 100%. If you plan to play slots to clear one of their offers, I highly recommend you visit their terms and conditions FIRST.

Now back to their terms:

  • The bonus money isn’t cashable, only your winnings are (once you complete the rollover).
  • The number of free spins you receive may vary on how much you deposit. The more you deposit, the more free spins you’re likely to get.
  • You must activate your free spins within one day or else they can expire.
  • Money won from free spins need to be wagered 20x before you can cash out.

That covers the terms that will apply to the offers above, and likely most promotions they offer in the future.

What additional promotions can you claim?

Nope, all they offer are the bonuses mentioned above.

I think that’s alright considering how much money they’re offering (in bitcoin), not to mention that they’re a brand-new casino. There’s a good chance they’ll have more promotions in the near future.

Do they have a comps and/or VIP program?

They do. They have a cashback program.

The funny thing is when I tried to check out their VIP page – and from multiple countries (Germany, Canada, France, Russia, etc.) – the page didn’t load for me.

However, they do explain how this program works in their terms and conditions page.

You’ll receive 1 point for every $10 you spend in their casino. But keep in mind this depends on two variables – the currency you’re playing in and the games you’re playing.

As far as games go, here’s what your $10 wager is worth / gets you in points:

  • Slots – 100% of bet
  • Table games (roulette, blackjack, baccarat, any kind of poker) – 10% of bet
  • Video poker – 10% of bet
  • All Live games and other games – 0% of bet

Let me give you an example of how this would work:

If you play video poker, each $10 bet you make is actually worth $1 (because $1 is 10% of $10). This means that you’ll need to wager 10x the normal bet for every point you want to earn.

Make sense?

The points you earn will determine your VIP status. There are 5 different statuses:

  • Mercury
  • Mars
  • Venus
  • Earth
  • Jupiter

Whenever you hit a new status you’ll receive a small gift (free spins). You’ll see how many in your player backend.

In addition, you’ll also receive cash back for reaching the Venus (5%), Earth (10%) and Jupiter (15%) status levels.

Cashback is credited once per week, on Mondays, and has no wager requirements. Once it hits your account, it’s yours to keep – no strings attached.

This is pretty cool. And I think this is a good start to what could be a VIP program in the future – complete with bonuses, higher table limits, 1-on-1 service, etc. All the usual stuff.

But for now, it works.

What software providers do they work with? What kinds of games can you play?

They work with:

  • Amatic
  • BetSoft
  • iSoftBet
  • NetEnt
  • SoftSwiss

After so many reviews, it gets old to have to mention any dirty laundry we know about. But I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t, so…

About a year ago BetSoft hit the news for failing to pay a customer a jackpot they won. It was their job to pay the customer, per their agreement with each casino.

They cited ‘breach of terms’ as the player won the jackpot with their free spins. However, this wasn’t in their terms and conditions until AFTER BetSoft refused to pay the player.

Needless to say, this caused some controversy and the result was BetSoft’s games being pulled from several online casinos, and then the company as a whole being added to several blacklists.

The Point:

You might want to avoid their games, which is a shame considering how much fun they are to play. At the very least you might consider avoiding their progressive games.

What devices is their casino compatible with? Are they mobile compatible?

This is an instant play casino – you play from your browser. The browsers that are usually compatible include: Google Chrome, Safar, Internet Explorer and Fire Fox. Though, your experience may vary depending on which one you use. But this should make it simple for just about anyone using Windows, Mac and Linux to access their casino.

Since this is a (hybrid) bitcoin casino, and it’s a browser casino, I’m positive they use HTML5 programming. This means their casino is mobile-friendly, too.

And while I couldn’t check out their site from my phone (no VPN), Apple and Android powered phones and tablets should have no problem here. Windows and Blackberry uses should be able to find a few games too, between how the casino is built, and the fact that BetSoft advertises that some of their games are Windows-friendly.

What are some examples of games you can play?

Here’s a brief look at some of the games you can play.

  • 7th Heaven
  • Alice Adventure
  • Aloha!
  • All Ways Fruits
  • Arrival
  • Astro Magic
  • Beach
  • Basic Instinct
  • Barbary Coast
  • Bells on Fire
  • Beverly Hills 90210
  • Blood Suckers
  • Book of Aztec
  • Boom Brothers
  • Cherry Trio
  • Cosmic Fortune
  • Cloud Tales
  • Casinova
  • Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
  • Drive
  • Elements the Awakening
  • Fairytale Legends: Hansel & Gretel
  • Frankenstein
  • The Glam Life
  • Great88
  • Greedy Goblins
  • Guns N Roses
  • Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
  • Jack and The Beanstalk
  • Family Guy
  • The Invisible Man
  • Platoon
  • Copy Cats
  • Dead or Alive

Remember – this is just a fraction of the slots they got.

Even if you don’t want to play them for real money – and no one would blame you if you didn’t – I still recommend trying a couple BetSoft slot machines for play money. They’re loads of fun. My favorites are Greedy Goblins, Madder Scientist and Under the Bed.

A couple other machines that caught my eye are from the old school monster movies. For example, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula, The Invisible Man and Frankenstein. I’d jump on those for real money if I could.

Table Games

  • American Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Double Exposure Blackjack
  • Caribbean Poker
  • Multihand Blackjack Pro
  • Blackjack
  • European Roulette
  • French Roulette
  • Hi Low Switch
  • Oasis Poker
  • Pontoon
  • Texas Holdem
  • Mini Blackjack
  • High Low
  • Caribbean Stud Poker
  • Casino Hold’em
  • Pai Gow Blackjack
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Punto Banco
  • Red Dog
  • 3-Card Rummy
  • Top Card Trumps

They have an absolute ton of table games. Though, I’d say probably half are blackjack and roulette variants. There are easily more than 12 blackjack games, as well as roulette games.

But the list above gives you a pretty good idea of what you can play outside of that.

They offer provably fair games if you play games from bitcoin software providers. We’ve written an article on bitcoin, including what provably fair games are if you don’t know. The short version is you can double check whether the game is fair after every hand or round you play. It’s a neat perk to playing bitcoin casino games that you won’t find otherwise.

You can see an example of this on their site. Just play a round of roulette, then click the icon that looks like a ribbon (between the full screen and sound buttons).

Live Dealer

  • Auto Roulette
  • Live Baccarat
  • Knock Out Baccarat
  • Russian Live Blackjack
  • Bet on Numbers
  • Blackjack
  • Keno
  • French Roulette
  • Automatic Roulette
  • Sic Bo

There are several more options than what’s in the list, but those are for players in certain countries (Russia, Spain, France, etc.) – and are likely for people who speak those languages.

This is an excellent list of live games, especially considering how new this casino is.

Video Poker

  • All American Double Up
  • Jacks or Better
  • Deuces Wild
  • Wild Texas
  • Joker Wild Double Up
  • 10s Or Better
  • Vegas Joker 4up
  • Poker Pursuit
  • Vegas Joker Poker
  • 10x Deuces Wild
  • 4x Tens or Better
  • Double Joker Poker
  • Five Draw Poker
  • Split Way Royal
  • Bonus Poker

There are 60 different video poker games. There are lots of duplicates, for sure. But I like how this allows you to choose the variant you want to play, based on the software and software provider you like most.

What do we think of Space.Casino? Do we recommend them to our readers?

I think so.

The tricky thing is they’re a brand-new casino. So, it’s not as if we can give you a thumbs up and say they’re perfectly legit and safe and that you won’t have a care in the world playing here.

That’d be blowing smoke up your backside – there are plenty of other casino review sites that have no problem doing that. We refuse to be one of them.

But if you ignore the lack of history, then they look like a pretty solid choice. While I’d like to see a few more offers, what they do have is plenty to get you started. And if you deposit with bitcoin you can collect more than 10x what players using fiat currencies can.

Then there’s their game selection. It doesn’t matter if you play slots, table games, live dealer games, or if you prefer provably fair games, you’ll find something to play here.

For those reasons, I think we’ll recommend them.

Just make sure you keep an eye on them in the meantime. And we’ll make sure to update this review with anything we hear – negative or positive – as well.
