Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Fulham Betting Preview – EPL, October 4, 2020

It is fair to say that the season has not started in the way Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo would have expected. Just one win from the first three games will not be good enough for the Portuguese coach.

That’s why nothing but a win against struggling Fulham on Sunday is required. But the Cottagers are in need of the points as well.

Wolves vs. Fulham Odds

Get used to seeing odds like this for Fulham to win games. Three defeats in a row to kick off the season – and a lot of goals conceded to go along with that – has shown that there is a lot of work to be done if relegation isn’t in Fulham’s future. BetOnline’s odds for the home win are probably the only one look for here.

Wolvers vs. Fulham Match Preview

Losing by four goals to West Ham was a huge surprise for Wolves last weekend as the Black Country side had been thought to be one of the contenders for a European spot this season. That can still be achieved of course, but the game did show up some deficiencies in the Wolves squad.

The club had seemingly recruited well again in the offseason – picking up some more experienced Portugal internationals to add to its tally. But since the opening day victory over Sheffield United there have been two defeats with seven goals conceded. Fulham at home would now seem to be the perfect fixture.

That’s because Scott Parker’s side has really struggled so far. Ten goals conceded have only seemed slightly better because of the three scored against Leeds. But there are real problems in west London if this is how Fulham is going to play this season. Its spell in the top flight was an expensive disaster last time and this campaign looks to be going the same way.

Aleksandr Mitrovic scored two of those goals against last year’s Championship title winners and it will be the Serbian striker who Fulham will be counting on to gain anything from this game. Villa scored three against the Cottagers last weekend though, so it would seem as though Fulham will need to score a lot of goals if it is going to win any points this year.

Wolves vs. Fulham Prediction and Betting Pick

  • Wolverhampton Wanderers to Win

The way Fulham has played this season means that the odds for the draw or the away win supplied by BetOnline here are nowhere near big enough to garner much interest. Wolves have not looked especially good so far but a much-needed victory would seem to be on the cards this Sunday.
