Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Crystal Palace – EPL, October 30, 2020

The latest round of fixtures in the English Premier League kicks off on Friday as Wolves welcome Crystal Palace to Molineux.

Both sides have started the season relatively well and a win for either would push them closer to the top group of clubs in the table at this early stage.

After the way that Wolves has handled itself in the Premier League over the last two seasons, it is not surprising that BetOnline has it favorite to win this one at home on Friday. But Palace has looked very interesting in the early weeks of the season – and the draw bet should not be disregarded immediately as an option.

Wolves should have put its game against Newcastle last weekend to bed before the first half of soccer was completed. But it struggled to finish the many chances created and was made to pay for its errors when Newcastle scored with just one minute left in the game.

Although just a point will be seen as a disappointing return for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, it has been a good start to the season so far. Only the 4-0 loss to West Ham has been a real surprise and it does look as though the Black Country club should be pushing for a European place once again.

Crystal Palace would probably like to just not be involved in a relegation tussle later in the year – and if it keeps playing the way it is at the moment, that should not be a problem. Roy Hodgson’s team has already posted some very good results and if it can become a little more consistent, the top half of the table should not be an unfamiliar place.

The win away at Fulham last week showed that it is able to beat teams at the foot of the table and come away from road games with vital points. Wilfried Zaha was the main contributor – as ever – but the opening goal from Jairo Riedewald showed that there is more talent throughout the squad.

This will probably be a much closer game than it has been in the last two seasons, but I still think that this Wolves side should be able to take all three points at home. There are some excellent attacking players in the squad and if they can finish their chances on Friday, Palace will not be able to keep up.
