Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Burnley – English Premier League, April 25, 2021
Wolves have endured an injury-stricken season but now look better, with relegation fears subsided. This will allow Nuno Espirito Santo to enjoy – relatively – the last few games of the season.
On Sunday, Wolves welcomes Burnley to Molineux. With Burnley dumped back into the bottom of the table due to a recent run of defeats, an away win is definitely needed for Sean Dyche’s side.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Burnley Odds
BetOnline doesn’t like Burnley’s chances of getting any relief this weekend and makes Wolves the odds on favorite to win at home.
Still, Burnley is usually tough to beat, so Wolves will have to fight for the points. A more relaxed home side could therefore make the draw bet look a little more interesting.
Wolves were the side that finally put Sheffield United out of its misery at the weekend, as an uninspiring 1-0 win sent the Blades back down to the Championship officially. With Willian Jose scoring the only goal of the game, the performance was just another example of how missing main striker, Raul Jimenez, has affected the team.
Nuno Espirito Santo will now have Pedro Neto unavailable for this, as he needs knee surgery – but will be buoyed by the news of having Neves back after a spell of self-isolation.
Burnley’s recent results have turned the end of the season into a much more fraught couple of months. Three successive defeats have seen the club drop down to 17th in the table and just six points above Fulham. The Clarets do enjoy a game in hand, but it’s a little too close for comfort.
Losing 3-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford at the weekend was expected, but the Clarets also lost to Newcastle and Southampton in recent weeks and have only won one of their last nine EPL games. An ongoing injury to keeper Nick Pope just makes things a little bit more difficult too.
Wolves vs. Burnley Prediction and Pick
Wolverhampton Wanderers to Win-104
This doesn’t look to be the most exciting game of the weekend, but Burnley needs to give it everything it has to ensure that the points gap at the bottom remains the same.
There is still an outside chance that the Clarets could go down, and another defeat here would give Fulham renewed hope.
