Predictions and Picks for WNBA Games – June 5th, 2022

| June 4, 2022 8:22 pm PDT

My WNBA predictions had a tough start on Tuesday. The Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings clutched up to give me a 2-2 day. Unfortunately, my best bets only led to one victory for the second straight week.

We’re switching it up this week, moving the WNBA picks to Sunday. This week’s WNBA schedule has the most games on Sunday, so we’ll spotlight those instead of focusing on two games on a weekday.

Hopefully, that’ll bring us good fortune. We’ll start with the WNBA betting odds for Sunday’s action.

WNBA Odds for Sunday, June 5th

  • Lynx (+3.0) (-110) vs. Liberty (-3.0) (-110), O/U 158.5
  • Fever (+7.0) (-110) vs. Dream (-7.0) (-110), O/U 160.5
  • Sun (+1.5) (-110) vs. Storm (-1.5) (-110), O/U 156.5
  • Wings (+7.0) (-110) vs. Aces (-7.0) (-110), O/U 169.5
  • Mystics (+8.0) (-110) vs. Sky (-8.0) (-110), O/U 157.5

The best basketball betting sites have yet to release the moneyline odds for each matchup, so we’ll focus on the spread and point total.

The Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty have two of the worst records in the league, but each team is moving in opposite directions in the spread. New York has covered in three of their last four games, while Minnesota has only covered once in their last four.

There’s not much to report with the betting trends for the Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream. Both teams are 3-3 against the spread in their last six games. Atlanta has gone under their point total in four of their previous five games.

The matchup of the day features the Connecticut Sun vs. Seattle Storm. Check out their record against the spread.

  • Connecticut Sun: 5-6
  • Seattle Storm: 3-6

Connecticut has gone over their point total in five of their last six games.

The Las Vegas Aces hold the best record in the WNBA, and their betting trends reflect that. They’ve covered in eight of their 11 games, while the Dallas Wings are 6-4 against the spread. Do you have enough faith to include the Wings in your WNBA picks?

The WNBA odds aren’t giving the Washington Mystics much respect. Washington is 8-3 against the spread, while the Chicago Sky are 3-6. They have combined to go under their point total in 16 of their 20 games.

Top WNBA Predictions for June 5th

  • Liberty (-3.0) (-110)
  • Dream (-7.0) (-110)
  • Sun (-1.5) (-110)
  • Aces (-7.0) (-110)
  • Mystics (+8.0) (-110)

My WNBA predictions for Sunday’s action kick off with the New York Liberty covering the spread against the Minnesota Lynx.

New York started 1-7, but they have momentum following back-to-back wins. They’re coming off an impressive road victory against the Washington Mystics. The Liberty should extend the win streak against the Lynx.

The WNBA odds have the Atlanta Dream as a (-7.0) point favorite. Some may think it’s high, but they’re playing the Indiana Fever. Indiana has lost eight of its last nine games, falling to the bottom of the standings.

Atlanta defeated Indiana twice on the road in 2022. They should take care of business at home.

Connecticut Sun star Jonquel Jones had a slow start to the season, but she has been impressive in her last two games.

  @ Aces @ Mercury
Points 20 24
Rebounds 7 7
Field Goal Shooting 7-9 6-8

Her improvement is a big reason my WNBA betting picks have the Sun covering the spread. Do you have faith in Connecticut?

The Las Vegas Aces are coming off their second loss of the season. Las Vegas has won by at least seven points in eight of their nine victories. My WNBA picks have plenty of faith in the Aces.

The Dallas Wings have been impressive, but it’ll be tough to keep it close. The latest 2022 WNBA Finals odds have the Aces as the favorite.

It’s interesting to look at the WNBA odds and see the Washington Mystics as an (+8.0) point underdog. The Chicago Sky are the better team, but eight points better? Chicago only has two victories over eight points in 2022.

My WNBA predictions have faith in the Mystics covering the spread.

Best Bets for WNBA Games on 6/5/22

  • Sun (-1.5) (-110)
  • Atlanta Dream Under 84 Points (-115)
  • Mystics vs. Sky Under 157 Points (-110)

We know the Connecticut Sun enter Sunday’s matchup with momentum, but what about the Seattle Storm? They’ve had a roller-coaster season featuring a recent COVID outbreak.

Seattle recovered from a 1-3 start to win four straight games. However, they followed that with a 17-point loss to the Dallas Wings on Friday night. They’ll have home-court advantage on Sunday, but that didn’t help against the Wings.

It’s tough to pick against Connecticut after their victory over the Las Vegas Aces. They should keep it going against the Storm.

I have faith in the Atlanta Dream to cover the seven-point spread against the Indiana Fever. However, my free WNBA picks have them scoring under 84 points. This projection revolves around a bad Indiana defense, but Atlanta’s offense hasn’t been great.

  • Vs. Mystics: 73 points
  • @ Mystics: 50 points
  • Vs. Mercury: 81 points
  • Vs. Lynx: 84 points
  • Vs. Sky: 65 points

Atlanta’s 75.5 points per game is the second-fewest in the WNBA. They should crack 80 points against the Fever, but 84 is too much for my liking.

I’ve discussed my criticism of the Washington Mystics as an (+8.0) point underdog. I don’t have an issue with the point total, but I believe there’s value in taking the under.

I talked about how both teams have favored the under this season. That has much to do with their defenses ranking top four in points. Neither allows more than 76 points. Honestly, neither team has a great offense.

Their first matchup on May 22 reached 155 points. It wouldn’t surprise me if this one failed to crack 150.

The WNBA isn’t the only basketball action on Sunday. Check out my betting preview of Game 2 of the 2022 NBA Finals.
