Predictions and Picks for WNBA Games – June 12th, 2022

My WNBA predictions for last Sunday went 2-3, but we had a pair of tough breaks. The Las Vegas Aces and Washington Mystics failed to cover the spread by one point. It could’ve easily been a 4-1 day.

We only have four WNBA games in action on Sunday, June 12, but we don’t have odds for the Indiana Fever vs. Minnesota Lynx. Will fewer games lead to a perfect day for my WNBA picks?

The WNBA odds have the moneyline available, but there’s not much value for the winner. Because of that, the WNBA betting odds focus on the spread and point total.

The Chicago Sky had a rough start with the betting trends. They only covered twice in their first eight games, but they’ve covered in four straight games. We’ve seen a similar story for the New York Liberty.

They covered once in their first six games but have done so in five of their last seven games. We haven’t seen a trend with the point total, but both teams favor the under. How will their recent stretch affect your WNBA predictions?

The Seattle Storm have a better record than the Dallas Wings, but their record against the spread tells a different story.

Perhaps the best basketball betting sites have noticed the trend. This is only the second time in the last seven games the Storm won’t be a 5+ point favorite. Dallas has covered in three straight games as the underdog. The point total has both teams around .500.

The WNBA odds aren’t giving the Phoenix Mercury respect, despite covering the spread in three of their last four games. It has gone the other way for the Washington Mystics, as they’ve covered once in their previous four games.

Washington has gone under their point total in 11 of their 14 games, but two of the last three have gone over. What will that do for your WNBA picks?

The Chicago Sky won their first championship in franchise history last season, but they didn’t look like a championship team in 2022. Chicago put the slow start behind them, winning four of their last five games. That includes impressive victories over the Connecticut Sun and Washington Mystics.

We’ve also seen improvement from the New York Liberty, but three of their last four wins are against the worst teams in the WNBA. They’ll play at home, but I don’t see them hanging with Chicago.

The Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings will have their third matchup in nine days. Check out their last two games.

Dallas embarrassed Seattle in their first matchup, but Seattle bounced back with a one-point victory. Dallas has tailed off after an impressive start, but they have no problem keeping it close.

They’ve lost four of their last five games, but only one featured a 6+ point deficit. My WNBA betting picks are leaning towards the Wings.

The Washington Mystics have a better record than the Phoenix Mercury, but you could make an argument for Phoenix playing better basketball. They lost by less than five points to the Sun and Sky. Then, they scored back-to-back wins.

Washington is 4-4 after a 5-1 start. They didn’t have an issue with the Liberty or Atlanta Dream, but we aren’t seeing the same level of play as early in the season. I like the Mystics to win, but the eight-point spread is too high.

My best bets went 2-1 last Sunday. Let’s see if my free WNBA picks will have another profitable day.

The Chicago Sky have been stout on the defensive end in their win streak. They’ve only allowed 80+ points in one of their last four victories. The New York Liberty have beat up on easy competition, but their offense struggled before that stretch.

I’m not expecting a close game as the Sky cruise to victory. Chicago’s offense should keep it going, scoring 80-85 points. My WNBA predictions don’t have the Liberty cracking 80 points.

The Seattle Storm dealt with early-season COVID issues, but their offense is intact for Sunday’s game. Check out their first-half scoring in the last three games.

The Atlanta Dream has one of the best defenses, so I wouldn’t worry about that performance. Seattle didn’t have an issue clearing 39.5 first-half points against the Connecticut Sun or Dallas Wings.

Can the Washington Mystics follow suit and go over their first-half point total? My free WNBA picks believe so. Washington has been right on this number, scoring 34-39 first-half points in four of their last six games.

They’ll benefit from a plus matchup with the Phoenix Mercury. Phoenix has allowed 86.3 points per game. The Mercury should have a tough time slowing down the Mystics in the first half.
