Predictions and Picks for WNBA Games – July 3rd, 2022
The 2022 WNBA season is quickly approaching the All-Star break. It has been a competitive first half, with five teams within three games of the top spot. Can the Las Vegas Aces hold off the pack?
My WNBA predictions are back for the final time before the All-Star break. Hopefully, the turn to July will bring more success. It has been a tough season, but the run has to start somewhere.

WNBA Odds for Sunday, July 3rd
- Mystics (+210) vs. Sun (-250), O/U 160.5
- Storm (-230) vs. Dream (+190), O/U 158.0
- Liberty (+155) vs. Sparks (-180), O/U 162.0
- Aces (-225) vs. Lynx (+185), O/U 174.5
The Washington Mystics’ betting trends have been the tale of two stories. They started 8-2, but they’re 5-7 in their last 12 games against the spread. They went under their point total in 10 of their first 11 games but have gone over in seven of 11 games.
Surprisingly, the Connecticut Sun have struggled against the spread. They’re 10-10, covering once in their last four games.
The WNBA betting odds have the Seattle Storm as the biggest favorite of the day. However, the betting trends don’t paint a clear picture.
Seattle is 9-11 against the spread, while the Atlanta Dream are 11-9. The Storm have covered in four of their last five games. Both teams are an even 10-10 with the point total. How will that impact your WNBA betting picks?

My WNBA predictions may have a tough time with the New York Liberty vs. Los Angeles Sparks. They enter with matching 10-9 records against the spread. Both teams have looked better lately.
There’s a little more clarity with the point total. New York is 9-10, while Los Angeles is 12-7. The WNBA odds never make it easy. Will you target the point total for the Liberty vs. Sparks?
The Las Vegas Aces vs. Minnesota Lynx matchup concludes Sunday’s WNBA slate. Las Vegas may have the best record in the league, but the betting trends haven’t been kind to them. The Aces have covered twice in their last ten games.
Minnesota has covered in six of their last seven games. Will your WNBA picks have an upset with Minnesota over Las Vegas?
Top WNBA Predictions for July 3rd
- Sun Over Mystics
- Storm Over Dream
- Liberty Over Sparks
- Aces Over Lynx
My WNBA game picks for Sunday, July 3 begin with the Connecticut Sun defeating the Washington Mystics. Connecticut hasn’t looked as strong lately, losing four of their last seven games.
However, they’ve played quality opponents. That stretch includes a pair of losses to the Chicago Sky. Washington won the last matchup with Connecticut, but they haven’t played great basketball. I’m taking the Sun to win because they’re the better team.
The Seattle Storm entered the season as a championship contender, but a 5-5 start didn’t give them confidence. They’ve climbed back into contention following an 8-2 stretch. Lately, they picked up one of the top players.
Tina Charles on leaving Phoenix Mercury and joining the Storm: “There’s a way that I want to play with the time that I have left. There’s a way I want to be coached. … For me personally, it just made sense. Just my mental space and being able to play the game that I love." pic.twitter.com/PN51ZN5yX1— Percy Allen (@PercyAllen206) June 28, 2022
We saw a surprise start from the Atlanta Dream, but they’re 5-10 over their last 15 games. The Storm have far more firepower. Therefore, it’ll be tough for Atlanta to keep up with Seattle.
The Mystics and Dream have struggled after great starts. It has been the opposite for the New York Liberty. New York started 1-7, but they’re 7-4 over their last 11 games. It’s surprising to see them open as the underdog against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Los Angeles’ season has been all over the place. Check out their record by segments.
My WNBA betting picks gravitate towards the Liberty.
I mentioned how the Las Vegas Aces hadn’t played as well lately. You should take that with a grain of salt as they still have the best record at 15-5. I expect them to improve that record with a victory over the Minnesota Lynx.
Minnesota has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season. They entered the season with championship hopes but now hold the second-worst record.
Best Bets for WNBA Games on 7/3/22
- Las Vegas Aces (-5.0) (-110)
- New York Liberty Over 79.5 Points (-110)
- Mystics vs. Sun Over 160.5 (-110)
The Las Vegas Aces have well representation in next week’s All-Star game. They have four All-Stars, including three starters. That shows how strong they’ve been through the first half of the season.
It’s hard to believe Las Vegas is only a five-point favorite against one of the worst teams. The Minnesota Lynx have played the Aces tough, losing their three matchups by a combined 13 points.
Las Vegas scored a six-point victory over Minnesota on Friday night. My free WNBA picks expect another great performance from the Aces.
It has been impressive to watch the New York Liberty’s turnaround. My WNBA picks weren’t high on them early in the season, but they’ve been a different team lately. The driving force behind that stretch is a much better offense.
- First 8 Games: 70.4 points per game
- Last 11 Games: 82.6 points per game
The Los Angeles Sparks have the second-worst defense, allowing 86.1 points per game. We haven’t seen the Liberty score under 79 points against a non-top-three defense since June 5.
It’s interesting to see my WNBA game picks side with over for the Washington Mystics vs. Connecticut Sun. Both teams have a top-three defense, allowing under 78 points per game. However, we can’t sleep on the offenses.
Washington’s offense has looked better lately, clearing 80 points in five of their last eight games. Connecticut averages 85.1 points per game. We should see both teams show up on the offensive end.
