West Ham United vs Manchester United Betting Preview – EPL, December 5, 2020

| December 2, 2020 8:53 am PDT

This looks like being an intriguing affair on Saturday, as a West Ham side that has climbed to fifth in the table takes on a Manchester United that was able to draw on all its reserves to beat Southampton last time out.

David Moyes will be facing his former club, of course. The West Ham manager is not remembered fondly at Old Trafford, and he would probably like to see his current side come away with the points to prove that he knows what he is doing.

West Ham United vs. Manchester United Odds

Manchester United to Win+105

Manchester United has recorded some good results this season, but there still seems to be uncertainty about the team’s chances of challenging at the top of the table. The form of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side means that you have to take a look at odds for the away win, but the draw bet feels more likely to come into me.

West Ham United vs. Manchester United Match Analysis

West Ham may have scored early on in the game against Aston Villa at the start of the week, but the first half of the game largely passed the Hammers by. Michail Antonio’s return to the starting eleven had been ineffectual, and it looked like Villa could come away from London with a win.

But the second-half performance was much better with Sebastian Haller replacing Antonio – and a better all-around effort from everyone involved. The win was thoroughly deserved, even though the Villa players can count themselves unfortunate to end up on the wrong end of some controversial refereeing and VAR decisions.

Manchester United also looked dead and buried after the first half of its game at Southampton last weekend. Two goals down at the break, United looked short of ideas. The Red Devils were also short of their first choice keeper for the second half as Dean Henderson replaced David De Gea after the Spanish international injured himself. He should be all right for this week’s game, though.

But it was a different Manchester United all through the team in that second half against Southampton. Edinson Cavani made the biggest difference by anticipating passes and crosses much quicker than anyone else. He scored the second of his two goals in injury time to win all three points. It looks like United is grabbing last-minute victories again.

West Ham United vs. Manchester United Prediction and Pick

  • The Draw

Even when he doesn’t play particularly well – as he didn’t for the first half, at least against Southampton – Bruno Fernandes is always at the center of everything going for Manchester United. He scored the goal that got his team back in that game and should lead the way again against West Ham. But the Hammers have vastly improved recently and could force a draw here.
