Wednesday’s NBA Predictions and Betting Tips – April 21, 2021

After taking it easy a bit recently, the NBA fires off in full force on Wednesday with a huge 12-game slate.
It won’t be as much fun without some of the biggest stars in the league taking the floor, but Wednesday’s NBA schedule still features some pretty interesting matchups.
The Suns and Sixers duke it out in a high-profile battle early in the night, while the Nuggets and Blazers wrap things in style.
Take a look at the full schedule.
- Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
- Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers
- Phoenix Suns vs. Philadelphia 76ers
- Golden State Warriors vs. Washington Wizards
- Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors
- Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets
- Atlanta Hawks vs. New York Knicks
- Detroit Pistons vs. Dallas Mavericks
- Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs
- Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Clippers
- Denver Nuggets vs. Portland Trail Blazers
- Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Sacramento Kings
It’s a loaded slate, to be sure, but sports bettors typically don’t want to just bet on every single game.
I’m here to help you sift through these contests to gauge the best bets to target at the best NBA betting sites. I’ll start with Wednesday’s NBA predictions while also touching on some upsets, and the top picks to target for April 21st, 2021.

Looking for free NBA picks that give you the winner and allow you to move along? That’s what my NBA predictions section is for.
I factor matchups, injury news, splits, ATS data, and more when I offer my free NBA game-winner predictions.
Most of these games are self-explanatory but keep in mind that things could change based on injury news. The NBA is one of the most fluid sports when it comes to betting on sports online, after all.
You can roll with these NBA picks as they stand, but I take a deeper look at some potential NBA upsets, as well as my favorite overall bets in the sections below.
NBA Upsets to Target on Wednesday
- Hawks (+1.5) -110
- Timberwolves (+5) -110
If you’re looking for some NBA upset picks to roll with, there are two I like for Wednesday. Both the Knicks and Hawks played yesterday, so fatigue is a non-issue here.
Instead of worrying about that, you can trust in the better team with more talent, and that’s Atlanta. The Hawks could always rest some guys on the second leg of a back-to-back set, but both teams have an incentive to keep winning.
The other team that looks good is Minnesota. I know they have a terrible record and probably want to lose so they can lock up that #1 pick, but if you can get a nice price against the Kings, you have to hop on it.
The T’Wolves come in as 5-point road dogs, which means their moneyline will be pretty attractive. Neither of these teams defends, and they both can score, so while the Over is the preferred play, I like the idea of going with Minnesota for some value.
Best NBA Bets for Wednesday, April 21st
- Bulls (-1.5) -110
- Jazz (-11) -105
- Timberwolves vs. Kings Over 239 (-110)
You can chase some value with my NBA underdog picks, but these three are among the best NBA bets for tonight’s slate.
Chicago still has a shot at the playoffs, so they’ll look to dispatch the Cavs. They’re mild favorites because they’re on the road and without Zach LaVine, but I don’t see much reason to go away from them here.
Utah could always rest guys, but considering they are in hot pursuit of the league’s best record, it might be in their best interest to just keep going. Houston has been awful ATS all year, and the Jazz have the highest point differential in the NBA.
Yes, they’re down Donovan Mitchell, but I just don’t expect the Rockets to stay in this one, regardless.
Minnesota is a fine underdog play, but the top bet in that game is the Over. The Timberwolves and Kings are both bottom-5 defenses, and Sacramento runs at the 5th fastest pace in the league.
That, and the Over is above .500 for both teams this year.
I love these three NBA bets for Wednesday, but you can always go with my NBA predictions to help carve out more wagers. Whatever you do, I wish you luck. Enjoy the games!
