Virtus.pro vs. FURIA Esports – BLAST Premier Showdown (November 27, 2020)
Both Virtus.pro and FURIA Esports were far from perfect in the opening round of the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown but kept their composure to progress to the next stage. I remind you that the tournament has only one bracket, so every defeat is final.
I share my thoughts on both sides and their chances to survive on Friday in this Virtus.pro vs. FURIA betting preview. The post features the latest odds of the leading sportsbooks, as well as my prediction and betting pick for the match.
Virtus.pro vs. FURIA Odds
The Virtus.pro vs. FURIA odds I use here are available at BetOnline which is one of the leading CS:GO sportsbooks online. The site constantly has better prices than the competition and you can find a good number of markets for all big tournaments, including the BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Showdown.
Virtus.pro Team Analysis
The last couple of weeks have been solid for Virtus.pro and the Russian have put themselves in a strong position to achieve their goals in November and December. They qualified to the playoffs of Flashpoint Season 2 with ease and beat Team Spirit to progress to the second round in the BLAST Fall Showdown.
And yet, the squad wasn’t exactly perfect in the process. Virtus.pro was defeat by OG, Gambit, and K23 already in November, and also lost maps against many weaker opponents. The team might struggle against the CS:GO better sides out there and pay a high price for some sloppy moments.
Even Team Spirit had some chances to bring VP down in the opener, so FURIA Esports certainly is not doomed. The Russian will need to stay focused or they might be eliminated early on.
FURIA Team Analysis
The big problem with FURIA Esports is the lack of action recently. The Brazilians haven’t played as many competitive matches in their opponents in the past two months or so and you could tell in their last couple of tournaments.
The squad lost twice in the BLAST Premier: Regular season against G2 and MIBR. The opener in the 2020 Showdown was tough as well. Isurus took FURIA all the way to three maps and won 14 rounds in the tiebreaker.
Only the superior individual talent saved the Brazilian team and you can’t rely on that against Virtus.pro and other big boys. FURIA will have to improve in the next stages or the squad will be eliminated from the tournament.
Virtus.pro vs. FURIA Pick
I believe that Virtus.pro has the edge here, but the betting sites agree with me and there’s no value in the odds for the Russians. The same can be said about the price for FURIA to win, but I like the over 2.5 maps option.
Both sides have been inconsistent and I don’t think any of them can finish the job without losing a map, so the +100 available for the over is my final pick.
