Virtus.pro vs. BIG – Flashpoint Season 2 (December 3, 2020)

| December 1, 2020 2:22 am PDT

We’re entering the decisive stages of Flashpoint Season 2 and two of the best teams in the tournament are about to meet in the Upper Bracket semifinals. Both BIG and Virtus.pro have high hopes, but one of the squads will be sent to the Lower Bracket on Thursday.

I share my thoughts on both sides and their chances to progress in this Virtus.pro v. BIG betting preview. The post features the latest odds and lines available on the web, my prediction, and a free betting pick for this CS:GO match.

Virtus.pro vs. BIG Odds

Virtus.pro to win +108
BIG to win -130
Virtus.pro (+1.5) -294
BIG (-1.5) +210
Over 2.5 +107
Under 2.5 -141

The Virtus.pro vs. BIG odds of the best esports betting sites show that there’s no clear favorite in this encounter. The German organization has a slight edge according to the sportsbooks, but it won’t be a shocker if the Russian side wins at the end.

Virtus.pro Current Form

November was busy for Virtus.pro and the team had both good and bad moments. The group stage of Flashpoint Season 2 is an excellent example of the inconsistent performance of the team.

Virtus.pro started with two victories over Cloud9 and Gen.G, before losing against OG in the last match. Still, the wins were enough to progress to the knockouts where the squad knocked out MAD Lions after a breathtaking battle that could’ve gone either way.

What I liked so far in the tournament is that Virtus.pro usually looks solid on its own map pick and the squad stays calm in intense moments. The problem is that several maps have been problematic and BIG is a team that can and will punish any mistake.

BIG Current Form

I highlighted BIG as the big favorite before the start of Flashpoint Season 2 and the German squad has proven me correct up to this point of the CS:GO competition. The side won group B after beating everyone else that was part of it and did the same against Team Envy in the knockouts.

At the same time, the first match from the eliminations was surprisingly close, considering the quality of the opposition. Envy won a map and put up a fight on the other two, pushing BIG to the limit.

I’ve had the feeling that the favorite does just enough to overcome the opponent twice now and that BIG can perform way better if required. I expect to see more from the squad in the upcoming matches, starting from the one against Virtus.pro.

Virtus.pro vs. BIG Pick

I don’t think that the match is as close as the odds suggest and BIG should be able to beat Virtus.pro on Thursday. It probably won’t be clean, but the price of -130 for the German organization looks like excellent value and I’m picking it.
