Top DFS Picks, Sleepers, and Lineup for USFL – Week 4, 2022

With the conclusion of an exciting Week 3 of the 2022 USFL season, we move into Week 4. This week could very well be another great one, as the new football league has been fun to watch so far.

USFL DFS picks have been wonky, as some players have great performances one week and then disappear the next. It’s just the nature of the league, as these players didn’t make it to the NFL for a reason.

That doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun and cash our USFL DFS lineups, so let’s get right into the top picks for this week.

The team that I am targeting heavily in Week 4 is the New Orleans Breakers against the Houston Gamblers. Houston’s defense has given up the most points, passing yards, and second-most rushing yards in 2022.

That means Breakers’ quarterback Kyle Sloter can have himself a huge game. One of his top targets is Johnnie Dixon, so stacking them could be a great move for Week 4.

Sloter has had two great fantasy performances in a row, after an unimpressive Week 1. He’s thrown for at least 240 yards, two touchdowns, and 25 pass completions in Weeks 2 and 3. Also add in a rushing score in Week 2, so he’s been able to get in the end zone.

Dixon has been one of his favorite targets, averaging 5.3 receptions on 8.3 targets per game. He also has 3 receiving touchdowns in the last two weeks. Him and Sloter could take advantage of the weaker Houston defense and continue their great start as a pair for 2022.

Although B.J Emmons has been pretty disappointing this season, he’s still one of the top fantasy running backs. His main problem so far has been efficiency. He gets plenty of touches, but 2.8 yards per carry is not going to get the job done. Luckily, he takes on Birmingham this week who allows the 3rd highest rushing yards per game to opponents.

For my fantasy defense, I am going to roll with Michigan. They’ve allowed a minuscule 19 points in 2022, which is an incredible 21 points less than the next best team (New Orleans).

With there only being 8 USFL teams, that leaves us with fewer options for sleeper quarterbacks. Nonetheless, J’Mar Smith’s price has him as a great pick for this week. His completion percentage was absolutely terrible last week (15/38, 39.5%) and he still scored 21 DraftKings fantasy points.

He’s scored at least 18 fantasy points in his first three weeks of the season too. His price tag makes him seem like a lesser quarterback, but his fantasy numbers have been great.

Reggie Corbin burst onto the scene last week and led the Panthers with 20 rushing attempts. He finished with an incredible 133 rushing yards and a touchdown for 22 fantasy points. Philadelphia is the league’s worst team in rush defense, so a big week for Corbin could be in store at an insanely cheap price.

Bug Howard’s price is another that looks too good to pass up. He’s been a reliable target for the Stars this year and is averaging 12.2 fantasy points per game. Howard is also coming his best game of the season with a 4 catch (6 targets), 78 yards, and a score as well against the Generals.

The Bandits were projected to be a top offense in 2022, but haven’t shown us yet. Birmingham can take advantage of their struggles and they’ve scored 14 and 16 points over the last two weeks.

These cheaper options are a great way to afford more expensive ones, so make sure you get a couple in your USFL DFS lineup.

For my top USFL DFS lineup for Week 4, I opted to go with J’Mar Smith at quarterback. He’s averaging the most fantasy points per game at quarterback and isn’t the most expensive option by any means.

I paired him with Victory Bolden Jr., who’s gaining steam. Bolden has gotten 12 and 13 targets in his last two games and finally got in the end zone last week as well.

T.J Logan Jr. is another name to watch this week. He missed last week due to an ankle injury and his backups put in a rather inefficient performance. Logan should be able to get around 15 touches and go up against a vulnerable defense in Houston.

I like the Panthers’ defense even more this week if Bryan Scott is injured. If he’s able to suit up for Week 4, I think New Orleans could be a great replacement option there as well.
