Tuesday’s NBA Predictions and Betting Tips (April 27, 2021)

The NBA isn’t the talk of the town this week. All eyes will be on the 2021 NFL Draft, and there are many avenues to make cash in that area.
If you plan on betting on the draft but aren’t sure where to go, hit up my post on where to bet on the 2021 NFL Draft.
As for the NBA, there are still six games on Tuesday’s schedule, and there appear to be several ways to make some money. Dive into the madness with me as I break down my NBA predictions and betting picks for April 27th.
NBA Predictions for Tuesday, April 27th
- Celtics to beat Thunder
- Blazers to beat Pacers
- Bucks to beat Hornets
- Nets to beat Raptors
- Rockets to beat Timberwolves
- Mavericks to beat Warriors
There is nothing too wild here, so if you’re looking for some free NBA picks, grab the predictions above and have at it.
Boston is still playing for seeding and should easily dispatch a bad OKC team. The Nets should be able to handle the Raptors, too, as they are trying to lock up the #1 seed in the east and have Kevin Durant back again.
Milwaukee is still in hot pursuit of that top seed, of course, so I like them to get it going against a depleted Charlotte squad.
Dallas is a team to watch, as they’re a bit nicked up as I write this. If they’re a full go, they should have enough to stave off a record-setting Stephen Curry.
Stephen Curry is up to 83 3-pointers this month, an NBA record for most 3-balls in one month. (Harden, 82)

With 2.5 games remaining in April, roughly an 83pct chance he gets to 100
Portland should be able to take out the Pacers, too. They’re healthy, they’re the better team, and they’re still trying to move up in the seeding game.
The Rockets vs. Timberwolves game is a bit of a toss-up. Actually, it’s a total toss-up. I’ll go with Houston just because they should be the better value, but both of these teams stink, and together they have just 32 wins on the year.
NBA Upsets to Target on Tuesday
- Mavericks (+120)
- Rockets (+105)
I have a lukewarm interest in the Rockets. They’re awful, they’re 1-9 over their last 10 games, and they actually have incentive to keep losing.
Oh, and John Wall is out for the year.

As bad as that looks, the Rockets are still at home, and they have Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr. to turn to. That, and Minnesota has just four more wins than them, is awful defensively, and have gone a horrendous 7-23 on the road this year.
Ideally Houston has a fatter moneyline than +105, but this is a total toss-up and you can get a little value here with the home dog.
Dallas is obviously the best NBA upset pick of the day. The Mavs sat Kristaps Porzingis last night, so conventional wisdom suggests he may be on hand for a huge battle with the Warriors.
Golden State is looking sharp (7-3 over their last 10) and they’re a solid 19-10 at home, but the Mavs are the better overall team. Getting Luka Doncic and co. at plus money feels like a fine risk worth taking on a slate otherwise absent of much alluring value.
Best NBA Bets for Tuesday, April 27th
- Hornets (+9) -110
- Bucks vs. Hornets Over 220.5 (-110)
Hopefully, more bets open up as the day transpires, but for now, I am focusing on the Bucks vs. Hornets contest.
Charlotte is the understandable underdog without LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward, but they’ve remained competitive even at less than full strength. The Hornets have won two straight and are still fighting to stay inside the top-8 in the Eastern Conference.
Milwaukee is one of the best teams in the league, but this is a thick spread for a road game against a competent opponent. I’ll take the Hornets at +9, and I also think the fast pace and lack of defense in this one make this 220.5 game total feel really light.
If other bets pop up, I’ll update my top NBA picks. For now, feel free to target these two wagers and keep an eye on the price for the Rockets.
