Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Bromwich Albion – EPL, February 7, 2021

These two clubs might be at opposite ends of the league table, but they are both going through a tough patch at the moment – and could both do with a win.

Spurs would seem to be the side with more to look forward to, but three successive defeats have seen Jose Mourinho’s tactics criticized.

Spurs have looked like a remarkably weaker team in the last few games without Harry Kane. But BetOnline still thinks that the north London side should be able to beat a limited West Brom on Sunday. The Baggies have brought in a number of new players but will probably still struggle for the rest of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Bromwich Albion Match Preview

Jose Mourinho has been showing his usual bullish response to the media when asked about his team’s poor results recently – and almost admitting that he does not have a replacement for the injured Harry Kane. There are a number of options open to him, but he doesn’t seem to really rate any of them.

Whoever does play upfront on Sunday should get more chances to score the goals that Tottenham will need to beat West Brom. But it is difficult to predict just who that will be. Bale seems out of favor as a central striker, whereas both Bergjwin and Vinicius don’t seem up to the job. Maybe the midfield will be relied upon to earn the three points here.

Sam Allardyce has a different kind of problem with his West Brom side – namely, keeping it in the Premier League for next season. To that end, he has signed some interesting-looking players on loan and on permanent deals – and there should be a new-look starting eleven for the Baggies here.

Robert Snodgrass should be able to help with the creativity in the midfield, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to be given his favored central position after being used as more of a wing-back at Arsenal. A lot will depend on how the new team gels, but West Brom doesn’t really have any other options but to go for it now.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Bromwich Albion Betting Pick

  • Tottenham Hotspur to Win

There is hope at Spurs that Harry Kane will be available for next Wednesday’s FA Cup tie against Everton. But the England striker will not take any part of this game on Sunday – and that means that there will be less chance of a Tottenham win. That being said, the home side should still be able to just about see off a poor West Brom.
