Tottenham Hotspur vs. Brighton and Hove Albion – EPL, November 1, 2020
Spurs will need its deep squad to cope with playing in the Premier League and the Europa League this season. But Jose Mourinho will still believe his side can beat Brighton on Sunday.
The Seagulls look like they will be scrapping at the foot of the table once again and manager Graham Potter will need to come up with some of his innovative tactics if his players are to win this weekend.
Here’s a look at how you could bet on the game with my Spurs vs. Brighton prediction and pick.
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Brighton and Hove Albion Odds
Spurs lost its European game to a weaker side on paper on Thursday. But there is still confidence in the London club to overcome Brighton on Sunday. BetOnline makes Tottenham the odds on favorite to win at home and it would be classed as a surprise result if Brighton does end up winning this one.
Assessing Spurs and Brighton
Spurs was not quite as impressive away from home at Burnley last week but still came away from Turf Moor with three points thanks to the ever-reliable Son Heung-min. The South Korean is the EPL’s top goal scorer so far this season and is looking like one of its better players too.
Harry Kane is also chipping in with a few goals of his own – and it is the partnership between those two that has propelled Spurs into the top five. There have been some curious draws at home already this season however, so Jose Mourinho will have to make sure that his players are fully concentrating to beat Brighton.
The Seagulls come into this as underdogs and do look as if they will continue to struggle this season. It is not as though Brighton is a long way off the level needed to compete in the English top flight, but it will always find the going tough against the bigger clubs especially.
Missing captain and defensive lynchpin Lewis Dunk once again does not help matters for the south coast side. He is still suspended after receiving a stupid red card against Crystal Palace. He cannot really be replaced and Son and Kane might end up giving keeper Mathew Ryan a busy day on Sunday because of that.
Tottenham vs. Brighton Pick
Tottenham Hotspur to Win-161
If Son and Kane click as they have done already this season, this game has the potential to be one of the most one-sided of the weekend. Brighton can sometimes look below par when one of the bigger clubs really starts playing and Tottenham does seem to be in the mood this season. This should end in a home win – it could be by quite a few goals too.
