Top Sleeper Bets for the 2021 Go Bowling at the Glen

If you have had the chance to check out the latest NASCAR odds for the 2021 Go Bowling at the Green, you’d know there are some big prices to be had.
The Cup Series returns to Watkins Glen this Sunday, August 8, with Chase Elliott a huge +175 favorite to win. There’s no value at all in those odds, which means you’re going to have to cast your net a little wider for better prices for the race.
I’ve put together four top sleeper picks for the 2021 Go Bowling at the Glen for you to look at. Aric Almirola’s win as a +8000 underdog in the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 in July has shown that the series is still open, so it’s worth adding at least a couple of the following NASCAR value bets and sleepers to your list.
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite Cup Series veteran.
Kurt Busch +2200
Alright, Busch is hardly the most popular NASCAR driver of all time.
But a top sleeper for the Go Bowling at the Glen this weekend, he certainly is. And quite rightly.
At these odds, Busch is worth a shot.
The 2004 Cup Series king has been in excellent form as of late. He went 8, 6, 8 at Sonoma, Nashville, and Pocono’s Saturday race, before taking 4th at Road of America. Then, he surprised NASCAR oddsmakers by winning the 2021 Quaker State 400 in July.
That’s an excellent return. While his finishes of 20th at Pocono’s Sunday race and 14th at New Hampshire aren’t as impressive, they aren’t dreadful by any means.
The 42-year-old has two top-5s and six top-10s from his last seven races at The Glen, with an average finish of 15.89 from 15 races. That makes him the 11th best active driver on this track and good value for a top-5 finish at +300.
The man is in good form right now.
Ryan Blaney +2800
Blaney is another of my best sleepers for The Glen at these odds.
There is value to be had on the 27-year-old, who took the checkered flag at Atlanta in March. Back-to-back 5th place finishes at the Quaker State 400 and the Foxwoods Casino Resort 301 in July show that he is in a good place and could be a very tricky customer this Sunday.
As for value bets for the 2021 Go Bowling at the Glen go, he’s worth a couple of dollars to win the race. But +800 for a top-3 finish is probably the top pick of the bunch.
Aric Almirola +8000
Almirola came out of nowhere to win at New Hampshire in July.
That was his first Cup Series win since October 2018, when he crossed the line in first at Talladega. This Sunday, he is arguably the best sleeper bet for the Go Bowling at the Glen.
Odds of +8000 show that the bookies aren’t exactly sold on the 2021 All-Star Open winner registering back-to-back Cup Series victories for the first time in his career. I’m inclined to agree that his chances are slim.
Still, you can get odds of +1500 for a top-5 finish. If you have some loose change burning a hole in your pocket, he’s definitely worth sparing a thought for.
Erik Jones +15000
The last of my top sleepers and value bets for the 2021 Go Bowling at the Green is Erik Jones.
Things haven’t gone to plan for Jones in 2021, but he has the potential to surprise at The Glen. These odds are in no way indicative of his class, and there is huge value to be had in the prop markets over at the best online sportsbooks for NASCAR.
Jones, the first driver in history to win Rookie of the Year in the three NASCAR national series championships, has an average finish of 6.33 from three Cup Series starts on this track. His most recent finish of 4th came in 2019, having punched out at 5th in 2018 and 10th the year before.
If you’re looking for the best longshot for the Go Bowling at the Glen in 2021, this is your man.
More NASCAR Picks
There you have four top sleepers for the 2021 Go Bowling at the Glen. Make of them what you will.
Although Chase Elliott is heavily favored to win at The Glen this Sunday, anything can happen on race day. Instead of putting all your eggs in one basket, it can pay to look at props for Cup Series races and implement them into your NASCAR betting strategy.
I’m signing off for now. Make sure to check out our latest recommended bets for NASCAR before you go.
