Thistledown Racino Picks – Tuesday, September 15, 2020

Thoroughbred racing at Thistledown Racino continues apace Tuesday, September 15, with a schedule of eight claiming and maiden matches.
Remember that while I make picks and predictions for the three richest races at Thistledown today, you can always find the track’s full race-card at the leading horse racing betting sites.
Enough appetizer. Let’s get to the main course—read on for my Tuesday picks and predictions for Thistledown Racino.
Selection for Thistledown Racino Race 3
This is a claiming race for Ohio foals three-years-old and upward running a distance of 5-1/2 furlongs for a purse of $14,600.
Since all the horses in this race have won two, I’m going with the entry that has moneyed the highest percentage of starts. Which means I’m backing the 6/1 underdog Truest of Them All, with Erik Barbaran in the irons. This four-year-old gelding finished in the money ten of his 17 career starts.
Sorry, but none of the longer-odds entries show any promise in this race, so let’s save it for later.
- Win: Truest of Them All 6/1
Selections for Thistledown Racino Race 7
This is an allowance race for Ohio foals three years old and upward running a distance of one mile and 40 yards for a purse of $29,300.
I’m backing the first half of the first coupled entry, the 5/2 favorite Tapaway, with Christian Pilares aboard. This three-year-old gelding moneyed seven of his 13 career starts. Please note that if Tapaway is scratched, his coupled entry—Estrella de Dane—is not in the same league and shouldn’t be considered a win bet under any circumstances.
But if a Tapaway scratch happens, then my win bet goes to the 7/2 underdog, Fu Roo, ridden by Ricardo Feliciano. This four-year-old gelding finished in the money three of his seven starts.
There are no long odds in this race. Still, you might want to buy a show ticket on the 9/2 Tancahua, with Luis A. Gonzalez aboard. this five-year-old gelding moneyed 18 of his 28 starts.
- Win: Tapaway 5/2
- Show: Tancahua 9/2
Selection for Thistledown Racino Race 8
This is a maiden special weight race for fillies and mares three years old and upward running a distance of one mile and 40 yards for a purse of $20,000.
I like the morning line’s second choice here—the 7/2 underdog Kendalin, with Luan Machado aboard. This three-year-old filly moneyed two of her three career starts and also performed better than the favorite in recent workouts.
Sorry, no odds longer than 10/1 in this maiden race, so no longshots to tout.
- Win: Kendalin 7/2
