Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Betting – 2020 World Series, Game 6
Tuesday night gives the Los Angeles Dodgers a chance to win their first World Series championship since 1988 as they now hold a 3-2 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. The big issue for this contest was going to be the performance of Rays starter Tyler Glasnow, who was hit hard early, giving up three combined runs in the first two innings. Los Angeles got two homers and Clayton Kershaw tossed 5.2 solid innings to put the Dodgers one game away from the title.
The Rays return to ace Blake Snell to try to stay alive. Los Angeles counters with Tony Gonsolin who has been hit hard in the postseason.
Rays vs. Dodgers Odds for Game 6
Gonsolin likely is giving the Dodgers an opener, but oddsmakers see this as a precursor to a high scoring contest as the total comes in at 8.5, the highest set in the series. Surprisingly, this comes after the lowest scoring contest of the series in Game 5 when six total runs were scored. The teams have gone over 8.5 in three of the five games.
The Dodgers are favored to win Game 6 at -140. L.A. has been favored in all six games. When giving up 1.5 runs, the Dodgers come in at +130.
Game 6 Preview
It is win or go home for the Rays. They must get a big game to stay alive and have their ace on the hill. Snell is 2-2 with a 3.33 ERA in five postseason starts. Snell was solid in his first start against L.A. allowing two runs in 4.2 innings.
Tampa Bay is 2-0 in elimination games this postseason, as they beat the Yankees in Game 5 of the ALDS and the Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS. The challenge for them will be to win two straight games for the first time in this series. Each time they have fallen behind by a game they have responded to tie the series, and winning tonight is the priority right now.
Randy Arozarena continues to make history with 27 hits and 9 homers, both playoff records. He is 6 for 18 with two homers and three RBI in the World Series, but could use some help. Brandon Lowe has stepped up, adding six RBI against L.A.
Gonsolin goes for the Dodgers, and this is probably a two-inning appearance at most. Since getting rocked against Atlanta on October 13, the right-hander has made two appearances, going a total of 3.1 innings, allowing three runs. He started against Snell, allowing one run in 1.1 innings before getting the hook. His nine strikeouts in 7.2 innings is impressive, but seven walks and three homers are especially concerning.
With yesterday being an off day and there only being two games potentially left to the season, the Dodgers bullpen will be all in on this contest. That will include left-hander Julio Urias, who started Game 4, but has been awesome out of the bullpen.
Los Angeles has been very productive offensively in this series. They have scored 29 runs in five games and have yet to score less than four runs in any contest.
Rays vs. Dodgers Game 6 Pick
The Dodgers can taste the title, but not so fast. Tampa Bay has their ace on the hill and has to feel pretty good about their chances, especially considering that Gonsolin has been ridiculously terrible in the playoffs.
I think that this gives life to Tampa Bay, who will score early on their way to forcing a Game 7. Take Tampa Bay to win, 5-4.
