Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Betting – NFL Week 7, 2020

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bounced back from a tight loss to the Chicago Bears with an empathic win over the unbeaten Green Bay Packers, in what was one of the most surprising results of Week 5. They now improved to a 4-2 record and are at the top of the NFL South with a win ahead of the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers.
The Las Vegas Raiders made the biggest surprise of Week 5 with a road victory over the defending champions and divisional rivals Kansas City Chiefs. It was the highest-scoring game of the week and the Raiders deservedly secured the unlikely victory. They now got to only one win behind the Chiefs in the AFC West, and are hoping to stay above .500 with another victory over the Bucs. Here is my Buccaneers vs. Raiders betting pick.
Betting Odds for Buccaneers vs. Raiders
The Bucs Impressed in a Win Over the Packers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers displayed both the best offensive and defensive performance in a big 38-10 home victory over the Green Bay Packers, despite the slow start of the game. Namely, the visitors took a 1-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes, but that was all from Aaron Rodgers and the Packs, who couldn’t move the chains afterward. Tampa forced a couple of interceptions, one of which they returned for a touchdown, and sacked Rodgers four times, which never happened to him before in his career.
Tom Brady completed 17 of 27 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. His longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski caught five of Brady’s passes for 78 yards and a touchdown, while Chris Godwin recorded five receptions for 48 yards. Ronald Jones II dominated on the ground with 113 yards and a pair of scores on 23 carries as the Packers couldn’t find the way to stop him. Devin White led the defenders with ten tackles (nine solos) and one sack, while Lavonte David and Jason Pierre-Paul had 1.5 sack apiece.
The Buccaneers are the 10th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 29.5 points per game, 18th in passing yards (249.0), 20th in rushing yards (109.2), while they have the 7th defense that allows 20.3 points per contest.
Raiders Upset the Champions on the Road
The Las Vegas Raiders scored 40 points for the first time in two years and displayed the best offensive performance since they relocated to Las Vegas from Oakland. They beat the reigning champions Kansas City Chiefs 40-32 on the road, despite trailing 14-3 early in the second quarter. It was a great display from the offense that totaled nearly 500 yards and kept the ball on its possession for ten minutes more than the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, the detail that helped them win this encounter.
Derek Carr completed 22 of 31 passes for 347 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception as he outperformed the former MVP Mahomes. Henry Ruggs III led all the receivers with 118 yards and a touchdown in just two receptions, as he proved out to be a deep threat and unsolved enigma for the Chiefs’ defense. Nelson Agholor and Darren Waller also found the endzone, while Josh Jacobs ran for 77 yards and a pair of TDs on 23 carries. Nevin Lawson, Johnathan Abram, and Cory Littleton combined for 16 tackles.
The Raiders are the 7th team in the NFL when it comes to the offense with 30.2 points per game, 7th in passing yards (278.4), 13th in rushing yards (121.0), while they have the 27th defense that allows 30.4 points per contest.
Prediction and Pick
Despite the fact the Bucs kept their opponents to just ten points already twice this season, the Raiders’ offense will be tough to handle because they are playing in a quite unpredictable manner. Derek Carr is using his multiple weapons and given they will have more time to recover after coming from a bye week, I am not sure about the Bucs’ win here. The Raiders’ defense is not playing well, and I expect the visitors to be efficient from both air and ground, so I am going with Over.
