It is difficult to argue with the online betting sites’ viewpoint here. In fact, I am slightly surprised that the odds for the away win are above 1.20.

Swansea (10.75) heads into this clash on a decent run, but there is absolutely no denying that Man City (1.25) should advance to the quarter-finals without any hiccups on Wednesday.

Swansea has enjoyed an easy route to the fifth round of the FA Cup, claiming comfortable wins over Stevenage (2-0) and Nottingham Forest (5-1) in January.

Steeve Cooper’s men have also established themselves as one of the Championship’s in-form teams this year. Indeed, an eight-game unbeaten streak (6 wins, 2 draws) has seen the Swans move up to third in the second-tier standings – two points shy of first-place Norwich City.

Despite winning six of their last seven matches in all competitions, I can’t imagine that Swansea will be overly confident heading into Wednesday’s game. However, Cooper’s men can’t afford to be overawed by the occasion.

The Swans can take confidence from the fact that they currently boast the best defensive record in the Championship. They have only conceded 15 goals in 27 league outings this term, scoring 35 in reply.

Newcastle United loanee Freddie Woodman has been immense between the sticks this season, while Chelsea loanee Marc Guehi has also shone at center-back. Needless to say, the EPL duo will need to be at their very best when Man City comes to town.

There is never really a good time to face Pep Guardiola’s side. But right now, it feels like there hasn’t been a worse time to come up against Man City.

Having last tasted defeat all the way back in November, the Cityzens are currently enjoying a 21-game unbeaten streak in all competitions. That run includes ten straight Premier League wins, leaving the club five points clear at the top of the EPL table.

Guardiola’s men haven’t just been winning games; they have been crushing their opponents with ease. Not only have they scored over 2.5 goals in five of their last 14 league matches, but they have also kept a remarkable 11 clean sheets in that time.

The 4-1 victory at Anfield on Sunday underlined Man City’s power. An Ilkay Gundogan brace, along with goals from Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden, saw last season’s runner-up crush the defending champions in their own backyard.

Guardiola is likely to give a number of his star performers a rest on Wednesday. Still, the Cityzens’ deep squad enables them to compete on all fronts.

Given that Man City hasn’t lost any of their previous 21 games in all competitions, I honestly think that odds of 1.25 for Guardiola’s side to win on Wednesday are pretty good.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m expecting Swansea to give their visitors a decent challenge. But at the end of the day, the gulf between these two teams is vast.
