Suwon Samsung Bluewings vs. Busan IPark Betting Preview – K League 1, August 29, 2020
Suwon looks to bounce back from a demoralizing defeat to bottom of the table Incheon United last week as it welcomes Busan IPark on Saturday.
The Bluewings are just three points clear of last place now and need to take something from their very spirited visitors this weekend.

Busan IPark has spent the majority of the season playing attractive soccer and putting in a lot of good effort, but for very little reward. That probably explains why BetOnline has made the home team the favorite to win this one. But Suwon is not playing very well at all this year and the chances of a draw – at the very least – look good to me.
Even with just three wins in the entire season, Suwon was looking safe enough around a month ago thanks to Incheon’s inability to record a win. But the tables have turned in the last two weeks – with last Saturday’s defeat to their fellow strugglers a huge blow for the Bluewings.
Now the prospect of relegation seems a lot more real – as well as the embarrassing potential to be replaced by Suwon FC from K League 2. Outside of the cup there has been just one win since the middle of June for the home side and a lack of goals has really affected its chances of staying up this season.
Busan IPark’s problem this year has been more with consistency. Results have come in patches – but the good news is that it looks like a more positive run of games has now started. The draw with Seongnam a couple of weeks ago was a good result considering the five games without a win that preceded it. But last weekend’s 2-1 win against Pohang was a very pleasant surprise.
The three points earned from that game helped Busan climb back up to seventh in the league table and, more importantly, keep up with FC Seoul – another club that has enjoyed an improvement in form. It looks like being a close run thing to make that all-important sixth place but a win here would be a huge help.
Suwon vs. Busan Prediction and Pick
With just five games to go until the league splits in two, there will be even more pressure on clubs like Busan to keep up with the top six. Those kinds of hopes have disappeared for Suwon already but it is more interested in picking up points to escape relegation now. That all makes for a tight game on Saturday and the draw seems to be the most likely outcome.
