Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou 2 at UFC 260 – Predictions and Betting Picks

| March 24, 2021 10:10 am PDT

Are you betting on Stipe Miocic to retain his UFC heavyweight title at UFC 260 this Saturday, March 27?

Or will you be gambling real money on odds for Ngannou to beat Stipe? Sure, beating the champion was something that “The Predator” failed to do when these two first met at UFC 220 in January 2018, losing by unanimous decision to Miocic in a pretty tame fashion.

But that hasn’t put off fans betting on the Cameroon-native ahead of the UFC’s biggest heavyweight rematch of all time.

Speaking of which, the odds for the Stipe vs. Ngannou rematch have been very interesting to follow. Despite Ngannou opening as a significant betting favorite, the betting line for UFC 260’s main event makes this pretty much a pick ’em.

I’ll be sharing those prices a little later, as well as the top bets for the fight. Additionally, you will find my predictions and Stipe vs. Ngannou betting pick for the big fight.

Let’s get the ball rolling with who I’m backing in this fight.

Who Wins the Stipe vs. Ngannou Rematch?

Stipe Miocic to Win by Unanimous Decision

A few months ago, I was asked who will win Miocic vs. Ngannou 2? I was surprised at myself for initially opting for Ngannou, especially as it felt more of a reflex answer than one I could back up.

Since then, I haven’t exactly been able to find a reason for wagering on Ngannou to win. I mean, all it takes is one shot for him to end the fight, but as I will explain later, the African will be up against it on March 27.

More on my predictions for Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 a little later. First, let’s check out the odds for UFC 260’s big one.

I put together a betting preview looking at the best online odds for the Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou rematch last week.

Between then and now, there has been clear movement on the betting line for Stipe vs. Ngannou 2, with the former’s odds falling from +114 to -105 with online UFC betting apps and sites. However, since the line opened, we have seen significant movement for both fighters, with Ngannou falling from -225 to -125 and Stipe at +190 at his best price.

Stipe is very popular with gamblers ahead of UFC 260. And I’ll explain why he is the smart bet in this fight.

For now, let’s take a look at the top wagers to place on the Stipe vs. Ngannou rematch.

Best Bets for Stipe vs. Ngannou 2

I have thought long and hard about who wins between Miocic vs. Ngannou.

My conclusion is that looking past Stipe would be a bad move. That’s why I have opted to put faith in the firefighter ahead of UFC 260 and have picked the three best bets for Miocic vs. Ngannou 2 above.

Yes, the Cameroonian is an explosive, dangerous, and frankly terrifying finisher. But he is not as accomplished as the champ.

Take the odds above for Stipe to win the fight if you are happy with that price. If you’re in two minds about who will win at UFC 260, opt for the fight to end over 2.5 rounds.

As crazy as it sounds, Miocic is +700 to win by unanimous decision, which looks like insanely good betting value for the fight.

Why Stipe Beats Ngannou at UFC 260

It should be pretty obvious by now that if you asked me who wins between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou, I’d opt for the champ.

There are a few reasons for this. The most convincing is that Stipe has already beaten Ngannou, and he made it look relatively straightforward.

If you’re gambling on Ngannou to beat Miocic, you should ask yourself how The Predator wins. I mean, he lost every single round against the American at UFC 220 and took a significant mental hammering as a result.

Miocic has the upper hand, psychologically. Physically, he is not as explosive but is certainly the better grappler, the more diverse striker, and quite simply, just better-rounded. His adaptability and versatility would pose problems to anyone in the UFC heavyweight division’s history, let alone a fighter in Ngannou who relies on power and early stoppages.

While you can’t rule Ngannou out, I predict a unanimous decision victory for Miocic at UFC 260.
