Manu Ginobli turns 44 next week and won’t be flying around the court for Argentina in Tokyo. With that being said, another “40-something” will be guiding the South American country at the upcoming Olympic Games.

Scola, 41, hasn’t played an NBA game since 2017 with Brooklyn. He’s ten years removed from averaging a career-high 18.3 ppg with the Rockets. Then again, in Argentina’s first friendly with Australia in Las Vegas, Scola scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds, playing a team-high 29 minutes.

Leandro Bolmaro (Minnesota Timberwolves), Gabriel Deck (Oklahoma City Thunder), and Lucas Vildoza (New York Knicks) will all be featured prominently. Denver Nuggets point guard Facundo Campazzo will run the point, and Nicolas Brussino will play big minutes.
