Sleeper Picks for the 2021 NASCAR Goodyear 400

I have three sleeper picks for the 2021 Goodyear 400 for you to look at today.

The big race goes down at the Darlington Raceway this Sunday, May 9, and I have found drivers with big odds that could tame “The Lady in Black” this weekend. This Cup Series race will be part of the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR, making it a bright one on the calendar.

Jones comes in with mega odds for the Goodyear 400 in 2021.

Of all the active drivers lining up this Sunday, Jones has the best average finish of them all, with 5.17. Now, there is a catch; Jones has only started six races here, while some of the more experienced guys behind the wheel have 20+ races. Still, that is an awesome record.

Jones is my top sleeper bet for the 2021 Goodyear 400 on account of his mammoth odds. Let’s not forget his one win, four top-5s, and six top-10s from those six races. As a return, you will not find anything better than that with active drivers. This makes Jones’ odds to win with the best online sportsbooks super value in my eyes.

Jones is unequivocally the best long-shot bet for the Goodyear 400. Will his skills match those he has demonstrated in the virtual realm?

The next of my 2021 Goodyear 400 sleepers to look at is Austin Dillon.

Dillon has been on a solid run of late. He’s finished 10th, 8th, and 10th at Richmond, Talladega, and Kansas, respectively. I’d back the RCR star to crack his fourth consecutive top-10, but I am leaning towards Dillon challenging for an even higher finishing position than 8th. 

Having finished third at the 2021 Daytona 500, Dillon set his stall out for a big campaign. It’s been up and down thus far, but there is no doubt that he is on the right track (pun unintended). So, could he be a good shot at odds of +5000?

Let’s put it this way. Dillon has the momentum behind him as well as a solid record at The Lady in Black. From nine career starts here, he has two top-5s and three top-10s. Well worth a shot, wouldn’t you say?

The third and last of my Goodyear 400 picks for Sunday is Tyler Reddick.

Reddick has three top-7s, and one top-8 from his last five starts this season. His best position of the campaign was registered at Homestead, where he stormed in at 2nd.

I would not be surprised at all to see Reddick win this race. It’s just the second time he starts at Darlington and is a real wild card.

If you want a longshot bet for the Goodyear 400 with a genuine chance of success, back Reddick with some pocket change.
