Sleeper Picks for the 2021 NASCAR Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500
I’ve got four top-notch value bets and sleepers for the 2021 Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 for you to look at today.
The big race goes down at Martinsville Speedway on April 11, and NASCAR bettors will be keen to get the best big odds and long shots for the Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 nailed before race day. Well, at least some gambling on the next Cup Series race will.
Let’s cut to the chase and get to my best sleepers for the Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500.
Kevin Harvick +1400
Harvick’s odds to win the 2021 Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 are surprisingly good.
The NASCAR veteran sits in eighth place in the overall standings for active drivers at Martinsville. The 2020 Cup Series Regular Season champion has one win at “The Half Mile of Mayhem” in his career, with five top-5’s, nineteen top-10’s, and has led for a total of 628 laps.
2021 hasn’t been a great year for “The Finisher” thus far, but all it takes is one win for a driver of his caliber to get going. Whether it’s on the shortest track on the NASCAR calendar or not, Harvick will be keen to get back to winning ways after the Easter break.
At these odds, he could be the best of the top sleepers for the Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500.
Kurt Busch +3000
Busch might have one foot in the twilight, but he’s still capable of making life tough for those around him.
Better yet, he is fully equipped with the tools necessary to win at Martinsville. After all, he has won here twice — in 2014 and 2002 — and has failed to finish outside the top-9 drivers just once from his last five races. He has finished 5th, 9th, and 6th from Nov. 2020 back to the First Data 500 in October 2019.
Busch’s odds make him a real steal and one of my very best Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 sleepers. Especially if we were to see some rain in Virginia…
Ryan Newman +8000
We’re entering the territory of Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 longshot bets with this one.
Well, at least according to the bookmakers, who have gladly slapped a +8000 tag on Newman. Which I believe to be pretty interesting, to say the least.
Does Newman deserve to be the betting favorite for the Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500? Erm, do bears poop in executive bathrooms? Still, his track record and general performance history at the paperclip make more than worthy of some spare change on April 11.
If you head over to the top NASCAR betting apps, you’ll see that Newman’s odds place him among the back end of the field. This is despite the fact that he is the 7th best active driver at Martinsville. That’s right. Newman has a better record on this track than Kevin Harvick, despite only having one less Cup Series race here.
With an average finish of 14.82 from 28 races, you could do worse than get on Newman to finish in the top-5. If you’re feeling lucky, put a couple of units on Newman to win.
He might be one of the best value sleeper bets for the Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500, but “Rocket Man” is not the only driver at bloated odds, worthy of a punt.
Austin Dillon +8000
With an average finish of 19.86 at Martinsville, with two top-5s and two top-10s, it doesn’t take Perry Mason to crack the case of Dillon’s big odds.
Those aren’t great numbers, but they are hardly atrocious. Thus, the question worth raising here is whether the grandson of NASCAR legend Richard Childress is worthy of a place on this list. Yes. He is.
Dillon has been in steady form this year with a third place in the Daytona 500 and a 6th place finish at Atlanta in March the highlights. But it feels like he can take RCE’s No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE to greater heights, and I wouldn’t rule him out of pulling a real upset out of the bag on the day.
Long shot bets for the Blue Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 in 2021 don’t come better than this, in my opinion. Providing you don’t put everything other than the chicken feed on Dillon, he could be a top sleeper.
