The SK Wyverns vs. Kiwoom Heroes odds of the betting sites clearly show who’s the favorite in the series opener on Thursday. I can’t say I’m shocked based on the league positions and the performance of both sides over the past week or so.

It’s funny how the SK Wyverns had one of their best runs after winning six games in a row recently, only to lose the next six. The team is not completely hopeless, but the pitching has been a real problem.

Even when the offense shows up, the Wyverns simply leak too many runs and can’t make up for them. I won’t be shocked to see more of the same with Ricardo Pinto as the starting pitcher. The Venezuelan has thirteen defeats in 2020 already.

His 6.42 ERA and 1.86 WHIP showcase his inability to stop the opposition and the numbers are even worse over the past month. Unless SK’s offense delivers big time, this game could be tough to watch for the Wyverns’ fans.

The Heroes had a tough run at the end of last week, but they recovered well on Tuesday and Wednesday. The opening game against the Tigers showcased the team’s defense, while the offense took over in the second clash.

I’m sure that Kiwoom’s confidence is high right now and the players are eager to win another two against the Wyverns. They have the advantage in pretty much every aspect of the game. The offense is much stronger and they have the better starter in Won Tae Choi.

He is returning after a shoulder injury, though, and the Wyverns scored some runs against him last time around, so the Heroes should be careful on Thursday.

I believe that the Heroes should win the opener versus the Wyverns, but I don’t like the odds for the favorites. I prefer to go for the over 9 outcome instead. Kiwoom should be able to score plenty and the Wyverns are dangerous too, so the line should be covered rather comfortably.
