The Seattle Mariners will square off against the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night in the opening contest of their three-game series at Petco Park in San Diego. Both teams had a day off after finishing their weekend series, coming to this one in a nice mood.

The Mariners are coming off a three-game series sweep of the Texas Rangers in Seattle, scoring 21 runs in the process and surrendering just six in a return. On the other side, the Padres swept the Houston Astros at home, tallying 22 runs in three games and yielding eight in a return.

The bats are red-hot on both sides, so I expect to see a great game Tuesday night. Let’s take a look at my best Mariners vs. Padres betting pick and get some tips and trends along the way.

Mariners vs. Padres Odds

BET ODDS
Mariners +1.5 -130
Padres -1.5 +115
Mariners to Win +165
Padres to Win -175
Over 8.0 -110
Under 8.0 -110

Both Mariners and Padres will start their top aces, but I’m still surprised with the line at 8.0 runs. If you want to jump on the over, I cannot blame you, but remember to check out the alternative lines and odds at the top MLB betting sites.

The Padres are firm -175 favorites on every available sportsbook, and considering how good they are, that’s a fair offer.

Mariners vs. Padres Betting Preview

The Mariners are 11-19 and sitting at the fourth spot of the AL West standings, seven games behind the bottom wild card. The 18-12 Padres are second in the NL West, four games behind the Dodgers, and 2.5 games ahead of the top wild card.

I’ve mentioned that Seattle scored some runs this past weekend, but the Mariners are 24th in the MLB in runs scored per game (4.13). They are 26th in batting average (.224) and 25th in slugging percentage (.372).

On the other side, the Padres are the second-most efficient team in the league with 5.43 runs per contest. They are tied with the White Sox for the most home runs (55) and are fourth in slugging percentage (.468).

Marco Gonzales will take the mound for Seattle on Tuesday. San Diego will counter with Chris Paddack.

Gonzales is 2-2 with a 3.34 ERA in five starts this season. He fanned 26 and walked only three in 29.2 innings of work. The lefty will get his second career start against San Diego after pitching five innings in a no-decision back in 2018.

Paddack is 2-2 with a 4.26 ERA in six starts this term and has a 27/6 K/BB ratio. The righty won his lone career start against the Mariners, allowing just a hit and one free pass in seven innings of work last season.

Mariners vs. Padres Betting Pick

The Padres have been playing in a tremendous form lately. They bring a seven-game win streak into this one, while the Padres are undefeated in six straight showings at home. Furthermore, the Padres are 7-1 in their previous eight meetings with the Mariners, so I have to take the hosts to win.
