Sassuolo is one of the most pleasant surprises after the opening four rounds of Serie A as they collected ten points so far. Following the opening day draw with Cagliari, Sassuolo recorded three straight victories over Spezia, Crotone, and Bologna, scoring four goals in each. The latest 4-3 win over Bologna on the road was particularly pleasing as Sassuolo trailed 3-1 after the first 60 minutes. They are in 2nd place behind AC Milan.

Torino, on the other hand, is the only team without a single point yet as they lost all three matches so far. The Maroons fell short to Fiorentina, Atalanta, and Cagliari, and are desperate to finally get a point, but it’s not going to be easy against the red-hot Sassuolo that has the second-best attack in the league.

Sassuolo won their last three Serie A games, scoring precisely four goals each time. The Neroverdi were down 3-1 after 60 minutes last time out (W4-3), but the three goals they scored in the final 25 minutes means they’ve now achieved that feat twice in this campaign. Overall, ten of their 13 league goals this term have come after the 57th minute.

The hosts have found the back of the net in the last five minutes in both home league games this season (W1, D1), and each of their last five victories here has seen them score 3+ goals (over 3.5 four times). Expect action here as fourteen of Sassuolo’s last 17 Serie A matches have featured both teams score (W8, D5, L4), with three of those five draws finishing 3-3.

Roberto De Zerbi will be without Lukas Haraslin, Jeremy Toljan (illness), Filippo Romagna (knee), and Rogerio (muscle).

Torino lost their opening three Serie A games for the first time since 2002/03, a season that saw them get relegated. The Granata have scored the opening goal and bagged precisely twice in both previous matches, but have also allowed five of their seven goals against in the first 45 minutes, which explains why they were down at the interval on both occasions.

Furthermore, the visitors are without a win in 11 Serie A road games (D2, L9), allowing at least once beyond the hour mark in eight of those defeats. Additionally, Torino lost 11 of their 12 away league matches since the start of 2019/20 that saw them concede the opening goal (D1). Recent H2H duels don’t inspire much confidence either, as Torino is winless in six visits to Mapei Stadio – Città del Tricolore (D5, L1).

Marco Giampaolo cannot count on Daniele Baselli (knee) and suspended Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, while Armando Izzo is questionable with a muscle injury.

Torino has more success when it comes to the H2H encounters in recent years, as they won four of the previous ten duels (D4, L2). However, Sassuolo won the latest clash at this venue (2-1), and Torino is winless here since 2014. Sassuolo allowed at least a goal in every game this season, while Torino scored a couple of goals in each of the previous two matches, so I expect to see goals on both sides here.
