The problem is that you don’t see that often enough which is why the team sits eight in the table, without much of a chance for the playoffs, unlike KT Wiz. The squad from Suwon really needs a victory in game two of the series.

Games like the series opener on Tuesday prove that the Samsung Lions should’ve been involved in the fight for the KBO playoffs at this point of the season. The lack of consistency has hurt the team in 2020 and it’s a shame that we likely won’t watch it in the decisive stages of the league.

And yet, the Lions can’t blame anyone else for losing so many games against mediocre opponents. The only thing left for them would be to win as often as possible to restore some pride.

Their task in game two of the series against KT Wiz should be much harder compared to the opener. Tae In Won is expected to get the nod and while his stats for the season are decent, the last month or so has been a nightmare.

The pitcher has an 8.53 ERA and a 1.47 in 19 innings played, including several disastrous showings in a row. It’s hard to expect anything different on Wednesday and the offense will have to step up big time for the Lions to win.

I was surprised to see the zero next to KT Wiz on Tuesday, as the team’s offense has been strong recently and one of the reasons why the side is still in the playoff places. Suwon should step up in game two because this is one of the easier opponents in the KBO, at least on paper.

The batters should have a much better time against Won on Wednesday, but KT Wiz is expected to send a shaky pitcher as well. Min Soo Kim has won only twice from eight attempts as a starter and his numbers since the start of August have been abysmal.

The Lions will be glad to face a guy with an ERA of over 8.00 in the past month and a half, so it seems like a game in which both offenses will have plenty of opportunities.

I believe that the Samsung Lions should be the slight favorites in game two, mostly because they have gathered a lot of momentum in the past several rounds. That’s why I’m more than willing to take the price of +110 for them to beat KT Wiz Suwon.
